Story
Rooster is available for in-state adoption or adoption and transport to another state. This handsome boy was found as a stray running out in the country. He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He will probably weigh in the 60-pound range when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed mixture but think he may have some lab and Doberman in him. Rooster has a great personality and disposition. He loves all of the other rescue dogs, big and small. He loves people and will lie at your feet whenever he can. He loves water and the garden fountain is his favorite spot to hang out and keep cool. Rooster is a very sweet and goofy puppy. He is pretty much house-trained and runs to go outside with his buddies. He will need some leash training and would probably do better with a harness. We have no idea of how he is with cats. Rooster loves to run and play with his dog friends and toys. He may not be suitable for a home with small children because he may knock them over when running and playing. Rooster needs a fully fenced-in and secure yard. He will be a great dog for hiking or going to the dog park. He is an active boy and will run around the yard with a toy in his mouth playing tag with his buddies. He likes to be the leader and have everyone chase him. Rooster would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs. Rooster is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Roosters' out-of-state adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company, and he can be transported almost anywhere within the continental United States. Rooster is with our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Please email kathy@houstonshaggydogrescue.org if you are interested in adopting this good boy. Story
Meet Osiris, a charming puppy with a heart full of love. His cuddly nature makes him a perfect companion for those cozy nights in as he willing lounges on your lap for some petting. Do it while you can hold him because right now he only weighs 18 pounds and won`t for long. His playful side ensures plenty of fun-filled afternoons as he enjoys his favorite activities - fetch, running, walks, chase, water, and all kinds of toys. Osiris is not just friendly, but also smart. He`s quick to learn new tricks, and his energetic personality keeps him eager to explore. He already knows sit, come, and fetch. He won`t run away while off leash either. Yet, he can also be mellow, content to simply sit by your side and enjoy your company. His curiosity makes him an interesting companion, always ready to discover new things. Osiris is well-behaved and knows about house training and leash walking. He gets along well with other dogs, cats, and children, making him a perfect addition to any family. He`s a social butterfly, always ready to make new friends and his popularity shines at the dog park. Adopting Osiris means bringing home a bundle of joy that will fill your days with love, laughter, and companionship. (tw 12/24/2024)

Story
Liv is an irresistibly charming 3-month-old puppy who has quickly become a bundle of joy in our home. Rescued just a couple of weeks ago, she is already showcasing her vibrant personality and intelligence. Liv’s playful energy keeps us entertained, whether she’s darting around with her favorite squeaky toys or showing off her new tricks. Her enthusiasm for food is matched only by her eagerness to learn, as she’s making excellent progress with potty training. Liv’s endearing blend of smart, silly, and affectionate qualities makes her a wonderful companion, and she’s ready to bring that same joy and love to her forever family.

Story
Kenneled evenings and overnight. Extremely loving. Some would say like Velcro. Have new job requiring extended overnight travel. Kennel (with plastic liner/rubber mat) and stainless steel bowl (with holder) included. Greater than $2,500 invested…. Adoption cost (10%) to cover kennel, microchip, bowl, door bells, custom collar and listing fee. Ears professionally cropped by Ear Trim Spring, Texas. VCA Prestonwood performed the spay. Eats three cups of food in the morning, water at will.and treat as a reward when coming in from the yard. She is a great in a car but I generally give her 1/4 can of Purina Pro Plan (so as not to upset her stomach) lamb and oat as a reward when she does. She is relatively clean but bathes in a (human) stand up shower 2-3 times per month (no bath or garden hose). She will bark at anything unfamiliar but no further aggression (jump, chase, bite, etc…). She will stay until the right home may be found. Cash only and photo ID required.

Story
We rescued Xena from a no kill shelter. She is about 15 months old. She is very spirited, can be very sweet and is a lap baby in the evening. Unfortunately, she is very aggressive to our lab and our cat. We feel that Xena would be best in a one pet home where she is the only one. She is good with kids.
