Story
Hi! I’m Commander, a Doberman mix and probably a little part unicorn. I am about 10 months old and 75lbs of solid muscle and snuggle power :) People are my favorite! Attention is my favorite! Hugs are my favorite! (Basically, if it involves love, I’m in.) My rescue coordinator calls me “Mister Let-Me-Hug-You". I’m a playful, goofy guy who’s still learning what to do with these extra-long legs, sometimes they forget they’re on the same team. I want nothing more than to be close to my people and soak up all the love they can give. I’m also a very strong boy who needs a confident, committed human to help me keep working on my leash manners. Right now, I’m fully convinced every walk is my big audition for a professional sled dog team. With patience and consistency, I’ll get the hang of it, I just have a little ways to go before I’m a “loose-leash” walker. Food and affection are truly the way to my heart and brain! Basically, I’m one big lovable jumble of joy who just needs an adopter to continue helping me grow into my best self. If you’ve been dreaming of a happy, huggable, slightly uncoordinated adventure buddy, I’m your guy. No cats for me, thank you. I maybe able to live in an apartment but I guarantee you, one happy tail swipe and all of your on-display valuables will be a distant memory. I’m good with children, but I do love to hug, and at 75 pounds, I might accidentally knock them down. Dog parks aren’t my scene. I can be a bit overwhelming for some dogs, and my size can make others nervous. You don’t need a yard for me to be happy, though! Just common sense, regular walks, and maybe a pup cup or two. Professional training would be awesome for me, it’ll set us both up for success. Apply to adopt me! https://tinyurl.com/TLCdogapp Adoption radius: 60 miles from 20906 We don’t promote any of our dogs as house trained or allergy friendly. 🌼 Meet Daffodil – A Shy Flower Blooming Into a Ray of Sunshine 🌼 Daffodil is pure joy wrapped up in puppy wiggles and soft ears. This gentle, shy girl is blossoming into an affectionate and playful pup who loves people, other dogs, and even cats! She’s indoors full-time now and thriving—calm, well-mannered, and soaking up love like sunlight. She’s still learning about crate training and how to walk on a leash, but she’s a fast learner and responds beautifully to gentle correction. Daffodil has the kind of personality that makes you fall for her without even realizing it. She’s sweet, silly, and a little bit magical—like a dream girl in dog form. She's still getting used to the idea that humans are safe and kind, but her tail is wagging more each day, and she’s always ready for playtime. Daffodil is the type of dog that makes fostering feel like a gift—and adopting her will feel like winning the lottery.

Story
💕 Kiara – Sweet, Shy, and Ready for Her First Real Family 💕 Kiara came to us after growing up as part of an oopsie litter of backyard dogs, which meant she didn’t get the early socialization most puppies receive. Because of that, the world felt a little big and overwhelming at first — but with patient guidance and lots of love at K9netic Pack, she has absolutely blossomed. Kiara has gone from a fearful girl to a confident, curious, incredibly sweet dog who truly wants to connect with people. Once she warms up, she becomes affectionate, loving, and so eager to be part of your world. She has a gentle soul, a working-breed brain, and a heart that melts the moment she trusts you. She is still building her dog-to-dog social skills, so slow introductions are best. She’s dog selective, but she may do well with a calm, neutral, dog-savvy companion who won’t overwhelm her. She would also be perfectly happy as the only dog, soaking up all your attention. Kiara LOVES kids, but because she can be a little shy and startles easily, we recommend a home with children 10 and older simply to ensure a calm, predictable environment as she continues growing in confidence. Kiara is the kind of dog who will bond deeply, love fiercely, and blossom beautifully with a patient, kind family. She’s ready for a forever home full of love, stability, and gentle encouragement — the kind of home she’s never had before. 💖 📍 Located in Poolesville, MD 🐾 Spayed, fully vetted, and professionally trained ✨ Adoption includes post-adoption support through K9netic Pack Apply to adopt Kiara: www.underdogdivision.org

Story
And along comes Mary, the sweetest Doberman girl you will ever meet.   This girl is barely one year old and weighs no more than 45 pounds with a little more healthy weight to add to her previously starved body.   Coming to Critter Cavalry Rescue as a stray that was taken to a Tennessee shelter, she stood out with her sweet eyes that just begged you to love her.  She has no problems with other dogs big or small, but she does like to chase the cats and they are stressed about this.  We are changing her current home to one with no cats and waiting for a family who will nurture her body and soul.  She is crate trained, housebroken and has a beautiful spirit that wants to please and love you.  Mary the Doberman is ALL LOVE for her humans and will be a 55 girl when at her optimum weight in the next few months.    She has no character flaws and is a bright and loving girl that will curl up with you to watch the world go by and to make your life sweeter.  We are looking for a fenced yard in her new home.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested and can provide the best home possible for the best girl that deserves a richer life        PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 12, 2026, 9:57 am

