Story
UPDATE: Coco “Bean” came to BDR a few months ago, so overweight walking the neighborhood was too much. Today, the slimmer girl is now doing interval training with her foster mom. Her high prey drive makes way for hours in the yard squirrel hunting, she even try to climb the trees with her new figure. She will do better with similar sized dogs. This lady loves and demands cuddles and sometimes you can get a glimpse of a grin. ——————————- Coco is a stunningly beautiful fawn girl that is 8 years old. Her life has been spent being a Mama dog but now it's time for Coco to be spoiled. Her foster Mom says Coco is the sweetest girl she has ever had. Loves to lay in the sunshine. But like many dobies does not care for fireworks or thunderstorms. To soothe her during these stressful times she will carry around her foster Mom's shoe and that makes her feel better. Guess it's like having her puppies again. Currently lives with a very young dobie boy and she tolerates him for the most part. As you can imagine Coco isn't wanting to be bothered with a young pup too much, she has done that enough in life. Coco is looking for a family that wants to treat her like the queen bee that she deserves to be. A stroll around the neighborhood or just relaxing in the yard with her people will be her ideal day.

Story
Steel, or Cowboy Steel as his foster calls him, was a stray so we don't know his story but we do know he was found with another dog. He has been fine with the female dog in his foster home and also the kitties. Steel's foster and vet are estimating him to be around 8 years old. He has some vision issues although he can still see it's just not as good as when he was a young pup. Despite him being a "senior dobe" he still has plenty of energy. Loves to go out in the yard to run and play with toys. If you are looking for a dobie that will be your companion and best friend then this cowboy is waiting for you to apply.

Story
Tsunami came to our rescue from a shelter in the south, he was part of a cruelty case. We are not exactly sure how old he is but somewhere around 1 to 2 years old, however he has nothing but puppy energy. His foster says Tsunami is the sweetest boy and always smiling. His play style with other dogs is pretty rough so he will need a friend of his own size and willing to tolerate puppy play. No little dogs or cats due to high prey drive. From his rocky start he is now learning to be a well-mannered dog but still needs lot of patience and help with this. Obedience training will be a must. Taking a class with your new dobie family member is a great way to bond along with teaching him some manners. If you are looking for an energetic dobie boy that gives lots of love to his people, then maybe Tsunami is your boy. A physically fenced yard is a requirement. No little kids (at least 10 years and up) since he still has a lot of energy and needs someone to focus a lot of their attention on his training.

Story
The name Greta means Pearl. This girl is more like a diamond…in the rough (ruff?) Yes, she’s a beautiful, petite 50-pound Doberman but she has some behavior issues. Greta ended up in rescue after a fatal incident with a small dog in her home. Therefore, she will NOT be placed in a home with other small dogs, cats, or critters smaller than she is. This girl has what we call a HIGH PREY DRIVE. We will also require her new family to have a PHYSICALLY FENCED yard (that means no underground fencing). She gets along great with dogs her size and energy level yet will escalate during play and may need timeouts to calm down. Previous Doberman experience is highly suggested for her adopter. Additionally, Greta may exhibit the Pincsher part of being a Doberman Pinscher and may nip at strangers. She is also a counter surfer and jumper. Food is everything to Greta! Her food, your food, another dog’s food. It’s all supposed to be hers, she thinks. This cutie pie likes to greet you by jumping up on you. Greta would NOT do well in a home with young children because of this jumping and the likelihood of knocking over a little person. All these behaviors are being worked on and Greta will need an owner committed to continuing with obedience training and positive reinforcement. Her exuberant personality and graceful stride would make Greta an excellent agility competitor. She has great recall and loves to run off-leash, when given the chance. Her current foster does 60-90 minutes of daily exercise with her to increase her stamina and help burn off her energy. Greta would greatly benefit if she is given a job to do! Greta is crate trained and will come with her own impact crate. (She’s an escape artist). Housebreaking is an ongoing task and when crated, she scratches to let you know when it’s time to go out. This soon-to-be 18 month old has a lot of affection to give. She wants to please but is at that terrible teenager stage and knows how to use her cuteness to make you give into her antics. There’s an award winning level snuggler and a great canine passenger inside that petite frame of hers. Knows basic commands and has the absolute cutest little Milk Dud eyes. With dedication to help Greta to overcome her issues, she came become a precious gem, whether a polished pearl or a sparkly diamond.

Story
Who can resist this sweet dobie face? This is Bruce, he came to the shelter and eventually to BDR as a stray. We are estimating him to be around 8 years old. It would be hard for you to find a sweeter boy, everyone that meets him (including everyone at the vet office) says he is just a doll. Bruce loves all people and loves his toys. If he was allowed, he would carry a toy around all day. He gets along well with kitties and would do fine with a non dominant dog (prefers the girls!). Here is the sad part, Bruce's vet suspects he has wobblers or something similar. The only way to truly diagnose is with expensive test that won't really change the course of treatment or outcome. You can tell the way he walks there is an issue but not in his spirit. Bruce believes he can do anything he wants. Short walks around the yard and a comfy place to sleep is what this boys needs. It's hard to welcome a dobie into your family that you know has a medical issue that will not get better but Bruce deserves a chance to live out his life with a family that adores him as much as he will adore them.
