Story
Meet Niko, a spirited European Doberman born on July 15th, 2021. This handsome black and tan boy, originally from Serbia, weighs about 83 pounds but would be healthiest at around 85-90 pounds. Niko is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and microchipped. He’s a bundle of energy and intelligence, with a high drive that needs plenty of physical and mental exercise. Niko is quick, smart, and eager to please, making him a great candidate for agility, obedience, and IGP sports. He's affectionate and has a lot of love to give to the right home. He thrives on structure and routine, and with consistency and patience, he’ll continue to grow into an exceptional companion. He rides amazingly well in the car. Loves it! Healthy and active, Niko is on heartworm, flea, and tick preventative and has no reactivity to grooming, including nails and ears. He's housetrained and enjoys attending daycare. His favorite toy is a Kong tennis ball, and he’s very food motivated. While he’s good with older kids (13+), he would do best in a home without young children. He is also a big lovebug! Niko needs a committed owner who can continue his training, as he’s not a fan of the crate and needs work on his leash manners. He requires a securely fenced yard (at least 6 feet) because he’s a fast and high jumper. Niko loves to run and play with other dogs, but his interaction with cats is unknown. He initially feared thunder from storms, however, was able to overcome his fear and now he is no longer bothered by them. Niko is working on his separation anxiety and has shown progress. He’s also "growly" when excited for meals, which is just an anxious quirk and not aggression. With zero resource guarding, Niko’s only aim is to please and protect his family. If you’re an experienced dog owner ready to provide a loving, structured home for a smart and energetic Doberman, Niko could be the perfect addition to your family: Right now Niko is located in Ontario, Canada. Story
*COURTESY POST* Joker is a charming 4 1/2-year-old Doberman Pinscher currently being fostered through Catskill Animal Rescue in NY. This sweet boy has a lot of love to give and is looking for a dedicated, experienced Dobie owner to share his life with. Joker loves going for walks and being with his humans. He can be around other dogs, but a meeting is required to ensure compatibility. Given his past as a cruelty case where he was kept in a small kennel, resulting in bowed rear legs, Joker needs a home that understands his special needs. Joker is great at following commands and does well on a leash, though he might pull if something catches his interest. He has a tendency to tear up toys but doesn't resource guard. While he hasn't been around young kids, he behaves well around people. Joker is dog selective and only barks when someone approaches the house. Currently in a foster home, Joker is doing well but may have occasional accidents indoors if he becomes anxious. He loves car rides and is happiest when he's close to his humans. An experienced Doberman owner is preferred, and it's important that Joker isn't crated. To apply for Joker, please visit Catskill Animal Rescue's website and complete an application: https://www.catskillanimalrescue.com/app-faq Let's help Joker find the loving forever home he deserves! Story
**Courtesy Post** Meet Theo, a 2-year old blue Doberman Pinscher looking for a new home. Theo is a sweet and playful dog who loves snuggling, going for walks, and playing with his family. He's crate trained, knows many commands, and is fully housebroken. Theo has shown dog aggression with unfamiliar dogs and has nipped his adult owners in response to high energy and overstimulation when seeing other dogs. He needs a calm, quiet household without young children and ideally no other dogs, unless they are a strong alpha. He lives with two cats, whom he sometimes chases but is also affectionate towards. Theo behaves well on a leash and is not aggressive towards people. He needs an experienced owner who can provide structure and manage his reactivity. Despite his challenges, Theo is smart, trainable, and capable of being a wonderful companion in the right environment. If you have a calm, structured home and experience with dogs with special behavioral needs, Theo could be the perfect addition to your family. Story
Say hello to Dexter! Dexter is a 1 ½-year-old blue male with natural ears and a docked tail. He came to DPRPA through BARCS shelter in Baltimore after being picked up due to a scuffle with another dog. Luckily after time and training you would hardly know it! This sweet boy loves people, playing ball, and learning new things. Dexter needs a furerver family that is active and willing to help continue his basic obedience and leash skills. His leash reactivity has improved drastically and he can now walk past most dogs without issue, or he can be redirected if needed. Dexter loves kids, but due to his size and young energy level his future family would need to be conscious of his activity around small children. With proper introductions Dexter loves to play with other dogs that match his energy level and size. Dexter is currently located in New Ringgold, PA. If you think your family is the right match for this sweet lovebug, please fill out an application at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DPR/Dog DPRPA PA Kennel License # 14649

Story
Athena is a beautiful female Doberman with a sleek black and tan coat, natural ears, and a docked tail. She is approximately 4 to 5 years old. Found in a parking lot in Arizona, she has been through quite the journey to our rescue and is now looking for her forever home. Athena adores people and is friendly with strangers, always happy to join you on walks, car rides, and outings to stores like Lowe’s. Her favorite pastimes include running, playing, and using her blanket as a pacifier. While she’s been a fantastic foster dog, she needs to be the only dog in her new home due to her resource guarding tendencies with food and toys. Due to this, we recommend a home with no small children. Athena thrives in a structured environment and has shown incredible loyalty and affection towards those she bonds with. She is house-trained, crate-trained, leash-trained, and spayed. Athena loves spending time outside but prefers cooler weather. She has a high prey drive, especially with small animals like squirrels, and would do best in a home without cats or small animals. If you’re looking for a smart, active, and loving companion who will be devoted to you, Athena might just be the perfect fit! Story
Meet Willow! This silly girl is a 3-year-old albino with cropped and flopped ears that sometimes have a mind of their own, and a docked tail. Her previous owners had some major life changes and knew she needed a home who could give her more time and attention. She is full of puppy energy and loves to play ball and spend time with her person. Due to her size and high energy she needs a home without small children. Willow does have some separation anxiety when left alone but is not destructive in the home. Her crate is her safe space and she can be left crated, or loose with access to her crate. She knows some basic commands like sit, stay, wait, no, and come, but would flourish in a family that will continue to train with her regularly to help build her confidence. She would do well in a home with a dog of her size; however, we are not recommending small dogs or cats. Willow is located in Philadelphia, PA. If you think Willow would make a great addition to your family, please fill out an application at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DPR/Dog PA license # 14649
