Story
Willow is a sweet and gentle almost 7-month-old Doberman mix, currently weighing in at 34 pounds. She came into the rescue a bit timid, but she’s warming up beautifully in her foster home and showing her tender personality each day.Willow is completely house trained and crate trained; she happily spends time in her crate when her people are away and sleeps soundly in it through the night. This lovely girl gets along well with everyone – she’s fantastic with other dogs, gentle with cats, and wonderful around kids.Willow is still building her confidence, but she’s making steady progress. With a bit of patience and love, she’s sure to blossom into an incredible, loyal companion. She’s ready to find her forever family who will keep nurturing her bravery and love her for her sweet soul.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.December 15, 2024, 6:04 am

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Duncan is a dreamboat of a guy! He’s a fawn Doberman, estimated to be around 4 years old. Duncan is so easy to love and eager to please! You can’t help but feel a tug of love when you look into his soft and sad eyes! Duncan has done great meeting new people and he also seems to be very dog friendly! In true Doberman style, Duncan is large and graceful so may be best paired with medium or larger sized dogs. Duncan is very strong on a leash, so we are working on basic training cues and we have included a free basic training course courtesy of Cedar Run Company with his adoption. In no time at all, Duncan will settle into your home and your heart and be your gentle giant companion! Duncan’s adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccines and preventatives, plus a free basic training course at Cedar Run Company in Hiawatha. Duncan is seeking an indoor only home, if you are interested in meeting him please submit an adoption application through our website, Adopthope.org. Our adoption process includes a vet, history check and a home visit.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 6, 2024, 12:48 am

Story
This is Henry!  He is a Doberman Pinscher, born October 2020.  Henry is an amazing dog!  He is looking for a home with older kids - he loves boys and listens quite well to his current 10 year old bestie.  He would absolutely be someone's best friend!  He just needs someone who can work with him and help build his confidence so he can learn how to be calm.  Right now, he's living in an apartment and just doesn't have enough space to run and play.  He needs a fenced yard and he will let you know when he needs to go out for a potty break. **Henry's owner would love for him to go to someone living in the Omaha area. Henry grew up with other dogs, but because of the space restraints - he barks at them sometimes.  Once he feels comfortable in a new place with room to spread out, this probably won't be an issue.  He seems to listen better to men, but lately has done well with a female and older girls.  Because of his size and energy level, kids should be older (age 10+).  He gets a little jumpy around little kids.  Don't let his size fool you, he still likes to cuddle and would love to be your lap dog!!!  If you love Dobermans, you will certainly fall in love with Henry!  Bonus points if you have Doberman experience.  :)  The suggested adoption donation for Henry is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2203730##

Not good with cats,
Story
Hi, my name is Fury! But I'm more like a happy, gentle breeze that wants to have fun! You might recognize my name from the famous character Director Nick Fury of the Marvel movies, I'm kinda like him: I love being the center of attention and don't like it when people take my stuff! I am a big dog! With my mixed Doberman Pinscher/Black Labrador genes I am a whopping 52#/lbs and have a ton of energy and muscle that needs to be worked! Because of this it would be best if I was paired with an active family who knows how to keep a dog mentally stimulated and respects my boundaries well. No apartment living for me please! No cats or small children either! My caretakers have learned some important things about me: I am a chow-hound and will try to eat anything I can get my hands on! So please leave food out of reach from me or I'll swoop it all up. Secondly, I would prefer if people didn't grab things that I have in my mouth, it's mine not yours hehe! Overall, I am a big-hearted dog who wants to go play, be adventurous, have fun with other people and dogs! I am however not such a big fan of car rides, they make my tummy feel sick eww! I love all people and dogs, am a healthy, happy boy and just want to find my home. Let's work together and find it!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
