Odin is a sweet cuddly boy. He is 14 months old,and has tons of energy. Regular exercise is required, as Dobermans are smart, active dogs. Very athletic. He needs a new home because of a badly broken leg. My leg, not his...lol He comes with an extra large crate, leashes, collars, toys etc.

She is a wonderful dog. She knows how to sit and shake. She does still have a problem with play bitting and jumping on people. She is a little timid and shy around people but will warm up to a new person fast.

Story
Lynn is a beautiful 1-1/2 year old female (possible) Doberman Pinscher mix who was brought to the HSOV on September 10, 2024 by a Good Samaritan who had found her on Mitchells Lane in the Marietta Ohio area. Lynn was wearing a collar, but there was neither an id tag nor a dog tag on her collar .. And she was not microchipped. Lynn has a sleek black short smooth coat with tan shading on her chest/legs, a small patch of white/black on her chest, a rather long body, a long tail, and an adorable face with dark brown eyes, tan eyebrows, a long slender muzzle, and large ears that she occasionally holds erect. This young lady was understandably a bit confused and nervous when she first entered our shelter, so our HSOV kennel techs/staff gave her extra TLC in a quiet area of our shelter for several days. These pictures of Lynn were taken on the afternoon of September 16th when HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver spent time with her for outdoor photos. Lynn was much more relaxed and responded to Emily's gentle encouragement .. And she was soon 'sitting pretty' for many of her photos. It was touching to see Lynn looking for guidance from Emily (and to see her giving Emily some great hugs and nice 'puppy kisses' before she was returned to her floor crate in the garage). Lynn weighs approximately 50 lbs and walked fairly well on a leash with Emily by her side. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Lynn was held for three days so that her family would have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership. Sadly, nobody called or came looking for this beautiful girl. Update: Lynn went home with a foster family on October 2, 2024 who offered her a temporary home where she will enjoy the freedom of a real home environment instead of a shelter kennel. If you are interested in giving Lynn a permanent home, please complete/submit an HSOV foster- or adoption application for approval .. And we will arrange a meet-and-greet with her foster family.

Story
Rooster is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. This handsome boy was found as a stray running out in the country. He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He will probably weigh in the 60-pound range when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed mixture but think he may have some lab and Doberman in him. Rooster has a great personality and disposition. He loves all of the other rescue dogs, big and small. He loves people and will lie at your feet whenever he can. He loves water and the garden fountain is his favorite spot to hang out and keep cool. Rooster is a very sweet and goofy puppy. He is pretty much house-trained and runs to go outside with his buddies. He will need some leash training and would probably do better with a harness. We have no idea of how he is with cats. Rooster loves to run and play with his dog friends and toys. He may not be suitable for a home with small children because he may knock them over when running and playing. Rooster needs a fully fenced-in and secure yard. He will be a great dog for hiking or going to the dog park. He is an active boy and will run around the yard with a toy in his mouth playing tag with his buddies. He likes to be the leader and have everyone chase him. Rooster would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs. Rooster is a healthy and happy boy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Roosters' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to Columbus, Akron, or Cincinnati Ohio. Rooster resides with our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Please email kathy@houstonshaggydogrescue.org if you are interested in adopting this good boy. You may also find them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/houstonshaggydogrescue