Story
Meet Bear, a five-year old, black & tan, male Doberman, weighing approximately 90 pounds. Bear is a striking, sensitive, and people-oriented Doberman who is looking for a calm, structured, and Doberman-experienced forever home. He is deeply loyal to his caregivers and thrives on consistent routine, clear leadership, and positive guidance. When first meeting new people or encountering new situations, Bear can be cautious and unsure. With patient, confident handling, he settles in nicely and reveals his affectionate, devoted nature. Once comfortable, Bear becomes a true “velcro Doberman,” preferring to stay close to his people and be included in daily life. Bear is intelligent and responsive. He knows his basic commands, is fully house-trained, and is crate-trained for rest or decompression when needed. He LOVES to ride in the car, both in and out of the crate, and handles transitions best when expectations are clear and predictable. With other respectful dogs, Bear is generally social and playful and tends to match their energy appropriately. He does best with proper introductions and structured management in new environments. Despite his size, he is gentle at heart and benefits from a calm household atmosphere. Bear has typical Doberman drive and requires daily physical exercise and mental stimulation to remain balanced and content. He is not destructive, but he should be provided with regular enrichment, training, or engaging activities to prevent boredom. Long walks, structured play, puzzle toys, scent work, or continued training will all help him thrive. Ideal Home for Bear Bear will do best in a home that offers: - Doberman experience (required) - A calm, predictable environment with consistent routine - A secure, fully fenced yard - Active adopter(s) committed to daily exercise and enrichment - An adult-only home without children - A home without cats Bear is not suited for first-time large-breed owners, low-activity homes, or households seeking an independent dog. He needs leadership, structure, and connection to be his best self. For the right adopter, Bear will be a deeply loyal, affectionate, and devoted companion who truly wants to be your partner in life. Bear is being fostered in Maryland. DAR&E adopts to MD, VA, DC, DE, eastern parts of WV and southern parts of PA. Please check with other Doberman rescues in areas not listed.

Story
Meet Grace and Willow, a bonded pair of female Dobermans whose connection is as beautiful as their names. They are currently receiving the medical care they need and are expected to be ready for their forever home around March. We are looking for a forever home where Grace and Willow can stay together and settle into the life they deserve. Grace and Willow are fostered in Virginia. Grace is an absolute sweetheart. She is approximately 4 years old, and she is quite calm for a young Doberman. Grace is blue with cropped ears and a docked tail. She loves a good chase outside, a fun walk and lots of toys. She would do great in a quiet household with her buddy Willow. She was a little timid and unsure of her surroundings when first rescued. Through patience, love and the support of her friend Willow, Grace has really come out of her shell! She gets excited at meal times, can't wait to play outside and loves to play with her toys! She is also a big fan of football Sunday naps on the couch. She is not crate trained, but does okay in a puppy-proof room with Willow when her foster parents go out. Grace is a sock thief! She is good with cats and other female dogs. She also lives with a 16 year old, small, female dog, 1 female cat and 1 male cat in her foster home. At this time, she is unknown with male dogs and children, as she has not had the opportunity to be introduced to either while in her foster home. At first, she is very excited when introduced to new animals. She does pull on the leash and is doing well with leash training. Willow is the definition of velcro dog. She is either next to her human, or her buddy Grace. As with most Dobermans, she thinks she is a lap dog and requires pets 24/7. She has not gotten the love she needed in the past, but she makes sure she gets it now! Willow is approximately 7 years old and does require a slower paced household. She has arthritis, spondylosis and hip dysplasia. Her bones may be old, but she does not let that slow her spirit. She likes to run around with her friend Grace, just not as fast and that's okay! She loves a short game of fetch with her favorite squeaky tennis ball. Willow is red with cropped ears and a docked tail. She has eyes that can melt anyone’s heart. Once you get that puppy dog look from Willow, you're hooked! Like Grace, she was also timid when first rescued. She needed to be close to someone all the time and seemed very nervous about her surroundings. She still likes to be close to people but has grown strong and brave! Willow is not crate trained, but her foster parents see no need for a crate. No destructive behaviors have been observed. She is a mild leash puller. She requires a slow feeder bowl (which will come with her) because she eats very fast. Willow is good with cats and other dogs. She also lives with a 16 year old, small, female dog, 1 female cat and 1 male cat in her foster home. Willow is unknown with male dogs and unknown with children, as she has not had the opportunity to be introduced to either while in her foster home. DAR&E adopts to MD, VA, DC, DE, eastern parts of WV and southern parts of PA. Please check with other Doberman rescues in areas not listed.

Story
Name: Billie Sex: Male Estimated Age: About 6 months old (as of 1/10) Best Guess for Breed: Miniature Pinscher Mix Weight: About 6 lbs (as of 1/10) Lives With: Dogs, cats, kids and all people! Housebroken? He’s working on his potty training and making great progress! Story: Billie was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina. We are so happy to have him safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Billie is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. He knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with his humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Billie is just looking for someone to be his new best furend and we know that he will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Billie will need an adopter who is committed to setting him up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising him both mentally and physically. He will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Billie is an adorable pup who would be a perfect fit for any family in just about any situation.  He loves to play with other dogs and immediately bonds with adults and kids.  He wants nothing more than to sit on your lap and will be content to be by your side all day.  He is doing great with his potty training and he is used to being in his crate when no one is home.  He would do well in an active house and will need a good walk every day to get his energy out.  He’d love a home with a younger dog companion who is as playful as he is, but would also be happy with trips to the dog park or play dates!  He is such a sweet boy and is ready to love!  The fee to adopt Billie is $475. That covers the cost of all his vaccines, the collar he’s wearing, his transport to DC and his care in his foster home. He’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. If you think that Billie might be your perfect match, apply today!January 23, 2026, 10:02 pm
