Story
Forever in Foster CareReina will be a forever foster in DRM's Program and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.    Meet Reina! This girl is 7 years old and is handicapable! Reina was originally rescued from a high kill shelter by an all breed rescue. It was apparent she suffered from neurological issues, but nothing could be found on x-rays of her spine. DRM then stepped in and welcomed Reina into our program to get the help needed so she can thrive!   Reina was born with a condition that caused the nerves from her back legs to brain to not map completely. Sometimes she can be a bit wobbly and sometimes she suffers from incontinence. She is on a special diet that has helped a lot with her potty issues though!  Reina’s favorite activities include snuggling her humans, chewing on bones, going for walks, playdates with her friends and exploring the yard. She also LOVES to chase rabbits and squirrels! When she’s tuckered out, she’ll sunbathe looking out the window or hang out with her foster family.  Reina has lived with other dogs and cats – she’s awesome with dogs but can be very curious about her feline friends. Reina is super smart and knows all the basic commands. Her recall is great (as long as she’s not scouting for bunnies or squirrels) and she is very food motivated to learn anything else you’d like to teach her. She is a hit around the neighborhood with her sunny disposition and love of everyone she meets. November 5, 2024, 9:35 pm

Sunny was surrendered to DRM in 2018 after her owner passed away and has been loved by her foster mom since then. Sunny is a smart girl and knows all of her basic commands. She also lets you know when she must go outside by pawing at your hand and giving you a quick kiss. She loves to run around in the yard and when she’s tired out, she wants to rest by your side.   Sunny wants nothing more than to be by your side and craves attention. Her foster reports that she just wants to be loved and feel safe!  Please read all adoption steps and policies carefully on our website. http://dobermanrescueminnesota.com/adoption-steps/ Qualified adopters are within the approved adoption area, and Adopter will be requested to visit this foster dog at the foster family home. Story
Beautiful girl looking for perfect home!! Delilah is doing well! Not only is she soooo beautiful, she can be such a sweetie pie! She is Velcro to her foster mom much of the day and loves to cuddle. She is soooo smart, she has learned to sit, go sit by the door (her potty cue), she knows "wait" , "come" & "stay" and shake! She definitely loves chew toys, so lots of of tuff chew toys are good to have on hand. Delilah is better with older(12+), slower more calmer kids. She would not be good in a home that is busy, loud, and has small children. Delilah was not socialized well and can still be nervous in new situations and around new people or animals, so we have to be cautious about introductions, but it seems she is attentive to foster mom for cues on if the situation is ok/safe and she seems to be able to be calmed/distracted before she gets too agitated. Delilah needs a home that will be patient and understanding with her and will earn her trust through calmness, dependability and most importantly lots of love!!! Having a home with a physical fence would be recommended especially if neighbors are near for this will just make her world more peaceful and a better environment for her to feel safe in her own yard.  This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog. New to DRM, stay tuned for more info!!Raine, 3 year old spayed female is a spunky, smart, sweet, shy, petite girl that is going to definitely be someone's best friend! She is very smart and knows lots of tricks, has to be with her human always. She carries around her stuffies called her "babies" all of the time! They are a comfort to her. She is so smart that she learned our routine in just 2 days! She also took to the kennel really fast. She does need something to occupy her time, so we give her a treat ball and hard bone with some peanut butter. She does require the use of a plastic kennel and no wire kennel.  This girl needs very slow intros to people as well as other dogs. No small dogs or kids. We are still working on her getting along with other dogs and some treat aggression. She would be a great only dog. She likes to think that she is first, she was the only dog in her previous home. This girl needs someone with lots of Doberman experience, patience and time to let her get comfortable and earn her trust. She is very shy and it may take more then one visit to get to know her and to see if she is a good fit. This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog. She's almost 1 and ready to bring the laughs with her crate-trained, car-loving, people-friendly personality. Just be sure to keep an eye on her when you're away, left alone a little too long and she will get nervous and scared and can start to get into stuff.  But hey, at least she's fully potty trained and knows some basic commands! Story
Hi, my name is Fury! But I'm more like a happy, gentle breeze that wants to have fun! You might recognize my name from the famous character Director Nick Fury of the Marvel movies, I'm kinda like him: I love being the center of attention and don't like it when people take my stuff! I am a big dog! With my mixed Doberman Pinscher/Black Labrador genes I am a whopping 52#/lbs and have a ton of energy and muscle that needs to be worked! Because of this it would be best if I was paired with an active family who knows how to keep a dog mentally stimulated and respects my boundaries well. No apartment living for me please! No cats or small children either! My caretakers have learned some important things about me: I am a chow-hound and will try to eat anything I can get my hands on! So please leave food out of reach from me or I'll swoop it all up. Secondly, I would prefer if people didn't grab things that I have in my mouth, it's mine not yours hehe! Overall, I am a big-hearted dog who wants to go play, be adventurous, have fun with other people and dogs! I am however not such a big fan of car rides, they make my tummy feel sick eww! I love all people and dogs, am a healthy, happy boy and just want to find my home. Let's work together and find it!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Hi! I'm Gillis. From his foster: Gillis is an extremely sweet boy who just loves to snuggle! Once he feels secure, you'll see his true, affectionate personality shine through. He has come leaps and bounds with socialization! Athletic and agile, Gillis has plenty of energy to burn and loves playing in the backyard. He'd make an excellent running partner for active individuals! Gillis is potty trained. He currently lives with another foster pup and the resident cat. He loves playing with the other dog and is curious about other dogs during walks. Gillis barks when he is crated during the day, so he will need a home without shared walls. I can't emphasize enough how sweet Gillis is. He's surprisingly docile when you earn his trust, allowing you to check his teeth or handle his paws with ease. Gillis slept perfectly in his crate the first night, but he quickly bonded with me so I have been letting him sleep in my bed. It has worked wonderfully, and he's earned my trust around the house. Are you ready to welcome this sweet boy into your heart and home?

