Story
Kobe was a recue dog that my father adopted in about 2014. He was actually his wife's dog when she started showing signs of Alzheimer's. He was great for her. He would sit in her lap and let her pet him for long periods of time. He was very patient with her. After my father's passing in 2019, I have been taking care of him and he really is a sweet and kind of quirky sometimes dog, I would keep him if I could, but I will be moving to Texas very soon and I cannot take him with me. I cannot give him the attention he should have any more since I work so many hours a week now. I am in hopes to find Kobe a super loving home so he can bring someone else as much love as he has brought to my family. He is an older dog and has a few teeth missing but he will love you unconditionally. I have decided to go without a fee as I just want him to have a safe and happy home.

Story
Nina loves to snuggle. She's most happy snuggled up being pet and given love. My father recently died and we have had to move in with my mom and her dog and unfortunately she is not doing well with the dog. We want to find her a good safe loving home with no other pets. She is strong and her worst feature is that she pulls on the leash. Her best feature is she can't give enough kisses. She is not yet 2 years old so she still has puppy energy and love to play.

Story
Updated 2/2/2025: Jackson is a sweet, silly hound mix. He was born in late June 2022 and has reached his full-grown size at about 75 pounds. We do not know his exact breed mix. The adoption fee for Jackson is $200. He has been neutered and microchipped. He's receiving monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Jackson did fantastic with crate training as he recovered from his neuter. He's quite smart and followed another dog through the doggie door right away. He's friendly and picks up on things quickly. Jackson is patiently waiting for a forever family. He was first listed here in November 2022; he's been in the foster program so long that he recently had another annual exam and received his 3-year rabies and distemper/lepto vaccines. Jackson is a playful, adventurous and athletic pup. He'll need some continued work on leash-walking. (He hasn't had much practice and can be a bit of a bowling ball - but he's certainly willing to learn!) His ideal home would have a large, fenced yard (6-foot) so he can sniff, explore and zoom. (He has not been introduced to young children or cats.) He lives with his sister, Sioux, and can be a bit food aggressive towards her. He might do best as an only dog. There's a video of him romping with 3 of his siblings here: https://youtu.be/BoszRFevA7M (He has one sister, Sioux, who is also still available for adoption.) If you want more information about Jackson, call or text Jody at 352-316-5155 or email her at SCRWestLevy@gmail.com. Thanks for your interest in adopting - and for your patience as we are an all-volunteer rescue! (We do keep our posts current! Sometimes we have to repost a pup when an adoption falls through. Thanks for understanding.) - - - - - PS. Second Chance Rescue posts our pets on AdoptAPet.com. Story
Updated 2/2/2025: Sioux (pronounced "Sue") is a sweet, silly Lab/hound mix girl. She was born in late June 2022 and is very friendly. She weighs about 60 pounds - and is fully-grown now. (We do not know her exact breed mix.) The adoption fee for Sioux is $200. She has fully recovered from her spay surgery, and has been microchipped and is fully vaccinated. She's receiving monthly flea and heartworm prevention - and had a recent fecal (negative) and heartworm test (negative.) Sioux did fantastic with crate training as she recovered from her spay. She's very affectionate and is quite fond of peanut butter. We've working with Sioux on leash walking - she loves to explore (and choose her own direction) and will need some continued training - but she will pee on leash. Her ideal home would have a large fenced yard so she can sniff, explore and zoom. (She has not been introduced to young children or cats.) Sioux has a brother, Jackson, also currently available for adoption. If you want more information about Sioux, call or text Jody at 352-316-5155 or email her at SCRWestLevy@gmail.com. Story
River is an active, happy go lucky, 7 year old dog. He is a purebred Weimaraner that we purchased when he was 6 months old from a breeder here in Florida. He is wonderful with children and people of all ages and other dogs. He would do best in a home with a yard for him to run and play in and a family to love on him. He was raised with a Pug, Chewy, that we would love to be adopted together but if not it’s not a dealbreaker.
