Story
Nova is an energetic girl that needs to know her boundaries right from day one. She needs someone that will keep her in check. She is good with dogs of all sizes and does doggy daycare at Paws by the Lake. She is approximately 3 yr old Doberman weighing 45 lbs. Nova is a compact small Dobie with your typical Doberman personality. She is loyal, athletic, energetic and super smart. Nova would love to find a home with someone that has had a Doberman in the past and LOVES the breed! She is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands (sit, stay, down). Nova has been professionally trained and she loves to do her obedience sessions. She loves agility too! Nova is food motivated and that is very helpful to get her focus. She has not lived with a cat so a cat-less home would be best. Nova would do best with a fenced yard to help with her energy level but she also needs structured walks. Nova is looking for an owner that understands how smart she is and has time to exercise her and stimulate her brilliant mind. Nova is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Nova has not lived with children, so an adult home is best. If you are interested in Nova, please submit an online application so we can learn a little about you to make sure Nova would be a good match. We do not do out of state adoptions, due to our trial adoption process. Adoption fee/donation is $100.00 If you have specific questions, please email the adoption coordinator at info@loveastraydog.com If you can't foster or adopt, please consider donating to help us with medical expenses and ongoing care. You can mail your donation to: Love-A-Stray, P.O. Box 125, Attn: Nova, Avon Lake, OH 44012 or visit www.loveastraydog.com for credit card/PayPal information, adoption application, available dogs and upcoming events. Thank you!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Amish dog very rough  J oe Bob, affectionately known as "Joey," is a sweet 2-year-old red Doberman who has overcome a difficult beginning. Rescued from an Amish breeder, Joey's past was one of little care, medical attention, or affection. But now, he's slowly discovering what it means to give and receive love. Joey's journey has come with some unique traits that make him all the more special. He has a distinctive cleft nose, which doesn't require any surgery – we think it adds to his charm! Despite his challenging past, Joey had successful surgery to correct entropion, a condition affecting his eyelid. Joey loves to carry around fabric items like towels, blankets, or anything soft he can find. He's also a big fan of chewing on deer antlers and Nylabones. This sweet boy craves gentle affection and adores pets and scratches. Every day, he shows us just how much he wants to trust people, and he’s making beautiful progress. Joey is wonderful with kids and other dogs, though he can be a bit timid when meeting new people. Once he warms up, he becomes a total love bug, ready to snuggle and play. He has moderate energy, enjoying a balance of running laps around the backyard with his foster dog siblings and curling up on the couch for some cuddle time. Joey does get startled by loud noises and will need a home with a secure, fenced yard where he can safely play and explore. He has a high prey drive, so he isn’t a good fit for homes with cats or small animals like chickens or bunnies. He's been fantastic with children of all ages. Joey has been working with a trainer and has already mastered several commands like sit, heel, come, place, no, and leave it. With continued training, he’s sure to blossom even more. He’s looking for an adopter who has patience and time to help him continue his journey towards trust and love. Joey is ready to find his forever home.  Is it yours?  Apply at www.DUdobes.org Doberman Underground adopts to Ohio and some close in parts of bordering states.  There is a full list of states and specific counties we adopt to at the top of our application.   * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *  Sponsor Me by purchasing: Toys / Treats $10.00 USDLeash & Collar $15.00 USDMonth of Food $35.00 USDMonthly Heartworm/Flea/Tick $40.00 USDTransportation Costs $60.00 USDVaccinations $100.00 USDSpay / Neuter $150.00 USDThyroid Panel $150.00 USDIncoming vetting $300.00 USDHeartworm Treatment $1,500.00 USD  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 19, 2024, 5:04 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Charleston is a spirited 1-year-old red Doberman ready to embark on his next adventure with a loving forever family. Rescued along with 26 other Dobermans from a rough situation with a "breeder" in West Virginia, Charleston has come a long way and is eager to embrace his bright future! This high-energy boy is a true working dog who thrives when he has a job to do. Whether it's long walks, games of fetch, wrestling with a canine buddy, or chewing on a sturdy bone, Charleston is always ready for action. A fenced yard is ideal for him, providing a safe space to zoom around and burn off