Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.12/17/24 Millie needs somewhere to go IMMEDIATELY. Currently located in PA. Available to foster or adopt. Millie originally can't into rescue a little over a year ago, after a domestic violence situation left her homeless. Her home included a baby and a couple of very young kids which she loved dearly. We specifically wanted a home with kids for her at that time. She was adopted 9-10 months ago, to a family with a 14 yr old son. We were under the impression that everything was going great, until today. We don't know the circumstances, but Millie bit the 14 yr old. It was a very minor bite. No medical attention was needed. But now the son is scared of her and threatening to go live with the other parent if Millie stays in the home. Her adopter says that she has always been tense around the son. We do know that she is more comfortable around women, and she may suffered some abuse from the 'dad' in her original home. Millie is very cuddly and affectionate. She is excellent with other dogs and cats. Please help us keep her out of the shelter. She needs a home, or a foster home, right away. Due to this incident, we would like to see her go to a home with out children. But may be open to a meet n greet with a family that includes, to see how she responds to them. It seems that she likes young kids, and i would assume that if she meets the kids while young, she will be fine with them as they grow into big kids. This will just need to be determined on a case by case basis. Millie has been through a lot in her 4 years of life. She needs an understanding family who will accept her and pay attention to any cues she may give when she's uncomfortable. She is located in PA but we may be able to find a volunteer transport to help her get to other locations. Please share. She is very urgent. email apps.aasr@gmail.com for more info. Story
Peanut is a big lug who loves to love! He was originally brought in as a stray, then his owners were found…but they just decided to not come back for him. Peanut didn’t understand why, and we certainly never did either. He’s such a fun goofy boy! He LOVES stuffy toys- to the point that he takes one with on every single walk! He enjoys snuggles with people and is good with basic commands. He does love his tubbies, so it’s always a pleasure for bath time with Peanut. He has such cute little nuances too- the way he runs like a funny inch worm…the way he tucks his little butt in when he’s happy. He’s just a lovable goof you have to meet!

Story
*COURTESY POST* Joker is a charming 4 1/2-year-old Doberman Pinscher currently being fostered through Catskill Animal Rescue in NY. This sweet boy has a lot of love to give and is looking for a dedicated, experienced Dobie owner to share his life with. Joker loves going for walks and being with his humans. He can be around other dogs, but a meeting is required to ensure compatibility. Given his past as a cruelty case where he was kept in a small kennel, resulting in bowed rear legs, Joker needs a home that understands his special needs. Joker is great at following commands and does well on a leash, though he might pull if something catches his interest. He has a tendency to tear up toys but doesn't resource guard. While he hasn't been around young kids, he behaves well around people. Joker is dog selective and only barks when someone approaches the house. Currently in a foster home, Joker is doing well but may have occasional accidents indoors if he becomes anxious. He loves car rides and is happiest when he's close to his humans. An experienced Doberman owner is preferred, and it's important that Joker isn't crated. To apply for Joker, please visit Catskill Animal Rescue's website and complete an application: https://www.catskillanimalrescue.com/app-faq Let's help Joker find the loving forever home he deserves! Story
Athena is a beautiful female Doberman with a sleek black and tan coat, natural ears, and a docked tail. She is approximately 4 to 5 years old. Found in a parking lot in Arizona, she has been through quite the journey to our rescue and is now looking for her forever home. Athena adores people and is friendly with strangers, always happy to join you on walks, car rides, and outings to stores like Lowe’s. Her favorite pastimes include running, playing, and using her blanket as a pacifier. While she’s been a fantastic foster dog, she needs to be the only dog in her new home due to her resource guarding tendencies with food and toys. Due to this, we recommend a home with no small children. Athena thrives in a structured environment and has shown incredible loyalty and affection towards those she bonds with. She is house-trained, crate-trained, leash-trained, and spayed. Athena loves spending time outside but prefers cooler weather. She has a high prey drive, especially with small animals like squirrels, and would do best in a home without cats or small animals. If you’re looking for a smart, active, and loving companion who will be devoted to you, Athena might just be the perfect fit! Story
Hi! My name is Layla. I am a 4-year-old female black and tan Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail. Since arriving at my new foster home I have experienced so many new things! My foster mom has been very gentle and kind with me because I am quite nervous and shy. I didn’t get a lot of attention at my previous home so some things can be scary. I have found I really enjoy lounging in the back yard on sunny days, and toys are so much fun, though it took a bit to figure out what to do with them. I would love a furever family who would take their time with me and help me learn what it is like to be a part of a family. Layla was not socialized with many things and needs a family who will take things slow and help her adapt to her new life. She is spayed and up to date on all vaccines and preventatives. If you are interested in adopting Layla please fill out an application at www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DPR/Dog PA Kennel License # 14649

Story
Meet Gonzo! Gonzo is a sweet and resilient 5-year-old Doberman looking for his forever home. He has been through a lot but still has a heart full of love and loyalty. His foster family describes him as a happy, affectionate boy who adores his people. They’ve been helping him learn leash manners, and he's been responding well to crate training, happily going into his crate and showing his calm, gentle side. While Gonzo is friendly with people, he would do best as the only pet in a home. His high prey drive means he needs a cat-free environment, and he’s shown some food and toy guarding behaviors around other dogs. His foster family has managed this carefully, but for his success and comfort, a home without other pets would likely be ideal. Gonzo would benefit from a family willing to continue his training, as he’s learning quickly and wants to please. Gonzo is ready to find his perfect match. He’s looking for a family who will appreciate his journey and give him the love, patience, and understanding he deserves. Apply for Gonzo here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DPR/Dog PA Kennel License 14649
