Story
9/17/24  (Leo).   Here's what I want you to know about me: I'm a smarty pants! I'm smart and I LOVE to learn new things! I'm eager to please and quick to pick up new skills. One of my latest accomplishments is learning to walk nicely on a leash! I used to pull a lot (okay, I still get excited sometimes), but I've learned that walking together is way more fun. Now, I know to pace myself and enjoy the journey with my human. I'm a goofball! Yeah, I can get a little silly sometimes, but it's not because I'm stubborn - it's just because I get SO EXCITED to learn new things! I can't help myself, and my enthusiasm takes over. I might get a bit goofy, but with a little guidance and patience, I can focus and learn like a pro! I'm a playful dude! I LOVE toys, water, and playtime! If you're looking for a buddy to join you on adventures or just hang out in the backyard, I'm your guy! Long walks? I'm all in! And if you throw a ball, I'll chase it anywhere, anytime! Little secret: a morning play session helps me get my day started on the right paw. It's hard being young with so much energy and so many things to do, but a little playtime helps me focus and feel more calm and centered. I'm a family man! I'll love my family to the moon and back, especially if they give me treats and belly rubs! I'll be loyal and protective, like most Dobies, and I'll snuggle up tight when I feel safe and loved in my new home. I do need to feel safe, though - I had a bit of a rough start in life, and sometimes I get a little nervous because I'm not sure what's happening next. But with patience, love, and gentle guidance, I'll feel right at home in no time! I'm looking for a family that's a great match for me! I love to stay active and have fun, but I also enjoy chill days with a little playtime. I'm happy with a balance of adventure and relaxation. Plus, I'm super into training - I know it's good for me, and I love learning new things every day! Whether we're going on a long walk or just practicing my skills in the backyard, I'm all in! 8/9/24. Meet LEO. This adorable 1.5 year old dober boy is in search of his forever family .  This playful boy loves playing with all the volunteers at the rescue, lounging in the pool and going for long walks.  Leo likes other dogs, but in his home would be best as only dog.  Like the good Dobie he is, Leo forms strong attachments to his family and can be wary of new people coming in his home and would be best suited with knowledgeable Dobie owner.   He will need some training but is very smart and eager to please so no doubt will flourish with gentle guidance.  He will make a loving and loyal companion to the right family.   No cats for Leo  5/9/24.  Gorgeous one year old Leo is looking for his forever home.  Leo loves to play with all the volunteers at the rescue, loves to play in the water and likes going for long walks.  He is super sweet and affectionate. He enjoys playing with other dogs but would prefer to be the only dog in his home.  No cats for Leo.  He likes children but since he can sometimes be wary of new people coming in his home he would be best suited for adult only home.   He will make a loving loyal companion to the right family.  4/27/24. Meet Leo! This adorable 1 year old Dobie boy is looking for his furever family.  Leo is a volunteer favorite at the rescue as he loves playing with everyone and is super sweet.  He gets along great with other dogs outside but in his home he prefers to be the only dog.  He is not a big fan of cats.  Leo can sometimes be wary of meeting new people so needs an experienced doberman owner who understands the breed and their quirks and can help him  overcome this. He is incredibly smart, eager to please and very loving.  He will make a great addition to the right family. 1/4/24. Welcome Leo to DRL he is a love bug and is ready for a new home. Story
10/2/24.  This absolutely adorable 3 vr old dobie rottie mix from MDAS is hoping October is her lucky month to find her family. BETH is a joyful girl that loves to play and then cuddle with her humans. She loves to roll on her back for belly rubs. She walks well on a leash, rides nicely in car and knows basic commands. She is great with older children/ teens. She is dog selective, may be best as only princess. No cats. 8/6/24.  Beautiful BETH still waiting on her furever family. 9/29/24.  JACK is such a sweet and gentle beautiful red boy. Walks lovely on a leash and is so happy for some attention and love. Would do well with another calm female or as only prince in the house. Cats and kids unknown so we will not put him in that situation.  PLEASE SHARE to help JACK find his furever home. 7/22/24.  Meet JACK, this absolutely adorable 4 year old red boy is looking for his forever home. He is new to the rescue so we are still getting to know him but he is a sweet boy that waits patiently in his kennel until it's his turn to come out. He likes everyone he meets although can be a bit shy at first. He came in with another female so we know he likes females or would be happy as the only dog in the home. Since he came from the shelter we can no history of kids or cats with him so we will not put him in that situation.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Not every dog is available for adoption or need a foster - some are wards of the rescue (usually due to medical reasons, but sometimes behavioral). Story
