Story
Marlie is 4 yrs old, super sweet, eager to please, great with people. She is crate trained, rides well in the car, walks well on a leash & is potty trained. Marlie is on the high energy side, needs regular exercise & mental stimulation. Although she is beautiful, she is the product of very poor breeding & has had two knee surgeries so exercise doesn’t need to be intense but should be facilitated multiple times a day, such as running in the yard or playing with another dog or swimming. She will do best in a home with consistent routines & a fenced yard where she can run. She is good with male dogs but no cats. Marlie struggles with anxious energy & reactivity to unknown dogs when they are near so training and regular “calm time” help. She is a typical loyal velcro Doberman who craves being near her owner & will be a great go-everywhere dog with continued training & consistency.

Story
Ripley a 1 yr old, blue male who is a sweet & silly boy! He's great with female dogs 30 lbs & larger. He's done great in playgroups with multiple dogs but doesn't do well with other males in his same home. He's potty trained & also rides well in the car. He's still a puppy & needs some training but has great potential. He plays well with other dogs & enjoys their company. He is crate trained & enjoys walks. He does require a home where someone is home part-time because although he's great in a crate overnight, he doesn't enjoy daytime crating so it needs to be limited. He's not yet trustworthy left loose in the home & has moderate puppy energy. ■We adopt to all areas of Texas as well as parts of OK, AR & LA. 🛑SERIOUS inquiries will EMAIL us. ●Monte a 10-14 mth old, red male who is a total gentleman! Super chill, very affectionate, great with dogs of all sizes & cats too. He's potty trained & also rides well in the car. He's still a puppy & needs some leash training because he gets overly excited on walks, especially when he sees squirrels, but has great potential. He plays well with other dogs & enjoys their company. He is crate trained & enjoys walks. He does require a home where someone is home part-time. For such a young dog, he has been moderate to low energy. He is a rare find & a great boy! ■We adopt to all areas of Texas as well as parts of OK, AR & LA. 🛑SERIOUS inquiries will EMAIL us. Story
Candi is a fun loving, playful, active Shepherd mix, who is fully vetted, HW neg and microchipped. Though she does get along with most dogs, she would probably do best in a home where she is the only fur baby, receiving all the attention. Candi is house broken, but as far as being crated...she prefers to not be confined, so we don't currently crate her. Candi loves to go for walks, though she is very strong and wants to lead! She needs a strong hand and leash training. She's a smart girl, and has learned to open the back door at her foster home. Candi LOVES to have her people with her most of the time, so a family who is home most of the time, would be ideal. Shei loves cuddles and lots of attention! *NO cats for Candi! *****Candi is currently located in Dallas/Fort Worth, so transport would need to be arranged!***** If interested in adopting, please feel free to fill out our adoption application online: www.salvagedsoulspetrescue.org

Carla (Terrell)

Doberman Pinscher

Female, 6 yrs 3 mos
Grand Prairie, TX
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
-
Story
Carla was adopted in October 2020 but due to Covid, the owner could no longer afford to keep her. She is very active and loves chasing balls. Carla can be protective in the house. Her ideal companion will be a submissive young male. Carla likes to be the boss. She is not crate trained and does not do well in a crate or if left alone too long. She guards her home and needs someone who understands this breed as a working and protective dog. When first meeting new people she should be approached with caution - do not crowd her. The adopter needs to let Carla approach for affection until you have gained her trust. When a dog has been moved out of a home they become wary and it takes time for them to understand the new adopter is the forever home. She will need time to adjust and trust you and she will be a lifelong best friend to you. She may not do well with younger children as they have a tendency to want to get too close to befriend a dog. Since Carla is not housed at DRNT let us know if you want to meet her so we can get her to Grand Prairie.

Story
Mister Peabody came from a local shelter. He is able to jump fences so he will need a tall solid wood fence- he can jump a six foot wood fence with no problem. He is great with other dogs. He is a little timid at first but warms up and is happy to lean in for ear rubs. This guy has lived with a 3-year old and did really well with him. He is housebroken and does well alone in the house. He needs someone who will spend time with him. He is a little cautious but has come a long way from when we first met him. He would likely enjoy having a canine companion.

Story
Skittles might be the perfect family dog. Although we haven`t had her around kids, she is sweet and calm. She does fine with all the other large dogs and is not food aggressive. The previous owner who had her almost three years said she did not get along with their small female dog. Please bring any pets with you to meet her. She takes treats gently and will sit when asked. Skittles walked easily on leash and is outgoing and affectionate. She didn`t jump up on people and loves attention. This little gal appears to be perfect for anyone who will love her, but a family with children might consider her for her gentle demeanor. Since Skittles is not housed at DRNT, let us know if you want to meet her so we can get her to Grand Prairie.

Story
Meet Dakota!Dakota is the ultimate playful trickster, always keeping things fun and unpredictable. He may not always be the first to jump into the action, but don’t let that fool you—he knows exactly when to make his move. Whether it's sneaking in at just the right moment to steal a toy or waiting for the perfect opportunity to dash away in a game of chase, Dakota’s playful personality shines through. He loves to zip around the yard, outmaneuvering his playmates with quick turns and last-second escapes, making every game an adventure. When he’s not showing off his speed and smarts, Dakota enjoys a good round of tug-of-war, putting his determination to the test. But despite his playful, mischievous streak, he’s just as happy to slow things down for belly rubs and cuddle time. Whether he’s stretched out in a fluffy bed on his own or curling up next to a friend, he knows how to get comfortable after a long day of fun. His laid-back side balances out his love for play, making him the perfect mix of energy and relaxation. Dakota is a quick learner with a clever mind, always eager to explore and figure out new things. He’s looking for a family that will appreciate both his fun-loving nature and his softer, snuggly side. With his playful spirit, sharp wit, and affectionate heart, Dakota is ready to bring endless joy and laughter to his forever home. Dakota was born in October 2024 and is being fostered in Colorado. OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS OR COLORADO BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information. All of our dogs are located in a foster home in Texas or Colorado. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Mutts N Such direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc). Our out of state adoption fee is $350 plus transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, a registered microchip, fecal analysis, spay/neuter for pets 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs will be current on flea/heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days. If you are interested in adopting, please complete our application: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/57167/generic Note: MNS reserves the right to deny any application that is deemed unsuitable for the animal. Please be aware that our animal adoptions are NOT on a first come- first serve basis. Our sole purpose is to find the best possible home for the animals that fall under our care. ##2331070##
