Story
Frye is a 4 year old energetic dog. We were given him as a young puppy from a friend. He is a very sweet, intelligent and cuddly dog. He knows how to sit and lay down. We have been working on leash training, but he has a pretty short attention span and gets distracted quickly. He is very communicative in letting you know when he needs to go outside , he does jump at the door in order to do so. We had trained him to go to the door and nudge a thing of jingle bells, but from a young pup he would pull them off the door and run around with them to get our attention and it has escalated to him jumping/clawing at the door. He loves to play fetch, and he does bring the toys back. He will lunge for the toy if you do not tell him to sit and wait for you to pick up the toy. He loves chewing on Kong toys and Chuck-it balls. He does have separation anxiety that does lead to chewing on things, mainly soft/plush things. He will try to get out of a kennel if it is not properly secured.

Story
Adoption fee: $300 Physical appearance: Kali is a 6-year-old, black and tan, female Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail. She is a big girl at 90 pounds. Kali was born with one eye that is smaller than the other, a condition called uveitis that has caused blindness in that eye, and she will require daily eye medication to keep her comfortable. Personality, Manners, and Training: Kali was previously adopted from GDR but was returned due to changing family circumstances. This girl is an A-class snuggler and LOVES her people. She is a wonderful family dog who does great with kids. Kali has energy and will run and play as much as you let her so she needs a real outlet for her energy. She loves playing with tennis balls and other toys. Sometimes she will bark and whine to protest not getting her way, so she won't be good for an apartment, townhome, or condo. She needs someone who won't give into her every protest or just let her do whatever she wants. She knows how to sit and wait patiently for her dinner until you tell her to eat, and she is crate trained, but she will try to convince you that she isn't. Her leash training could use some work. She gets along with other dogs, but needs a slow and careful introduction. She also gets along with cats and even rabbits.  Vetting: All our dogs are brought up to date on Rabies, Bordetella, and combo, negative for intestinal parasites and heartworms, spayed, and microchipped before adoption. ##127561##

Story
Adoption fee: $300 DISCLSIMER: Sam is a true working Doberman. He has natural protection instincts that the average family cannot handle. He will only be adopted to a home that intends to seriously train and work him, and will absolutely not be homed with any children under the age of 15. Physical appearance: Sam is an all-natural, black and tan, male Doberman that is about 4 years old. He is average size for a male Doberman with a weight of 71lbs. Personality: Sam is a wonderful dog with a sweet and playful personality with his family.  He is BFFs with his foster sister and they hang out together and play all the time. While his natural ears and tail make him absolutely adorable looking, he is also an intense watch dog and protector. He is very protective of his foster mom which has led to an incident where he nipped a guest.  He is not a dog you can expect to be social. if you have people in and out of your house all the time, he is not the dog for you. He is a true Doberman and is not what you commonly find in a rescue dog.  He is fearless, intense, and alert but he is not aggressive.  He needs an experienced owner that knows how to train and lead him and will not leave him to his own devices. He does well with both men and women once he gets to know them, but initially is extra wary of men. he needs a proper introduction and for his owner to show him that they are okay. He will not be adopted to a home with any male dogs, but females are fine. He will also not be adopted to a home with small children. We will require all kids to be over 15 years old. Why he’s in rescue: Sam has an unusual rescue story. A friend of the rescue was working in Qatar where Dobermans are illegal.  Despite them being illegal, many of the wealthier residents import them anyways. They usually import them from Serbia and get them based on the idea of a Doberman, leaving them as decorations or using them as guard dogs as opposed to pets.  Sam's owner no longer wanted him and he was abandoned at a kennel. Our friend contacted us asking if we would take him if she brought him back with her. If we didn't, he'd likely be euthanized or abandoned in the desert unfortunately common for unwanted dogs). We couldn't say no. Manners and training: Sam is crate trained, potty trained, and does pretty well on a leash.  He is a fast learner and would excel at any sort of training or sport you wanted to do with him, especially obedience or schutzhund/bite work.  If you've wanted a dog you can do sports with, this is the dog for you. He is not suitable as a couch potato, and we will require his adopter to be registered for training classes before he can be adopted. He is currently working with a trainer in Lawrenceville that specializes in working dogs and absolutely adores him. We have had an evaluation done by her that we are happy to share with prospective adopters. if possible, we would love to see him continue his training with her.  Vetting: All our dogs are brought up to date on rabies, Bordetella, and combo, negative for intestinal parasites and heartworms, neutered and microchipped before adoption.   ##1810600##