10/30/24.   5-year-old CALI was such a good sport, letting me put different costumes on him. He is such a sweet boy who has been through so much and really deserves a loving, kind foster/adopter. He is good with older children and calm, non-threatening dogs. Please, let's help CALI find his home. 9/24/24  Hi everybody, my name is CALI and I really NEED your help finding my forever family or a foster until I can find my family.  I love everyone I meet, am good with children and like most other dogs. A bit about my backstory - I was owned by a terrible man who gave me an awful derogatory name and would just open a 40lb bag of food and throw it on the ground for me to eat. I lived outside and was never given bowls for food or water. Neighbors complained that they saw my owner hit me. One day he threw me over the electric fence (said I was too much of a wussy) and told the neighbor he would make sure I couldn't re-enter. Luckily a kindly neighbor who heard what happened came looking for me and I jumped right in her car. She tried to find me a home for a few years but unfortunately had no luck and as she was in financial duress herself finally called Doberman rescue where I am now. As I have lived most of my life outside, I will need some training but I am smart and really want to please so will learn quickly if given the chance. I like most other dogs but with my previous owner there were sometimes roaming packs of wild dogs that scared me. That's why I am very stressed at the kennel and need a sheet on my run and it's hard for me to gain weight despite upping my food intake. On my way down here I stayed overnight with a previous DRL adopter and her family. She said I was a very good boy with her 4 other dogs (even the little one) and all her children. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Not every dog is available for adoption or need a foster - some are wards of the rescue (usually due to medical reasons, but sometimes behavioral). Story
10/21/24.  Meet MAKO, this adorable, pretty, petite young Doberman girl is looking for her forever family. MAKO can be a bit shy and cautious when she first meets someone, but with gentle guidance, she quickly warms up. Once she gets to know you, she is playful and affectionate. MAKO likes other dogs; she is also very smart and well-trained. She would do best with a Doberman-savvy adopter in an adult-only home. 6/27/24.  My name is MAKO and I’m an incredibly sweet, gentle petite dober girl looking for my furever family. I can be a bit shy at first but once I warm up I’m super affectionate and playful. I’m good with older children, most other dogs with proper introduction. Cats unkown . Did I mention I am also impeccably trained? 2/16/24.  MAKO is wondering why no one has come for her yet. This gorgeous 1 year old is as sweet as can be. She finds herself at the rescue because she wasn’t doing well in apartment setting and would benefit from a large yard to run and play in. She has been with our amazing trainer and is impeccably trained, likes other dogs and is a total lovebug not to mention adorable No cats or young children for MAKO. Get your apps in for this gem. She is ready to go home! 01/04/24 This is Mako she’s a sweet girl can sometimes be a little timid around people. She has sensitive skin. Very well behaved and her obedience is immaculate. She will tear up dog beds so it’s best to give her an elevated dog cot or thick padded quilt. I would like her to be in a home with Older children 12 and up. Other dogs would be acceptable too if meet and greet goes over well. Very food motivated. She weights roughly 40 pounds super tiny girl.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Not every dog is available for adoption or need a foster - some are wards of the rescue (usually due to medical reasons, but sometimes behavioral). 10/19/24. Dog of the day is 4-year-old ENZO! This adorable Dober boy is still looking for his forever family. In the 3-plus months he has been with us, he has proven himself to be a sweet, mellow boy who walks nicely on a leash, rides well in the car, and has stolen the hearts of many of our volunteers with his gentle disposition. ENZO lived with other dogs and did well with females, so he may be okay with another female or content to be the only king canine of the house. Please consider ENZO if you’re looking for your new best friend. 07/28/24  Meet ENZO!  This adorable 4 year old big Doberman boy was not getting along with his brother ( both unaltered) and now finds himself in need of a new home.  He can be a bit shy at first meet but once he knows you quickly warms up and just wants to be near you for pets and some affection.  He is very smart and eager to please and will sit and give paw before you ask him. As he is new to rescue we are still getting to know him but no doubt he will make a great addition to right family.  No cats.
