Story
MEET PHOENIX! This handsome 8-year-old Dobie-Rottie mix needs a home! He was rescued from a shelter where he was a shelter favorite, and is currently in the Los Angeles area.. He weighs approx. 80 lbs. Phoenix is still an active and loving guy and will do best with an active person or people who can get him plenty of exercise. He has many positive traits - he is affectionate (he loves to give hugs once he knows you!), he walks well on a leash, and he is a very loyal and sweet dog. He will be your best friend for life . Phoenix prefers to have his person or people around, and will howl just a little if he is lonely. But he is not a barker unless its warranted. He can be a bit protective of his people and his property, and as such, he is dog-reactive on a leash. Phoenix would thrive as an only dog, or at least as an only male dog. He would be a great companion for the right person who has experience with strong breeds and who understands the mindset and loyalty of a dog like Phoenix. Please email for an application.

Story
MEET NOBU, a regal and handsome purebred 5-year-old red Doberman Pinscher in need of a foster or forever home. Nobu (his name signifies perseverance) was rescued from a crowded California shelter, where he had a kennel mate. Nobu is a calm and dignified dog, though he can be lively when excitement happens (such as squirrels!). He walks well on a leash, and gets along great with other dogs. He is friendly with people, and deeply affectionate with people he knows and loves. He will make a devoted and loving companion to his adopter(s), and will do well with a single person, a couple or a family with older kids (over 6). He loves human companionship, so would also thrive with someone who works from home or who is retired. Nobu weighs 80 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
**Fostered in Kenmore, WA and ready for meet and greets!** This cutie is Sweet Caroline. She is currently 5 months old, and we think she may have some doberman or coonhound in her, but with rescue it’s a guess! What matters most is that she is an adorable, spunky puppy, full of enthusiasm, hoping for a loving forever home. You name the game, and she's up for it. Caroline loves to play! Chase? Yes please! Wrestling with other dogs? Oh gosh yes! Toys? The more the merrier! This girl says YES to life. She has lots of joy to share with you. Caroline is a good girl in her crate and is quickly making amazing progress on house training--she's about 90% potty trained now. She just got to a new foster home in the Seattle area a week ago and is learning the ropes. She is a very smart dog! She's already grasped the SIT command and has incredible recall! And she's learning how to walk on a leash. Mostly, though, she wants to give kisses and get belly rubs. The Houston, TX area, where this puppy is from, is one of the riskiest places in the nation for pets. Shelters in this area are having to euthanize puppies. Caroline needs you! If you adopt her, you save her life AND make room for her foster to take in another desperate pup. Caroline is still young so she will need a family that can commit to training, socialization, and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Her new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. In return, your new best friend will give you plenty of kisses and laughter! Are you a walker, hiker, or jogger? Caroline will make an excellent exercise buddy! She wants to go EVERYWHERE with you and she'll make you smile every step of the way with her goofy, unbridled enthusiasm. Adopt Caroline! Story
Meet Hazel Nut, a 1.5-year-old Doberman mix with a heart as sweet as her name! Hazel is the ultimate family dog—gentle, loving, and ready to fit right into your home. Fall in love with Hazel here: Hazel has a special way with children. She’s been around kids of all ages, including a three-year-old and two children under 7 that shes living with, and her gentle, nurturing nature shines through in every interaction. Whether she’s playing outside with them or happily accepting belly rubs, Hazel is always calm and attentive. She even has a knack for consoling little ones when they’re upset, providing snuggles and affection whenever they need a friend. This sweet girl also gets along great with other dogs and cats. Hazel currently lives with three dogs and two cats, and she’s respectful and friendly with everyone. She would do wonderfully in a home with other animals, given proper introductions. Already potty trained and working on her crate training, Hazel is well on her way to being the perfect house companion. She’s incredibly food motivated and is always eager to learn. On daily pack walks, Hazel impresses with her excellent heel, making her a fantastic walking partner. She’s also great in the car, so she’ll be more than happy to join your family on outings and adventures. One of Hazel’s most endearing qualities is her love for snuggling. She enjoys resting her head on you and gazing up with her soulful eyes, content to cuddle for hours. And while she’s not much of a barker—her foster mom has only heard her bark twice—Hazel loves to “talk” to her humans, especially when she hasn’t seen them in a while. Her happiness and affection are always on full display. This sweet, sweet girl is currently undergoing heartworm treatment and will be ready to travel to her forever family in mid-November. Hazel is ready to bring her big heart and happy energy to a home that will include her in all the family fun and love she deserves! Story
Rooster is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. This handsome boy was found as a stray running out in the country. He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He will probably weigh in the 60-pound range when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed mixture but think he may have some lab and Doberman in him. Rooster has a great personality and disposition. He loves all of the other rescue dogs, big and small. He loves people and will lie at your feet whenever he can. He loves water and the garden fountain is his favorite spot to hang out and keep cool. Rooster is a very sweet and goofy puppy. He is pretty much house-trained and runs to go outside with his buddies. He will need some leash training and would probably do better with a harness. We have no idea of how he is with cats. Rooster loves to run and play with his dog friends and toys. He may not be suitable for a home with small children because he may knock them over when running and playing. Rooster needs a fully fenced-in and secure yard. He will be a great dog for hiking or going to the dog park. He is an active boy and will run around the yard with a toy in his mouth playing tag with his buddies. He likes to be the leader and have everyone chase him. Rooster would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs. Rooster is a healthy and happy boy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Roosters' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Vancouver WA. Rooster is fostered by our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. MEET DARLA! Darla is a sweet and gentle 6-year-old purebred Doberman Pinscher. (Purebred verified by DNA testing). She is elegant, pretty and very affectionate -- and she gets along great with other dogs. Darla was rescued from a crowded California shelter, and now is a big favorite with volunteers, who call her a "real sweetheart". She is a well-behaved girl, but is quite strong, and will pull when she sees squirrels on a walk! Darla is in good health. She dos have a small lump on her underside, but this has been vet-checked and determined to be a benign fatty tumor, not a source of potential trouble. Darla will be totally devoted to her person. She is a gem and whomever adopts her will be very lucky. She weighs about 65 lbs. Please email for an application.

MEET CARTER! Carter is a 3- to 4-year-old male Doberman-German Shepherd mix (50/50 per DNA testing) who needs a foster or forever home! He looks more like a Dobie than a German Shepherd, and is sweet as they come! Carter was rescued from a scary California shelter, where he was kenneled with another dog and did great.
