Weighing in at 40 pounds, Jackson is a testament to resilience and hope. Despite his challenging past, this sweet boy is full of love and ready to find a forever home where he will never be left behind again. Jackson's Story Jackson endured a heartbreaking beginning when his previous owners moved out of state, leaving him and his family behind in deplorable conditions. Yet, through it all, Jackson's spirit has remained unbroken. His loyalty and affection shine brightly, making him a perfect companion for anyone who appreciates the unwavering bond a dog can offer. Jackson's Personality Jackson is a classic "velcro dog," always eager to be close to his people. Here are some key traits that define this remarkable Doberman mix: Affectionate and Loving: Jackson thrives on love and attention. He enjoys cuddling and cherishes every moment spent with his human companions. Playful and Energetic: With a zest for life, Jackson loves to play and explore. His playful spirit makes him a wonderful partner for outdoor activities and adventures. Loyal and Devoted: Jackson's loyalty is unmatched. He forms strong bonds with his family and is always eager to shower them with affection. Trained and Well-Behaved: Jackson walks beautifully on a leash and has been trained, making him a delightful companion on walks and outings. Health and Well-being Jackson is fully vaccinated and neutered, ensuring he's ready to join a loving family without delay. His health and well-being are paramount, and regular veterinary care will help maintain his condition. What to Expect When Adopting Jackson Adopting a rescue dog like Jackson can be a deeply rewarding experience. Here are some considerations for prospective families: Active Lifestyle: Jackson thrives in an active environment where he can engage in regular walks and playtime. His energetic nature means he will flourish in a family that enjoys outdoor adventures. Indoor Living: Jackson will not be placed as an outdoor guard dog. He deserves to live inside with a family that loves him as much as he loves them. Adjustment Period: While Jackson is already trained, he may need time to adjust to his new home. Patience and understanding will help him feel secure and comfortable. Owner Responsibilities Bringing Jackson into your home is a commitment that requires dedication and care. Here are some responsibilities to ensure his well-being: Safe Environment: Ensure your home is a secure and comfortable space for Jackson, with plenty of room for him to play and relax. Regular Veterinary Care: Keep up with Jackson's vaccinations, check-ups, and any necessary medical treatments to maintain his health. Balanced Diet: Provide a nutritious diet suited to Jackson's size and activity level, alongside fresh water at all times. Grooming Needs: Regular grooming, including brushing and occasional baths, will help keep Jackson's coat healthy and shiny. Love and Attention: Spend quality time with Jackson, offering the affection and companionship he craves. His loving nature ensures he will return your care with endless devotion. Jackson would flourish in a lively family environment. He is NOT suited for a role as an outdoor guard dog. He deserves to live indoors with a family that will love him as deeply as he loves them.  Are you ready to welcome Jackson into your life? Story
Rooster is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. This handsome boy was found as a stray running out in the country. He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He will probably weigh in the 60-pound range when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed mixture but think he may have some lab and Doberman in him. Rooster has a great personality and disposition. He loves all of the other rescue dogs, big and small. He loves people and will lie at your feet whenever he can. He loves water and the garden fountain is his favorite spot to hang out and keep cool. Rooster is a very sweet and goofy puppy. He is pretty much house-trained and runs to go outside with his buddies. He will need some leash training and would probably do better with a harness. We have no idea of how he is with cats. Rooster loves to run and play with his dog friends and toys. He may not be suitable for a home with small children because he may knock them over when running and playing. Rooster needs a fully fenced-in and secure yard. He will be a great dog for hiking or going to the dog park. He is an active boy and will run around the yard with a toy in his mouth playing tag with his buddies. He likes to be the leader and have everyone chase him. Rooster would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs. Rooster is a healthy and happy boy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Roosters' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Vancouver WA. Rooster is fostered by our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Great news! My adoption fee has been paid by someone who loves me and wants me to find a great home. Here's what you need to know about me:I'm an active dog! I would love to go home with a family who can help me burn off energy with exercise, playtime, and outdoor adventures.I'd like a home where my family is home often, this helps me adjust in my new home. I'm just really social and love spending time with people, I prefer to not be left alone for long periods. It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along. Primary Color: Tan Weight: 48.375 Age: 0yrs 6mths 3wks

Story
MEET PHOENIX! This handsome 8-year-old Dobie-Rottie mix needs a home! He was rescued from a shelter where he was a shelter favorite, and is currently in the Los Angeles area.. He weighs approx. 80 lbs. Phoenix is still an active and loving guy and will do best with an active person or people who can get him plenty of exercise. He has many positive traits - he is affectionate (he loves to give hugs once he knows you!), he walks well on a leash, and he is a very loyal and sweet dog. He will be your best friend for life . Phoenix prefers to have his person or people around, and will howl just a little if he is lonely. But he is not a barker unless its warranted. He can be a bit protective of his people and his property, and as such, he is dog-reactive on a leash. Phoenix would thrive as an only dog, or at least as an only male dog. He would be a great companion for the right person who has experience with strong breeds and who understands the mindset and loyalty of a dog like Phoenix. Please email for an application.

What my friends at OHS say about me:I have been working with the Behavior and Training team here at OHS for consistency and am looking for a special home. It will take time and patience to get to know me. You'll need to meet with me multiple times before taking me home.To learn more about my specific needs, please read my What to Expect handout. I am part of the special rescue effort to help shelters in California that were impacted by the L.A. wildfires.I hope you're a fan of comedy, because my goofy personality is sure to make you smile!Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.Someone very familiar with canine body language is a must for me. Therefore, I may not be the best option for a first-time dog owner. Then again, if you are willing to put in the work, then let's roll the dice and see where this adventure takes us.Making new friends is so much fun! I'm a very social and confident guy.I love to be around people! I'd make a great buddy for curling up on the couch to watch a movie.Stick a bandana on me and let's go check those hikes off your bucket list! The type of home I'm looking for: I need to go to a home without small children.I would flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.I need a home without cats or other small animals.I need to be the only dog in the home.My energy and size can be a lot for little kids, but I would do great with older, dog-savvy children. It could be with you! Story
Meet Easton! He is currently 16 weeks old, 18 lbs, and we think he may be a miniature pinchser/Lab mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! Based on his current age and size we think he will be medium sized when full grown. Watch Easton's video here: * coming soon * Easton is playful, sweet, curious, and cuddly. He loves to play with his sibling and then take lots of naps. Eat, sleep, play, repeat - such is puppy life! Easton is still young so he will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. His new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and hikes or show off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! Application link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6761ad34a91f9c836508885f Please email Leah.Smith@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Available for adoption in NV, MT, CO,UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and now the East Coast! Our PNW dogs are brought to you in style by a beautiful USDA licensed semi-truck, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and 2 onboard attendants providing 24 hour care. Our East Coast route will travel in a private, air conditioned 3LP-run van transport. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. One of our Adoption Coordinators can help to find the closest transport pick up location to you! The adoption fee is $1,200.00 and includes all vetting as recommended by our doctor: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine (if old enough), multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2 months of heartworm preventative, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! *WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW or the NE at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 6 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $74 surcharge for transport. DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics, and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake.
