Rooster is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. This handsome boy was found as a stray running out in the country. He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He will probably weigh in the 60-pound range when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed mixture but think he may have some lab and Doberman in him. Rooster has a great personality and disposition. He loves all of the other rescue dogs, big and small. He loves people and will lie at your feet whenever he can. He loves water and the garden fountain is his favorite spot to hang out and keep cool. Rooster is a very sweet and goofy puppy. He is pretty much house-trained and runs to go outside with his buddies. He will need some leash training and would probably do better with a harness. We have no idea of how he is with cats. Rooster loves to run and play with his dog friends and toys. He may not be suitable for a home with small children because he may knock them over when running and playing. Rooster needs a fully fenced-in and secure yard. He will be a great dog for hiking or going to the dog park. He is an active boy and will run around the yard with a toy in his mouth playing tag with his buddies. He likes to be the leader and have everyone chase him. Rooster would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs. Rooster is a healthy and happy boy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Roosters' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to Ridgefield NJ, Rye NY, or Nanuet NY.Rooster resides with our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Hi, I’m Jerry! My favorite word is pet. I melt in your hands when you pet me, I just love looking into your eyes and feeling loved. My foster sister is a hard shell to crack, she’s picky with other dogs she likes..but I’m winning her over more and more every day. I’m super submissive, patient and gentle. I love other dogs, I just wanna play! I’m crate trained, so far house broken, but need some leash practice. Because I was abandoned I’m practicing food and water insecurity and separation anxiety (I’m just so excited that I have these things now!). I’m learning not to counter surf, I’m doing my best. My foster mommy says I get better every day. She also says I’m super smart! I learned sit in two days, I’m pretty good at “stay,” and I’ve been working on this fun trick my foster sister does. Maybe I can show you some time.. I’m learning so many new sounds! Airplanes, cars, hawks flying above me. I get a little nervous, but my foster mommy says I don’t pull when I’m scared, I’m just ready to walk back home. I’m more curious than anything. I’m really SO sweet. I still have some “puppy energy” so would do best in a home with a dog that loves to play or a backyard I can run in. Honey is a sweet two year old Doberman/husky mix. Sadly, her mommy has a terminal illness and has reached out to us to find Honey the perfect forever home. Honey is spayed, up-to-date on all required vaccines, HW negative and micro chipped. Honey is sweet and affectionate but a little awkward. She just needs a little bit of training to become that perfect dog. Training her mom just hasn’t been up to lately. Honey has one beautiful blue eye and the most adorable ears I’ve ever seen. She weighs about 55 pounds. She would do well with older children that wouldn't be knocked over as well as a good natured doggy sibling. Phoenix! This lovely, squishy medium sized (maybe 55 lbs) girl is around 2-3 years old. She was originally adopted from us as a puppy but returned for not getting along with the other pets in the home. Phoenix should be an only pet in her new home, but is a lovely girl willing to give you all her love. She would benefit from a diet and losing a little weight. She is a great girl who is fully housebroken (but may have a few small accidents as she gets acclimated) and crate trained. She would be fine with older, school aged children.
