Story
Jax was the last puppy left in a an laundry basket at a local market the day before the fourth of july. His sister was next to him full of fire & excitement & Jax was laying down curled in a ball quietly waiting. When I picked him up, he rested his head on my shoulder & quietly gave me one gentle lick. He's smart, quick to learn, attentive to his owners feelings, loves being close to his "pack". He's never once hurt any children, he's self aware of his size. We've done plenty of training classes and done everything we understood on how to socialize him. He hates bath time & the water hose, but LOVES the lake, river or ocean. He will dig a hole in the sand on command, making the perfect puppy bed to snuggle in. He has great house manners. We can leave the house with meat on the counter in full trust. He's 3yrs, about 94-100lbs, loud bark and slobbery at times. Fav toys being ball, rope or a tough stuffy. We hope to find a family that understands his breed and has open space to run free.

REXLY!!!! Isn't that a name??? Well, maybe it goes along with my breed?? nope.... my appearance?? nope....my history?? nope... maybe it was something they made up??? YUP! But it fits me, I mean, REX is kind of like a T Rex, and I have the face/mouth SIMILAR to a T Rex, but a WHOLE LOT CUTER!! and LY, i mean, what does that stand for???? OK, they made up my name. And I identify with it :D AND that is all that really matters! So now you know a very little about me, what about you?? do you LOVE DOBERMANS??? I am all all that! I have a goofy inside and serious outside, only people who know and love the breed truly understand that! I am very serious about my food, my toys, my friends and my other friends and nothing else ;) I love to play, and chase toys and hang out on my bed and go for hikes and walks and be loved on... Do you have the right home for me?? Then hurry up and adopt me I cannot linger here forever waiting for you!!! Story
Hi, my name is Fury! But I'm more like a happy, gentle breeze that wants to have fun! You might recognize my name from the famous character Director Nick Fury of the Marvel movies, I'm kinda like him: I love being the center of attention and don't like it when people take my stuff! I am a big dog! With my mixed Doberman Pinscher/Black Labrador genes I am a whopping 52#/lbs and have a ton of energy and muscle that needs to be worked! Because of this it would be best if I was paired with an active family who knows how to keep a dog mentally stimulated and respects my boundaries well. No apartment living for me please! No cats or small children either! My caretakers have learned some important things about me: I am a chow-hound and will try to eat anything I can get my hands on! So please leave food out of reach from me or I'll swoop it all up. Secondly, I would prefer if people didn't grab things that I have in my mouth, it's mine not yours hehe! Overall, I am a big-hearted dog who wants to go play, be adventurous, have fun with other people and dogs! I am however not such a big fan of car rides, they make my tummy feel sick eww! I love all people and dogs, am a healthy, happy boy and just want to find my home. Let's work together and find it!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Reign is a stunning blue female Doberman who we rescued out of a California shelter after she had been there over a month. Reign was very neglected and underweight. We are working on showing her the good life in foster and helping her gain weight! - 55 pounds but needs to gain another 5 pounds - Approximately 3 years old (this is an estimate by our vet) - Adores both men and women. She even climbs into her foster dad's lap for cuddles and falls asleep. Total Velcro dog with the typical Doberman lean into you. She can be reserved with strangers and may bark a few times intially. This is pretty typical Doberman behavior. She warms up quickly with treats. Be a human treat dispenser and within about 5 minutes Reign becomes friendly with new people. - Dog selective and needs slow introductions. Does best with calmer dogs who also enjoy playing. She is fostered with a female Shepherd mix and her foster family did slow introductions the first few days and now both dogs are good friends, playing and even sleeping cuddled up together. If you have a dog social dog and are willing to invest the time into a gradual introduction, Reign can live with another dog in harmony. - No cats. She does seem to have a prey drive. - Great mix of energy when you want it and the ability to relax and settle into the home when you want to have a more chill day. - Huge food drive. This may be in part to Reign's starvation state but she is very food motivated and a fast eater. A slow feeder bowl really helps her to slow down at meal times. She does need boundaries around food with people and other dogs as she tries to gobble what food she can get. Her foster family feeds her in her crate during their meal times so that she enjoys her own food while they are eating theirs. Her food drive makes her super fun to train though! She loves learning and is very motivated to work for you with treats. - Good with gentle kids and fostered with kids ages 7+ years old. We are recommending kids ages 7+ if there are kids in the home. - Very much loves soft beds, blankies and a cozy indoor life. She will appreciate sweaters and jackets to keep her warm during cold Oregon months. Dobermans have thin coats and don't generally appreciate the rain. - Sleeps in her crate at night and does well with that. It can take her a couple minutes to settle but she then sleeps through the night. - Perfect potty habits in foster so far - Good on leash but does seem interested in chasing cars that pass. Her foster family is working on this tendency since they live in a high traffic area. Reign wears a prong collar and that has helped immensely with her pulling. She can be a strong puller, but the prong collar has been a game changer for her to walk easy on leash. Reign is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Portland or Tualatin. $150 adoption fee Fostered in SE Portland, Oregon APPLY TO ADOPT REIGN ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG
