Story
Charlie is an older dog over 12 years old who has a great disposition who loves to be around people. He gets along very well with children and other dogs/animals. He was rescued as a younger dog and spent a majority of his life with a large family that included another large dog (a female Golden Retriever who later pasted away). Charlie has some benign tumors that do not affect his general health. He enjoys running, whether in a large yard or on hikes or walks with family members. Charlie is being rehomed because the family he spent his time with has had a change in circumstances including the sale of their home, and there is really no one who can provide the time and attention he needs as well as some space for him to roam in. You really will not be disappointed when you adopt Charlie. He really is a one of a kind lovable dog.

Story
Duchess was in a small, high kill shelter when we came across her information. Her eyes were so infected she couldn’t open them and the shelter had posted her as being blind. Our vet discovered that Duchess doesn’t produce tears and the chronic dry eye had been untreated so long her corneas were damaged and infected. This sweet girl was so shut down initially she had to remember what a special dog she is. We are trying our best to save her eyes, she gets 2 types of medicated drops twice a day and artificial tears as often as possible. She’s learned to let her foster clean her eyes and is good about getting her drops. She’s able to see now although not as well as we hope she can as we progress. She will need eye drops ongoing. Duchess now plays with the other dogs in her foster home and enjoys running around her yard. Her very favorite thing is getting attention and spending time with her humans. She just wants to totally devote herself to her human and take care of her family. This girl is a wonderful Doberman and an ambassador for the breed. She is house trained, can use a doggie door or ask to go outside if she doesn't have one. She is fine being left home alone or with her canine friends but would rather go wherever her human is going. She’s great going for rides and would be the perfect travel companion. Duchess is fully vetted - current with vaccines, spayed, on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, and is microchipped.

Story
Hi! I'm Shay! I'm an approximately 1 year old, male, Doberman/Shepherd mix weighing about 52 lbs. I was found off Eva Place in Rockwall on 06/15/2024 and sadly never reclaimed. I am a total sun bum! I love to lay out and bask in the warm glow of the sun shine. Inside or outside, you'll find me sunning! I love belly rubs and get along with dogs of all sizes, both male and female. I like fetch and am a very affectionate guy! I love going for long walks and checking out the sights. I am crate trained and would be easy to house train if put on a schedule. I am good with cats and kids of all ages! If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure we get along. I have been searching for my furr ever home for 143 days as of 11/05/2024 and am now considered a Diamond Dog! My adoption fee is $75. I am neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination, basic boosters, and heartworm negative!  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. November 11, 2024, 7:11 pm
