Story
Stoffel has an exceptional pedigree (records will be provided). He has completed 10+ weeks of basic training and he IS a working dog! Gets along with other dogs and kids (probably best to be with kids a bit older - he runs fast) This happy floppy eared boy loves to play and he is turning 3 in November. He is crate trained but typically crated for bedtime only. Due to some major life changes, we won’t be able to provide him the attention and playtime he needs :( And crating a working dog such as this won’t work out well. We want to rehome him to a loving and attentive hooman or family 🙏 Please feel free to reach out with any questions and we can provide more photos/video.

Story
Meet the handsome 4 year old Lucus. Lucus arrived at the shelter on 10/25/2024 and his owners did not come for him. He is micro-chipped and the shelter tried to contact them but no luck. Lucus is super sweet and very smart. He is attentive and obedient. He will sit, stay, shake and lay down when you ask him to. He is current on vaccines. Sadly he tested positive for heart worms and will need to be treated for those. He is a big boy at 76 pounds but it is 76 pounds of pure love. Come on by and meet him and fall in love. He is waiting in run 824 and his ID# is 5740. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Forrest is a happy and energetic dog that loves to run around and be with his human. He is timid and shy at first, but being patient with him yields all the love you could ever hope for from a loyal companion. I found Forrest on the side of the road dehydrated, malnourished and riddled with worms as a ~4 month old puppy. He is ~10 months old now. Forrest is very food motivated and has had formal obedience training. Forrest will quickly warm up to whoever shows him love and gives him treats, but his personality requires activity. Forrest has been a great running partner for myself - easily running 4 miles, and would fit perfectly with anyone with an active, outdoors lifestyle.

Story
Adoption fee: $300 Physical appearance: Kali is a 6-year-old, black and tan, female Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail. She is a big girl at 90 pounds. Kali was born with one eye that is smaller than the other, a condition called uveitis that has caused blindness in that eye, and she will require daily eye medication to keep her comfortable. Personality, Manners, and Training: Kali was previously adopted from GDR but was returned due to changing family circumstances. This girl is an A-class snuggler and LOVES her people. She is a wonderful family dog who does great with kids. Kali has energy and will run and play as much as you let her so she needs a real outlet for her energy. She loves playing with tennis balls and other toys. Sometimes she will bark and whine to protest not getting her way, so she won't be good for an apartment, townhome, or condo. She needs someone who won't give into her every protest or just let her do whatever she wants. She knows how to sit and wait patiently for her dinner until you tell her to eat, and she is crate trained, but she will try to convince you that she isn't. Her leash training could use some work. She gets along with other dogs, but needs a slow and careful introduction. She also gets along with cats and even rabbits.  Vetting: All our dogs are brought up to date on Rabies, Bordetella, and combo, negative for intestinal parasites and heartworms, spayed, and microchipped before adoption. ##127561##

Story
Adoption fee: $300 DISCLSIMER: Sam is a true working Doberman. He has natural protection instincts that the average family cannot handle. He will only be adopted to a home that intends to seriously train and work him, and will absolutely not be homed with any children under the age of 15. Physical appearance: Sam is an all-natural, black and tan, male Doberman that is about 4 years old. He is average size for a male Doberman with a weight of 71lbs. Personality: Sam is a wonderful dog with a sweet and playful personality with his family.  He is BFFs with his foster sister and they hang out together and play all the time. While his natural ears and tail make him absolutely adorable looking, he is also an intense watch dog and protector. He is very protective of his foster mom which has led to an incident where he nipped a guest.  He is not a dog you can expect to be social. if you have people in and out of your house all the time, he is not the dog for you. He is a true Doberman and is not what you commonly find in a rescue dog.  He is fearless, intense, and alert but he is not aggressive.  He needs an experienced owner that knows how to train and lead him and will not leave him to his own devices. He does well with both men and women once he gets to know them, but initially is extra wary of men. he needs a proper introduction and for his owner to show him that they are okay. He will not be adopted to a home with any male dogs, but females are fine. He will also not be adopted to a home with small children. We will require all kids to be over 15 years old. Why he’s in rescue: Sam has an unusual rescue story. A friend of the rescue was working in Qatar where Dobermans are illegal.  Despite them being illegal, many of the wealthier residents import them anyways. They usually import them from Serbia and get them based on the idea of a Doberman, leaving them as decorations or using them as guard dogs as opposed to pets.  Sam's owner no longer wanted him and he was abandoned at a kennel. Our friend contacted us asking if we would take him if she brought him back with her. If we didn't, he'd likely be euthanized or abandoned in the desert unfortunately common for unwanted dogs). We couldn't say no. Manners and training: Sam is crate trained, potty trained, and does pretty well on a leash.  He is a fast learner and would excel at any sort of training or sport you wanted to do with him, especially obedience or schutzhund/bite work.  If you've wanted a dog you can do sports with, this is the dog for you. He is not suitable as a couch potato, and we will require his adopter to be registered for training classes before he can be adopted. He is currently working with a trainer in Lawrenceville that specializes in working dogs and absolutely adores him. We have had an evaluation done by her that we are happy to share with prospective adopters. if possible, we would love to see him continue his training with her.  Vetting: All our dogs are brought up to date on rabies, Bordetella, and combo, negative for intestinal parasites and heartworms, neutered and microchipped before adoption.   ##1810600##
