Story
We are moving overseas for a temporary job and looking to rehome our beloved pup Archie until we return in January 2026. We adopted Archie in 2014 and he's now the most puppy-faced 10-year-old boy you've ever seen (seriously, we still get stopped on the street constantly asking if he's a puppy!). He has been a loyal companion, witnessing our family grow as we married and welcomed two human babies, now ages 6 and 2. Archie is a top-notch snuggler, full of energy on walks, and incredibly patient with little ones. Until very recently he would run his little heart out at the dog park, consistently faster than dogs half his age. Having spent the first year of his life in shelters, however, he does come with some baggage and still experiences separation anxiety. Archie would do best in a home with at least one person home the majority of the time and/or with another dog to keep him company. He is house-trained, but resists the crate. Please consider taking in our special guy!

Story
Batman is a 3-year-old black and rust male with cropped ears and a natural tail weighing in at 60 pounds. Batman is an energetic, happy dog. He is always wagging his tail and sometimes chasing it. He loves to run and play in the yard with my dogs, especially my 3-year-old female. They play in the yard and in the house. Batman is very curious as to what I’m doing and where I’m going. He will be laying down relaxing but will jump up ready to go where I’m going. He loves attention and giving kisses, he will just melt while being petted. He walks well on the leash with minimal pulling but is all business on a walk, he charges straight ahead. He rides very nicely in the car, curious about his surroundings while safely anchored in the seat. He has done well at learning to sit for his meals and treats, he sometimes gets over excited to go outside and forgets to wait at the door. It’s a work in progress and he has done very nicely being food motivated and eager to please. He is crate trained and goes right in when told to “go lock up.” He likes a filled Kong or other tasty treat or toy while in his crate and will settle in nicely until he thinks it’s time to get out and then gets restless wanting to join the family and go play. He does well out of the crate overnight and sleeps on his bed. He doesn’t seem interested in getting on the furniture. He will run the fence line barking if he sees other dogs and will bark at ones he encounters in public but it’s more that he wants to meet them. He’s probably not cut out for city life and dog parks because of how excited he gets over other dogs. It was challenging for him in a kennel situation also because of how over stimulated he gets. He is totally non-aggressive and has no guarding issues over food or toys with the other dogs. He’s definitely a lover and not a fighter. He is unknown with cats or small children. Batman is an unusually small male with a big personality and full of fun and love. He makes me smile with his tail wagging and how happy he is just enjoying life while waiting for his forever home. Batman is fostered in Virginia. DAR&E adopts to MD, VA, DC, DE, eastern parts of WV and southern parts of PA. Please check with other Doberman rescues in areas not listed.

Story
Tina is a 2 year old, cropped and docked, black and tan female Doberman. She is playful, happy, and energetic. Tina is crate and house trained. She needs a little time to warm up to other dogs but Tina would love to have a canine playmate at home. Tina is looking for an active home with people who are committed to doing training, activities, and brain games daily. Tina LOVES to play fetch. Balls Are Life. Tina loves to chase anything that moves. Squirrels, rabbits, birds, bicyclists and runners are all worthy of being chased. Because of this she may do best with older kids who can be mindful not to incite her to chase. Due to her love of chasing, Tina will not be placed in a home with cats, small mammals, or birds. In general, Tina can be shy when meeting new people. But for folks who are patient she quickly warms into a Velcro Doberman who wants to be in the room with you and snuggle on the couch too. Tina is smart and treat-motivated. She would do well with someone willing to train her and help her work through some of her fears, but that will take time. Tina gets very excited when she sees other dogs while she is on a leash. For now, Tina needs a fenced yard so you can keep neighborhood walks to the minimum and during quiet times. Tina would do best in a suburban or rural home with less pedestrian and canine traffic. She could be a single dog or go to a home with a calm, but playful partner pup, if the humans can commit to slow introductions. Tina has been happily coexisting with a 50-pound senior female dog in her foster home for three weeks. If you think you may be the right fit for Tina please contact us. Tina is fostered in Virginia. DAR&E adopts to MD, VA, DC, DE, eastern parts of WV and southern parts of PA. Please check with other Doberman rescues in areas not listed

Story
Beverly was given to us from a family member that is very old now and the fact that we are moving we don’t have the space for her and we want her to have a family home in space where she’s able to run wild and free. Beverly is a very good dog, and because she wasn’t treated properly at her previous home she has me a lot of anxiety, so that’s why we want her to be going to someone that will give her exceptional care and love her pet her maybe maybe have kids that she can play around with she’s very well with kids, especially playing with them and that’s Beverly!

Story
Meet beautiful Lilli Meet sweet Lilli a 18-month-old (as of Oct), Dobbie/shep mix female. She is fully vetted with 3x DHPP, 2x Bordetella, rabies, spayed, HW negative, microchipped, and currently on preventative (credelio and interceptor) which comes with her. Lilli is a curious and relaxed puppy. She loves meeting new dogs and is always hanging out with his partner in crime, brother Ronny. She is good with other dogs, kids, and cats. Lilli is a happy-go-lucky puppy. She gently welcomes other dogs and likes to share her toys with her friends. Lilli is potty-trained and crate-trained. Lilli travels well inside her crate when going out for car rides. Her energy is medium level. She still has some puppy energy but entertains herself well with chew toys and playing with her sibling Ronny. Lilli loves looking at herself in the mirror and is a super funny girl. Her foster momma taught her the commands "sit and "stop in Spanish. She needs more leash training but is super smart and does well off-leash walking with her rescue pack. This puppy is so respectful of boundaries and polite. I can't think of a behavior that needs correction. She would benefit from more group activities with other dogs. Lilli would do well living with other sweet and chill pups like her. Being part of a family that could get her out on hikes and trips to the beach would make her feel like that luckiest puppy. She is the perfect addition to any active family. Like we've seen all too often in rescue. Lilli and Ronny's mom had an irresponsible owner who let their mom have litter after litter. Lilli and Ronny plus 4 other puppies were born right before their mom was spayed (The Mom is now spayed thanks to a rescue who offered to cover the mom's surgery). Sadly, the owner gave Lilli and Ronny's 4 siblings to random people with no assurance they were truly safe. Lilli and Ronny's story is completely different as they've been with rescue, loved, fully vetted, and ready to go to their fur-ever loving and committed homes. If you're interested in Lilli - please see our website: https://serendipityanimalrescue.org for more info and application.
