Story
Indy quickly becomes everyone’s favorite Dobie due to his agreeable nature and persistence to live life to its fullest. He spends time lounging on his orthopedic dog bed between meals, barking if breakfast is late -then barks to announce its time to check the yard and stretch our legs. Happy to sunbath and monitor the other dogs, a peacemaker - he will bark to tattle on the dogs not playing nice. He has some white hairs and scars around his face, skin tags and one unruly ear crop - he is neutered, Heartworm treated and on prevention. Required treatment for skin and respiratory infections at intake. His blue coat is still growing back. He showed signs of neglect and had been abandoned as just a skeleton of a dog. Given a clean bill of health - he is adoptable (approximately 6 years old). He is on joint supplements and encouraged to continue to exercise to regain muscle. FOSTERED IN TEXAS *Adoption Fee includes fee on transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Canadian Adopters must meet transport in Bellingham, Washington. Story
Chandler lived with a young family in an apartment (purchased from a breeder) until he was 'too big' and surrendered to a shelter. He was poorly socialized and was not used to strangers and never had dog friends. He was significantly underweight at 54 lbs and barked at strangers. The shelter staff knew the best way to find the 'right' family for their 'Silly Goose' would be through Rescue. Chandler Goose weighed in at 70 lbs during his rescue intake and was still noticeably underweight with poor muscle tone. He is tall and at 2 years old, will not get any bigger - which is fine since he is above the breed standard of a Doberman and fitting in the category of a Warlock or King size bred Doberman. He has been slow introduced to other dogs and thriving in group play. He does well with other doberman males and females; he wants to play and smell, following the lead of other dogs. He would like dog friends and a yard to play. Video: https://youtube.com/shorts/UNgh6IvlV8U?si=i-Q9xYtOpNeCRWga Chandler loves, LOVES balls and ropes. He is an anxious chewer and blanket sucker. He is very vocal, whining and barking when he wants attention. He was kenneled at the shelter for months, so he is reluctant to crate at his foster home. He prefers to sleep on a dog bed, couch or the floor. Chandler is being trained with boundaries (baby gates) and does not push open doors or push past people. He knows sit and is easy to walk on a leash. He barks at people and things at a distance but does not show aggression. He will need a family accepting of his initial anxiety - he barks at new things and people (which is unnerving since he's huge) but will give kisses by the 2nd date or meeting, give 48 hours in a new home before he understands. He is working on house training and socializing. He functions with a puppy brain but is very trainable and eager to please. Vaccinated, tested negative for heartworms and on prevention, microchipped, neutered. Fostered in Texas. *Adoption Fee includes XL crate fee on transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Story
Ranger is ready for a running partner! This very active, friendly as can be 20 mo old, 63lb boy would be the ultimate exercise partner! He loves to get out and explore everything around him. He is a happy, silly boy so he may try to stop and greet new people when you’re on a walk. When you’re talking to him, he will go into a play bow, thinking he can distract you from calling him to come inside. He’s so goofy! It’s so hard to believe he hasn’t yet found his own, forever home! He has lived in a shelter like environment for literally half his young life so far, so he desperately deserves a home of his own. He’s absolutely wonderful with other dogs so another large, playful, friendly dog in the home would be best. He must also have a large dog experienced person that will continue his training. Ranger is very affectionate so someone that is ok with lots of cuddles is also a must. He is crate trained and can be left home line for up to 6 hrs without a potty break. He must have a 5ft or higher securely fenced yard.

Story
Meet Brody! Sweet Brody is an 8 month old Doberman. He is a sweet boy and very friendly with everyone he meets. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs too. Brody came to us because he was scheduled to be euthanized in an overcrowded shelter. We could not let this happen! Brody was received by the shelter after his owners tried to crop his ears. They botched it and his ears became very infected. He was taken to a vet who had to repeat the crop, but there was so much damage that Brody essentially does not have any ears left. He is otherwise healthy and in good shape. He is a big boy, strong and athletic as most Dobermans are. He needs some training since he has clearly had none, but he is very responsive.  We hope to find him a family who will love his unique look and who will show him that humans are kind. We prefer to place him with families who have older kids only. He is a big boy in need of some training.  Brody will be vaccinated, chipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $495. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future away from a city that has an animal crisis. We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets. So often are these animals dumped, abandoned, or born on the streets and never find a home to call their own. We are giving them the chance that every animal deserves. We know that since you are looking to add a furry family member to your home here, you will provide the love, care, and attention they need to thrive. Thank you for considering adopting and not shopping. ##2182713##
