Story
Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted 6/29/18, and pictures updated 5/10/20 - Callan was surrendered on 4/11/18. An older woman contacted the Smith County, TX Shelter about her young dog. The officer who talked to her, called me to see if I could help, since the shelter cannot take owner surrenders. I had recently had some adoptions, so I told him that he caught me at a good time. He brought the young dog to me later that day, and I didn't get the dog's name from the home, so I named him Callan. I took Callan to the Gresham Veterinary Hospital on 4/13/18 to get vaccinated, he was listed as a Doberman mix, 1.5 years old, weighed 44.6 pounds, and was neutered by Dehart Veterinary Services on 4/14/18.  As of 5/10/20, he weighs 54 pounds. Callan is good with adults and children, loves to play with the other dogs, has a high pitch bark at times when he sees things like squirrels in the trees, is good on a leash, and crate trained.  He loves to be pet, and will put his head on my lap to get pet.  He requires a fenced yard, and is not an apartment dog.  He didn't like to be crated at night, but got better.  I eventually stopped putting him in a crate at night, since he does well outside at night. Callan's adoption fee is $85. Anyone interested in adopting him, please e-mail me at TMSGriffith@aol.com. October 20, 2024, 10:53 pm

Story
If you are looking for spice in your life, come and meet Gordy. Gordy is a three month old 17 pound black and tan Pinscher/Manchester Terrier mix that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 10/21 as a stray. He weighs 17 pounds now but will need to grow into those paws. He was brought in with another three month old named Walker that he was running with. I suspect since they are the same age and have the same coloring they may be siblings. Gordy has a lot of puppy energy and a lot of puppy traits. He’s frisky, happy, playful, and overly friendly. He could use some manners training to learn not to jump on you. He doesn’t appear to know the sit command but is highly motivated by treats. He even found them in my pocket and stuck his nose in to help himself. He wants to please. He wants attention and since he loves treats he should be easy to train. He gives kisses, and when you sit down he comes to you. He walks OK on a leash. He barked at other dogs, but I think it was a playful bark. We suggest if you have another dog you ask the shelter for a dog test. He will need a yard to stretch his legs, exercise to burn off his energy, and someone to play with him. After a play session, he would love to spend the rest of his time in the house loving on his new family. He has been saving up kisses.

Story
Hi! I'm Shay! I'm an approximately 1 year old, male, Doberman/Shepherd mix weighing about 52 lbs. I was found off Eva Place in Rockwall on 06/15/2024 and sadly never reclaimed. I am a total sun bum! I love to lay out and bask in the warm glow of the sun shine. Inside or outside, you'll find me sunning! I love belly rubs and get along with dogs of all sizes, both male and female. I like fetch and am a very affectionate guy! I love going for long walks and checking out the sights. I am crate trained and would be easy to house train if put on a schedule. If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure we get along. I have been searching for my furr ever home for 143 days as of 11/05/2024 and am now considered a Diamond Dog! My adoption fee is $75. I am neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination, basic boosters, and heartworm negative!  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. November 6, 2024, 7:31 pm

Story
LOCATION: Boerne, TXDOB: 01/19/2022Hi there! I’m Jojo, and I’m so excited to tell you all about myself!I’m a house-trained and crate-trained girl who’s as well-behaved as they come. You can leave me out alone without worrying about any destruction—I’m a total couch potato! I love car rides and going on errands, especially when we visit dog-friendly stores. I know my basic commands and walk nicely on a leash, making me a great companion for all your adventures. One of my favorite things to do is go on long walks with a long lead so I can sniff, explore, and chase lizards and squirrels. I could watch out the window for hours on end, keeping an eye on the world outside.I have a high prey drive, so I’m not a fan of cats, and I need to be the only dog in the home because I can be a bit unpredictable with other dogs. But don’t worry, I make up for it with my love and loyalty. I absolutely adore cuddling up with my person to watch TV, and if you stop petting me, I’ll gently nudge you to start again.I love meeting new people everywhere I go, and I’m especially fond of kids. If you’re looking for a loving, fun, and cuddly dog to share your life with, I might just be the perfect match for you! Can’t wait to meet you and become your new best friend! Love, Jojo. All of our dogs are altered, if medically possible, fully vetted, micro-chipped, and on heartworm prevention or treatment prior to being adopted. Story
My name is Putz. I am a 2-3 year old male Doberman. I am terrified of new things, so I need a family that understands that and can be patient with me while I get used to you, but once I open up to you I love to smile when I see you and get belly rubs. I have tried going on walks a couple times but I’m not so sure about that. If you give me a chance I will be the most loyal bestest friend you will ever have. The lady looking after me thinks I was very neglected and possibly abused with the way I act so I need someone that can be gentle with me.