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please help us by fostering  TODAY!!!!! ________________________________________________________ We try to evaluate  most of our adoptable dogs temperament  with a senior UDR rescuer before it goes into a foster home. This helps ensure we place it in the right foster home. We may have some dogs in rescue who are not on our website that we are getting to know and who may need a foster home. Our goal is to place dogs in the right foster and adoptive homes! Of course it is up to the fosters to further evaluate the dogs while they are living in the home.  New arrivals coming soon! We partner with Doberman Rescue of Northern Texas, High Desert Doberman Rescue and many other rescues across the US and world. We have new Dobermans coming in often and have the ability to take in a homeless Dobermans the same day we are contacted should we get a surrender request. We can always use fosters to be on the ready to foster one of these new arrivals!         Please apply on our website to foster, or give a shout out if you can help any of these dogs!! As always fosters get the first chance to adopt! You provide a safe, loving home with daily structure until your foster dog gets adopted. Time frame is anywhere from a couple weeks to a few months. If you have a dog, your dog may like a friend. We try match up the dog with the foster home best suited for each dog in need. UDR supplies all the dog food, some supplies and always pays for vet care. Going on vacation and worried you will have to find a place for your foster dog?? NO worries!!!Know we DO have numerous options for vacation boarding and doing temporary fostering of your foster dog while you take that much needed vacation. We are also in need of short term fosters, those foster homes who would take in a foster dog on a short term basis, a weekend, a week or two, even to help in emergency or medical situations. Please fill out our foster application today and help a dog in need!!!  Fosters get first chance to adopt their foster dogs, so this might be a great way to "test" out your new friend. Fostering has its perks!! Many fosters do join the foster failure club, meaning they end up adopting their foster dog! Why should I foster a dog? Fostering a dog is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have (other than adopting, of course). By taking an animal in need temporarily into your home you’re: freeing up a spot so a shelter can take in another dog. giving your foster dog the time he needs to be ready for adoption. helping us learn more about the dog so he can end up in the best home possible. socializing the dog to a home environment and possibly getting him used to being around other pets and different types of people. Thank you for helping us help them! Fostering saves lives. Be a hero, foster a dog in need! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All potential adopters must fill out  the adoption application. Please read our adoption policies page in its entirety before filling out application-failure to do so may delay the adoption process. Please answer all questions on the application, failure to do so may result in your application being denied. We do not adopt on a first come first serve basis but what is the best fit for our dogs.  We do give preference to homes with fenced yards. Puppies must live in homes with fenced yards. Those with no fencing must have a plan in place for daily activity and bathroom breaks for adult dogs. With the exception of Meet and Greets, y ou will not be able to meet our adoptable animals until the adoption application is submitted online and the home visit is completed. We will not place adult rescue dogs in homes with young children under 6 years old, with the exception of puppies 6 months and under, we will adopt to families with children under 6 years old, but a fenced yard is mandatory. Our dogs must live indoors with their humans and never left outdoors alone or in a kennel or yard unattended. You must be willing to use a crate and sign up for formal obedience classes. You must be 21 and own your home. We will not adopt outside of the USA. We will not ship our dogs. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Layla, a beautiful 4-year-old Doberman who made her way to us all the way from New Mexico, thanks to Pilots and Paws! Layla is spayed, fully vetted, and ready to find her forever home. She's a bit on the shy side, but as we get to know her, we're discovering just how sweet and gentle she can be. Layla has a prey drive, so she'll need a home that understands her instincts. Laylay has a great recall with her foster family! She does well with other dogs, but slow and careful introductions are key to helping her feel comfortable. If you're looking for a loyal companion who just needs a little time to warm up, Layla could be the perfect addition to your family! Crate and housetrained already, this girl will be easy to introduce into your home! When Layla was first rescued she was severely emaciated (see picture) and in rough shape physically. Today she is the healthy version of herself thanks to many rescuers who cared. She was so very much worth saving from the streets near the Mexican border. She is such a happy girl, so smart and willing to be the best girl she can for her people.