his energy. Charleston is incredibly curious and loves exploring new things. After living in a kennel, the world is a new and exciting place for him! While he's cautious with unfamiliar experiences, his confidence grows quickly once he realizes there's no threat. Despite his active nature, Charleston has a sweet and snuggly side. This velcro Doberman will happily curl up next to his people when it’s time to relax. In his foster home, he’s learned to bond with the other large dogs, enjoying playful chases and wrestling matches. Older kids are a great match for Charleston, but he’s too much for small children, and their energy can make him nervous. He hasn’t been cat tested. Charleston is making great progress with basic commands like come, down, off, and even kiss!  An experienced Doberman owner who has a canine companion to keep him entertained will be everything Charleston needs to thrive and bring endless love and joy to his home. Are you ready to give Charleston the active, loving life he deserves? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Flip is an adorable 6-month-old red Doberman with a personality as charming as his floppy ears. This little dynamo is all puppy, bursting with energy typical of a Doberman youngster.  Flip adores running around the yard, and he gets along wonderfully with his foster family's Doberman, both indoors and out. While he's still figuring out the mysteries of snowflakes landing on the grass, Flip is fully potty-trained and does an excellent job letting you know when he needs to go out by running to the door. He’s learning commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “down” and is eager to keep growing into a well-mannered companion.  He's a quick earner and will do well in training! Flip loves toys, especially chew bones, though some don’t stand a chance against his playful enthusiasm. After a full day of fun, Flip enjoys quiet moments—whether it’s curling up beside you for a nap or sitting patiently for a back massage that quickly sends him into a blissful trance. Flip is looking for an active home where he’ll get plenty of attention, regular walks, and lots of playtime. His love for fetch makes him a great match for a family with kids who can keep up with his boundless energy. Because of his high energy and puppy antics, Flip needs a companion dog to play with and help him learn the ropes and an adopter with prior Doberman or large working breed ownership experience. If you’re ready for a loyal, lively addition to your family, Flip might just be your perfect match!  Apply at www.DUdobes.org.  Doberman Underground adopts to Ohio and some close in parts of surrounding states.  Please check the list of states and specific counties we adopt to at the start of our online application to be sure you live in our adoption area.   * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *  Sponsor Me by purchasing: Toys / Treats $10.00 USDLeash & Collar $15.00 USDMonth of Food $35.00 USDMonthly Heartworm/Flea/Tick $40.00 USDTransportation Costs $60.00 USDVaccinations $100.00 USDSpay / Neuter $150.00 USDThyroid Panel $150.00 USDIncoming vetting $300.00 USDHeartworm Treatment $1,500.00 USD  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 19, 2025, 4:37 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  P enelope is a 4-month-old Doberman puppy who is ready to bring joy, love, and her signature wiggly charm to her forever home! This adorable girl is a sweet and affectionate companion, though she’s not overly generous with kisses—when you do get one, it’s extra special. She loves nothing more than to snuggle up next to you, melting hearts with her soulful eyes and the cutest little noises she makes while sniffing or soaking up pets and hugs. True to her nickname "Wiggles," Penelope's nub can't stop wiggling anytime someone talks to her—her happiness is contagious! She’s a playful pup who loves romping around in a safe, fenced yard with her foster canine siblings, and she’ll need a furry playmate in her forever home who’s up for some enthusiastic puppy play. While Penelope is still learning about the world, her curious and fast-learning nature helps her adjust quickly to new experiences. She’s done well meeting a few children and could thrive in a home with gentle, kind kids who give her a little time to feel safe and confident. Penelope has shown little interest in cats and parrots in her foster home, so she should be able to live peacefully with them after a proper introduction. This smart girl is making great progress with potty training and does well on a consistent schedule. She’s also learning basic obedience commands and is crate-trained, which will help her settle into her new home.   Penelope’s ideal family is one that will shower her with love, provide plenty of snuggles, and offer reassurance when she feels nervous. A calm yet playful canine sibling is a must to keep her happy and help her grow into the amazing dog we know she’ll be.  Prior Doberman or large working breed ownership experience is required.
