Harley is currently at a rescue in Oklahoma. We are looking for a home in a state where people treat their animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport near one of the cities listed at bottom. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. -Harley is a male and is 6-7 months old (February 28) -He and his 2 brothers look completely different, Harley looks like a Doberman (sleek bodied, long thin face), one looks like a Shepherd mix, and another looks like a Shepherd/Rottie mix. So, I think they are a mixed bag breed-wise. Can only go off of looks for now. -Weighs around 25-30 pounds on February 28th -Came into a local shelter due to an abuse/neglect case -Does well with other dogs -Probably best with older children at time of posting, he and siblings get excited and nip at end of your shirt/coat sleeves for attention/when excited -May be housebroken, does not go to the bathroom in his crate/kennel and immediately uses the bathroom when he is put outside -Very friendly, loves attention and pets -Loves to run and be outside -Video of Harley from January 18: https://youtube.com/shorts/7XvllxcKUbY Harley is neutered, vaccinated (DHLPP, Bordetella and Rabies), dewormed, microchipped, and is on monthly flea/tick/HW prevention. Animal Information: Alfalfa is a handsome 2-year-old, 50-pound, male Doberman Pinscher mix with the sweetest presence to match his good looks. He was at risk at the Stanislaus shelter, and after seeing his notes and videos we knew we had to save him. According to staff, this sweetheart absolutely loves attention and is always happy to soak up affection from his people. He's patient in his kennel, easy to leash, and walks nicely on leash with only minor pulling. Once he's in the yard, his playful side shines -- get ready for some serious zoomies! Alfalfa enjoy being pet all over and is especially a fan of booty scratches. While he can be a little jumpy when excited, he listens well to "no" and "down", already knows how to sit and is eager to please. As a bonus, he's incredibly photogenic and always camera-ready! Foster Profile: Alfalfa is a sweet boy with lots of love to give! He is energetic but not 'wild' and would make a great hiking or jogging buddy. He loves fetch in the yard, going on walks, and hanging out with his people getting pets and love. He is good in his crate, but can be vocal when left alone so we are not considering apartments for him at this time. He is potty trained, and rides well in the car. Alfalfa can be a bit mischievous, and is learning the ropes of being in a house, but with proper guidance we believe he will thrive. He is very food motivated and wants to please, making training good stimulation for him. As Alfalfa has settled in he has demonstrated some leash reactivity as well as guardian breed behavior with new people. Animal Information: Lillith is an estimated 1-year-old, female, German Shepherd mix currently weighing approximately 72lbs. Lillith is described as clumsy pup with lots of energy to burn. She was brought into the shelter while pregnant and her puppies have all beed adopted out. After spending roughly 23.5 hours in a small kennel a day, her energy has built up and she's working on re-learning some manners. But who could blame her? Kennel life is no life for a girl like her. Shelter staff have reported that she is very friendly, sweet and loves some treats. Foster Profile: Lillith is a "happy go lucky” girl, with a touch of timidity. She is dog and people friendly, and walks nicely on leash. She has done well with older kids and we hope to test out younger ones soon. She is quite friendly and does jump up when excited, making knockovers a potential issue with littles, but we’re working on this and making progress. She is highly food motivated which is a big help with her training. Lillith already knows sit, down, and place and we are working on proofing these with longevity and distractions. She is really a joy to work with! Lillith has moderate energy and would love an active family. However, she does have an off switch and is able to lay down and chill inside which is great. She is crate trained and we are making good progress with potty training; no accidents recently keeping to a regular schedule and routine. Adopt Pika • Age: 1 year • Sex: Neutered Male • Breed: Miniature Pinscher Mix • Color: Brown • Weight: 3.3 kg • Height (shoulder): 24 cm Rescue Story Pika was rescued from an animal hoarding situation where dozens of dogs were found living together. He was brought to a municipal shelter before being rescued and given the chance to start a new life. Despite his difficult start, Pika has a gentle and affectionate personality and is learning to trust people more each day. Personality with People Pika can be a little shy when meeting new people at first. However, with a few treats and a little patience, he warms up quickly and can usually relax within a day. Once he feels comfortable, he becomes very affectionate. He loves attention, will run over when called, and enjoys cuddling. He can be picked up comfortably and will even roll over to show his belly when he trusts you. With Other Dogs Pika is friendly and social with other dogs. He often approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to say hello and invite them to play. He can feel slightly unsure around very large dogs, but he doesn’t panic — instead he cleverly avoids them and continues playing. He tends to prefer dogs closer to his own size. He currently stays with another rescued dog, Hazel, and they play together often and even sleep curled up next to each other. With Cats Pika has not lived with cats before, but a cat test can be arranged if needed. Energy Level Low to medium energy. He enjoys outdoor activity but is also calm and relaxed indoors once he has had some exercise. Walking Pika has not had much experience with walks yet. However, because he follows people well and enjoys human companionship, we believe he will learn quickly once he bonds with his adopter. Additional Notes Pika does not guard food from people or other dogs. He is currently using pee pads indoors. Since he was rescued from a hoarding environment, it is possible he may experience some separation anxiety if left completely alone at first. With time, patience, and routine, he should continue gaining confidence. He is calm in a crate, although he may bark if another dog approaches while he is inside. Interestingly, once the crate door opens and he meets the dog face-to-face, he becomes relaxed and friendly. Pika is a small dog with a big heart who is ready to leave his past behind and start a loving new chapter with his forever family. All of the dogs were taken to a city shelter, and Hazel was fortunately rescued before her situation became worse. She is now safe and slowly learning what life with people can be like. ‍‍ Socialization with People Hazel can be a little shy at first, but when someone calls her she will approach and happily settle into their arms. Because she grew up in a hoarding environment, she tends to be more cautious about new environments than people. In unfamiliar places, she often looks to humans for reassurance and comfort. She has not met children under 13 yet, but we do not expect major issues. She can be picked up by placing an arm under her belly, and once she becomes comfortable with someone she will even roll over to show her belly. Socialization with Other Dogs Since Hazel grew up with many dogs, she is used to living with them and often seeks comfort from the dogs she grew up with. They tend to sleep together in a little group, although she hasn’t shown a lot of playful interaction yet. She may feel uncomfortable around larger dogs but is generally friendly with dogs of a similar or smaller size. If another dog challenges her, she prefers to avoid conflict and will simply move away. With Cats Her reaction to cats has not been observed yet, but a test can be arranged if needed. Energy Level Hazel has a low energy level and enjoys spending most of her time resting calmly. Walks She has not had much experience outside yet. When something unfamiliar appears, she may tremble out of fear. However, once she forms a strong bond with her person, she tends to follow them closely, which may make walks easier as her confidence grows. Additional Notes Hazel does not guard food from either people or other dogs. She currently does not show severe separation anxiety, but because of her hoarding background and strong bonds with the dogs she lived with, some initial adjustment may occur when separated from them. She rarely barks, although she may bark along if other dogs start barking. She stays calm when placed in a kennel and is currently pad trained. He was rescued from a California shelter in very rough shape - he had major skin issues/hair loss and had clearly been neglected, but now he looks so much better! He's appreciative of love and attention and is a very affectionate boy. He's a big snuggler and will want to share your bed. He loves going for walks and other outings. He is good with some dogs but not others, so would probably thrive as the only dog in the home, or with a submissive female.
