Story
Sweet Tilly was dumped on a busy road in east Austin and rescued by a good Samaritan. Now, she's thriving in her foster home and is ready to find her forever family! Tilly is young and energetic, and loves zooming in the backyard, romping with her favorite stuffies, and playing chase with the dog friends in her foster home. Her foster mom says she is the goofiest, silliest girl who wants to play all day, every day. Tilly is crate trained and working on her leash manners. Her ideal home is one where that she would not be crated all day. She would thrive with a social medium or large-sized doggy friend that could be her bestie, and a big fenced yard to zoom around in, sunbathe, and squirrel watch. She also loves to cuddle with dogs and humans alike and would love to get the chance to make a permanent Tilly-sized indention right next to you on the couch ... it's the perfect place to get those ear scratches she loves! If you need the bestest, goofiest girl in your life, Tilly is ready for you! **Adoptable in the greater Austin, Texas, area only**

Story
I rescued Harley when she was 5 months old in California from one love dog rescue, she has been my best friend and I don’t know what I would do without her, I recently moved into an apartment and got a new job so I’m never home and her behavior has gotten worse, she is more reactive to other dogs and people, she needs an owner who can play with her and isn’t gone all day. It breaks my heart that I have to re home her but I know it’s the best decision for her to live a long and happy life.

Story
Scary Movie is a 4-month-old female Doberman Pinscher with a not-so-scary story of strength, resilience, and heart. She came to APA! as an urgent medical pup after experiencing trauma, and she’s been bravely bouncing back ever since. Scary Movie recently had a spay surgery and treatment for a fluid-filled pocket on her back (a seroma), which was successfully drained and is healing well. She’s also recovering from pelvic fractures that are stable and healing nicely. The best part? She’s walking well, eating like a champ, and has a great prognosis for a full, happy life. For now, Scary Movie needs a calm home where her activity can be limited—no running or jumping—while her pelvis finishes healing over the next few weeks. She can meet and socialize with other dogs as long as play stays mellow. She’ll go home with medications and has a recheck scheduled for 12/28/25 for suture removal and to reassess her mobility. Scary Movie may have had a rough start, but she’s ready for a happy ending with a loving family who will help her heal and grow. If you’re looking for a loyal, resilient puppy with a sweet soul, Scary Movie is ready to steal the show.

Story
Starr is a medium-sized beauty who has just joined our rescue, and we’re already excited to learn more about her. We think Starr may have a good amount of Doberman Pinscher in her breeding, a mix often known for loyalty, intelligence, and a strong bond with their people. Because Starr is new to us, we’re still getting to know her personality, preferences, and all the special things that make her who she is. What we do know is that she has a lovely presence and is ready for a fresh start with a new forever family. To set up a no-obligation “meet and greet” with Starr, please visit https://www.wimberleywagrescue.org/available-dogs/ and fill out an application.

Story
I have tested heartworm positive. This means I have a parasite and need treatment. While my friends at HSNBA desperately want to help me, the shelter is too stressful an environment to undertake treatment and treatment itself is very expensive. The shelter has a few options to help with treatment, and if I steal your heart you should talk with them and your vet about what my treatment is like. For more information on heartworms, please visit the American Heartworm Society here https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basicsHSNBA lists all animals online from the moment of intake, and our listings are updated automatically every midnight. Some of these animals may not be available for adoption at this moment, but you can always call the shelter at 830-629-5287 for clarification on the adoption process or the animal's current status.
