Story
This tri- colored. Doberman/Hound mix is named Kane. He is majestic, regal, handsome, and stunning. He is a two year-old 57 pound sweetheart that was brought into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 12/9 by a concerned citizen. You can tell from his body language in the photos that he is scared. He jumps at loud noises and flinches when you reach for him. A dog barked at him and he tried to run off. He will need more positive affirmations and a slow introduction. He would do best with a laid-back family with older children. I don’t know whether he knows the sit command. I do know he walks very well on a leash. He walked right beside me. He did his business when he got out into the yard and kept his kennel clean. At one point I was sitting on the bench and didn’t even call him and he came to me so he does want to make friends. He’s very gentle, sweet, affectionate, and attentive. He wants to be an inside dog so he can hang out with his new family during family time.

Story
Tucker     - **Name**: Tucker - **Age**: 2 years old - **Breed**: Doberman - **Gender**: Male (Neutered)   **About Tucker**:   Tucker is a stunning 2-year-old Doberman with a sleek coat and an athletic build that perfectly complements his love for running and playing. This sweet boy has had a tough start in life, not being treated as well as he deserved, but he’s ready to leave that behind and find a loving forever home where he can truly thrive. Tucker is full of energy and would excel in an active home where he can participate in dog sports or other physical activities that keep him moving.   **Special Notes**:   Tucker’s previous experiences have made him eager for affection and stability, and he deserves a home where he will be treated with kindness and respect. He has a strong prey drive, especially when it comes to cats, so a cat-free home would be the best fit for him. Tucker’s new family should be committed to providing him with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, as well as the love and care he’s been missing.   **Ideal Home**:   Tucker would thrive in an active home with a secure yard where he can run and play to his heart’s content. His ideal family would have experience with energetic breeds and be interested in involving him in dog sports or other physical activities. A cat-free home is essential due to his strong focus on cats. Tucker needs a loving and patient environment where he can continue to build confidence and trust.   **Why Adopt Tucker**:   Adopting Tucker means giving a deserving dog a second chance at happiness. His love for running and playing makes him an ideal companion for an active individual or family, and his sweet nature means he has a lot of love to give. Tucker is ready to leave his past behind and become a loyal, loving member of a family that appreciates his energy and dedication. If you’re looking for a devoted, athletic companion who’s eager to be part of an active, cat-free home, Tucker is the perfect match. ~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption, things could drastically change a month later.  Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam. Story
Tierney is just a doll! He is a playful, sweet, engaging boy who is ready to take on the world with his new person. Poor baby found himself on the side of the road dumped by someone. He was starving. He did not know how to find food which is common for dogs dumped and was fortunate someone stopped and picked him up. Since coming to us he has been neutered and received all of his shots and has been on heartworm prevention and has received his microchip. He has been socializing with all of the dogs here at the rescue and he loves to play. He is not aggressive at all but will jump in to try and play with any group that is engaged at the moment. He is Crate trained extremely well! He loves to eat and is a little messy sometimes because he is so enthusiastic given that he was without food for some time, but you can pet him while he's eating and touch him and he is fine with that. He's very trusting and sweet. We crate feed all of our animals to instill in them a sense of safety, and he has really taken to that. He's ready to be part of a family and be the center of someone else's group. Please come to meet him! You won't be sorry.

Story
Hi, my name is Harley and I am approximately 2 years old. I am a Doberman/ Lab mix who has lots of love to give to a new furever family. I love to play with other 4 legged lady fur friends, I love long walks in the park, playing catch with my foster family and rolling in the grass with my fur buddies. I love toys, especially the ones that squeak. I love my ears and belly rubbed. I am crate trained, that is where I sleep at night because it makes me feel safe but I’ve got to have some blankets to make a little nest. I will let you know when I have to go out and take care of business with a simple bark. I love to do everything you want to do. I just wanted to be loved. I haven’t seen any cats yet with my foster family. I’m good with kids that won’t hit me. I’m current on all my shots and I am neutered on Friday. Harley needs to be in a home with no other male dogs. To meet Harley, please fill out an application! Application available at https://www.pawsofloverescue.com/adoption-application . Adoption donation of $295 includes spay, microchip, deworming, dhpp vaccinations, rabies shot, bordetella nose spray and heartworm treatment with a positive test. Dallas/Ft. Story
Meet Dobby! This affectionate boy is looking for a FURever home where he can cuddle up with his person or family and play fetch. He's very smart and is already housebroken, knows no, listens well, and has a desire to keep learning what you're willing to teach him! He'd make a great partner for someone that enjoys a nice run or jog and then coming home to relax, his preferred relaxation being a nice bone to chew on. He enjoys a nice chase so probably best with no feline friends, possibly a selective canine companion, but has done well with children. If his zest for life doesn't win you over, his adorably large ears surely will! Apply to bring this big boy home today! All Abandoned Pet Project Rescue adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. You can view all the adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at bit.ly/APPRAdoptableDogs. For more information, you can email adopt@abandonedpetproject.org.