Story
Meet Jet: Your New Adventure Buddy with a Heart of Gold! Adoption Fee: $350 Hey there, I'm Jet! I'm a 2-year-old red male Doberman with natural ears that stand straight up when I'm focused—think "flying nun" chic! I'm an average-sized guy at 70 lbs, and I've got a look that's all about charm and character. A Little About Me: Personality:I'm a sweet, affectionate boy who absolutely adores people and all the attention you can shower on me. I'm a bit of a bundle of nerves, so I need an active family who can help me burn off all this energy and set some firm boundaries. Without structure, I can get overly attached, show poor judgment, and become a bit too protective and possessive of my humans. Because of this, small children are a no-go for me, but teenagers are just fine. Not sure how I feel about cats or small animals, but as for male dogs, let's just say we're not a good match. I could get along with some female dogs with a slow introduction and clear boundaries, but ideally, I'd love to be your one and only furry friend. My Story:I was found as a stray and picked up by the shelter. My past is a mystery, but when no one came to claim me, Georgia Doberman Rescue swooped in to help me find my forever home. Manners and Training:I know how to sit, but beyond that, I'm a bit of a blank slate. I'm potty trained, I ride well in the car, and I'm good in my crate. I walk okay on a leash, though I could use some work. I've got a ton of energy, so a fenced-in yard is a must for me to get my zoomies out. Adopting me will take some effort, but trust me, I'll reward you with endless smiles, love, and affection! Health and Vetting:I'm in great shape! I'm up-to-date on all my vaccines (rabies, Bordetella, and combo), negative for intestinal parasites and heartworms, neutered, and microchipped. I'm all set to be your loyal companion! Why You'll Love Me:If you're looking for a sweet, loving, and energetic buddy who will keep you on your toes and fill your life with joy, I'm your guy. Let's embark on this adventure together—apply to adopt me today! Can't wait to meet you! Story
Hey there, I'm Alvin! I'm a handsome black and tan male Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail. I'm a bit furrier than your average Dobie, but my DNA test confirms I'm a purebred. I've had quite a journey, but I'm here and ready to find my forever home. I'm a special needs Dobie and use a wheelchair to get around. The doctors say with consistent physical therapy and exercise I should be able to walk again, but there's no guarantee. For now, and maybe forever, I'm a doberman-on-wheels. It doesn't get me down though, and it shouldn't get you down either! A Little About Me: Personality:I'm as sweet as they come! I love attention and will make you feel like the most important person in the world. I'm a top-notch cuddler and the ideal couch buddy. While I'm not as mobile as I used to be, I still love to explore and enjoy the outdoors. These days, I settle for sunbathing and bird-watching, which I find quite relaxing. I'm great with other dogs, indifferent to cats, and even did well with a rabbit at my previous foster home. I'm wonderful with kids and just an all-around gentleman. My Story:I was found as a stray and picked up by animal control. When no one came to claim me, Georgia Doberman Rescue took me in. I tested positive for heartworms and underwent treatment. After that, I had some serious mobility issues due to a spinal problem. I had spinal surgery and am now undergoing physical therapy to regain my strength and mobility. I might always need a little help getting around, but I have a wheelchair that I use, and it doesn't stop me from being the happiest, sweetest boy. Manners and Training:I've got good manners and am very patient despite my challenges. I need some extra attention and frequent trips outside due to muscle atrophy and some incontinence issues, but my vets are hopeful that this will improve as I continue to build my strength. I love spending time with my humans and other dogs, and I'm always up for some gentle play or a good cuddle session on the couch. Health and Vetting:I've been through a lot, but I'm in good health now! I'm up-to-date on all my vaccines, heartworm negative since my treatment, negative for intestinal parasites, neutered, and microchipped. I'm all set and ready to join a loving family. Why You'll Love Me:If you're looking for a sweet, resilient companion who will shower you with love and affection, I'm your guy. While I need a lot of patience and extra care, the love and joy I'll bring into your life will be worth it. Apply to adopt me today and let's enjoy life's simple pleasures together! Can't wait to meet you! Love,Alvin ##1408267##

Story
Meet Mija: Your Loyal and Loving Shadow Adoption fee: $300 Hey there, I’m Mija! I’m a black and tan female Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail. At about 60 pounds, I’ve got a few scars on my face and ears from my previous life, but I’m ready to leave those days behind and find my forever home. A Little About Me: Personality: I’m all about affection and loyalty. I’ll follow you everywhere you go because I love being close to my humans. I’m also a great watchdog—no one will ring your doorbell before I alert you that someone is approaching. My name isn’t just a label; it’s a command I respond to eagerly. I’m 100% housebroken and crate-trained, and I love lounging in my crate with the door open. I’m not a chewer, so you can trust me out and about in the house. While I’m not sure if I’m a counter surfer (the kitchen is gated off), I’m extremely food motivated, so any unattended snacks might just disappear! My Story: I was found as a stray, skin and bones. In fact, "Bones" was my original name at the shelter. We don’t know anything about my past, but it must have been tough. I’m covered in small white scars, especially on my ears and face. Now, I’m looking for a fresh start with a family who will love and care for me. Manners and Training: I’ve got some pretty good manners, if I do say so myself. I’m crate trained and potty trained, and I’m very food-driven, which makes training a breeze with the right treats. I do need some work on my leash manners; I tend to pull and can be leash-aggressive, so I’ll need someone patient and willing to work with me. I’m also a fast eater, so using a slow feeder at mealtimes is essential. I eat in my crate to prevent food theft from other pets. Important Areas of Improvement: Leash Aggression & Pulling: My walking manners need some polishing. I’m a strong puller and can be leash-aggressive, so patience and training are key. Socialization: Slow introductions to other dogs are crucial, especially with females. I’m not a fan of quick meet-and-greets. Kids & Men: No little kids for me; I have a knack for snatching food at mouth level. I’m also a bit wary of men at first—give me time, and I’ll warm up. Cats & Small Animals: I haven’t been tested with cats, but it’s best to assume I wouldn’t do well with smaller animals. Health and Vetting: I’m in great shape! I’m spayed, up-to-date on all my vaccines, microchipped, and negative for intestinal parasites. I’m currently undergoing the slow kill treatment for heartworms, which can be continued with my new family. Why You’ll Love Me: If you’re looking for a loving, loyal, and protective companion who will follow you everywhere and keep you safe, I’m your girl. Let’s make each other’s lives happier—apply to adopt me today! Can’t wait to meet you! Love,Mija ##2135658##
