Story
HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED!!! Hi! My name is Twiggy, but my foster mom also calls me Love, Lovie, Baby, Sweetie, Couch Potato and sometimes “Big Old Lug” when I’m taking up her side of the bed at night (how rude!). My likes? I love zoomies in the backyard, snoozing in chairs and car rides. Oh, I also love dogs and people, and snuggling … lots and lots of snuggling. My dislikes? I really don’t like loud trucks, not really fond of lots of traffic, and I don’t like anyone stealing my toys. I’m a 6-year-old Doberman Pincher mix. I’m a fun-loving, big, curvy girl (how dare you ask my weight, but I’m about 70 lbs.!). I’m looking for a long-term relationship. I’ve done the short-term foster thing and, no knock on it, but I really am just looking for a genuine connection with someone who thinks it’s OK for me to snore in their ear at night. I’ve been through board-and-train, so I’m an educated gal. Must haves for my new relationship: a yard with a fence so I can run around and chase squirrels and bunnies; patience with me on a leash (I listen, but have a short attention span); no young kids. It’s not that I don’t like them or can’t be around them. I can! But they’re small and sometimes get in my way. Plus, I don’t really understand personal space, so I don’t want to hurt them. Oh, and not to brag or anything, but I’ve been told I’m a very good kisser. If you want to meet up, contact 2BABR and they will put you in touch with my current foster. We can get together and see what happens. Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##901874##

Story
**🐾 Meet Bruiser – Your Future Best Friend! 🐾** Hello there! My name is Bruiser, and I’m looking for my special forever family. Will you be the one to bring happiness into my life? I didn’t have the best start in Roswell, New Mexico. I spent a lot of time in an outdoor kennel, without a cozy bed or the love of a family. Human interaction was rare, and life felt very lonely. But now, I’m in beautiful Colorado, and while I’m loving it here, I’m hoping to find a family who understands me – a deaf dog who’s been through a lot. I have a little secret to share: sometimes, I act like a grumpy old man. But I promise there’s a good reason for that! You see, my hearing is very limited, so when I get startled and don’t know someone’s there, I might growl. I don’t mean to be scary – I’m just trying to protect myself. Despite my tough past, I adore being loved and petted, especially when someone rubs behind my ears. I dream of a family who will be patient and understanding, one that will take the time to help me feel secure and cherished. 🌟 **Here’s what makes me special:** - I absolutely LOVE going for walks! The fresh air, the exciting smells – it makes me feel like a young pup again. When my foster dad grabs my leash, I can barely contain my excitement. - I’m a big fan of toys and, oh, do I love food! Treats are my favorite, and I’ve even learned to sit politely for them. - I know how to use a doggie door and am eager to learn more – I’m a smart boy who just needs a little guidance. Look into my eyes, and you’ll see a soul longing for love and companionship. I believe the right family can help me blossom into the happiest dog ever. Could that be you? If you’d like to meet me, please fill out an application at the From Forgotten to Forever website:https://www.fromforgottentoforever.com/adoptionapplication/ Let’s start our forever journey together. ❤️ #AdoptBruiser #FromForgottenToForever #RescueDog #DeafDogsRock

Story
Meet Sida May (9) & Scarlett (11) —Our Gentle, Joyful Doberman Girls Sida and Scarlett are the kind of dogs who make a house instantly feel like home. Happy, kind, and beautifully socialized, these girls greet life — and everyone they meet — with bright eyes, wagging tails, and easygoing charm. They live happily with two large resident dogs (one male, one female), and their manners are nothing short of impressive. Respectful, socially savvy, and wonderfully easy to have in the home, they clearly grew up in a place where they were loved and well cared for. They arrived with excellent house manners and a genuine affection for both people and other dogs. Both girls ride beautifully in the car and greet every human and canine they meet with relaxed, friendly body language. At our PetSmart event they quickly became fan favorites, charming even the most skeptical observers with their calm, gentle presence. Their days are filled with simple joys. They enjoy short bursts of play time, napping in the sun and just haning out. They bring a warm, cheerful energy wherever they go. Daily hikes are not on their wish list — these girls are perfectly content enjoying the comfort of home and a cozy spot to relax indoors. Sida, at 106 pounds, and Scarlett, at 81 pounds, embody everything people love about the Doberman Pinscher: loyal, noble, intuitive, affectionate, and deeply devoted to their humans. They have spent their entire lives side by side, and we are committed to finding the special home that will honor that beautiful bond. These girls don’t need much: A home where they can stay together A sunny spot for their daily lounging A person (or family) to love with their whole hearts After many happy years with the person who adored them, their world changed when their beloved mom passed away. They have handled this transition with grace and kindness, and now they’re simply hoping for a new home where they can continue sharing the love they’ve always given so freely. You can see more photos & videos on our website: https://www.circle2rescue.com/available-pets/  (Petfinder limits the number we can share.) They are heartworm negative. If you would like to adopt please apply at https://www.circle2rescue.com/dog-adoption-application/  The adoption fee of $50 for both includes their spay, vaccinations, deworming and microchip.   ##2660492##

From the foster: Meet Bonnie a sweet energetic girl looking for a furever family to call her own! Bonnie is super sweet and loves her people! She is very strong and playful, doesn’t always know her own strength but always aims to please and listen! She knows basic commands such as sit, lay, down, off and no, , we are still working on stay as well as impulse control and with her size, she’s realized she enjoys looking on countertops for things but again listens when you tell her down or no! She walks very nicely on the leash, absolutely LOVES her tennis balls and stuffed toys. She has mastered performing surgery on them, so the more the merrier! She also loves bones and anything hard that she can chew on! She hasn’t once tried to chew on anything that she shouldn’t! (your shoes are safe) She loves to cuddle on the couch or in bed is also kennel trained and has done amazing with the other dog in the house, having the perfect balance of playfulness and respecting boundaries! Bonnie has all the potential in the world to make an amazing dog and she’s well on her way. If not already there she just needs a family that will love her and match her energy and big heart! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Transferred from Humane Society of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs. Owner surrendered due to eviction; shelter transferred so she could get further medical assessment on her head-tilt, which owner reported is caused by being bitten on the top of the head at two weeks old. Owner also reports that she circles to the left when kenneled. *Special Needs* - Gigget/Prancer had a full neurological workup at AESC in Parker. MRI determined a small portion of the back of her brain is not present, leaving a void that is filled with spinal fluid. The missing portion is the area responsible for balance, so her head tilts slightly to one side, she sometimes will cut a corner short and hit her nose on a wall, and/or circle when she's nervous, excited, or wanting to play. Prancer has either very limited or no sight in her right eye (facing her, your left-hand side), also related to the brain defect. It's not fully-known if this was congenital or from the reported bite she sustained at two weeks old, but neurologist is confident it's not progressive. Aside from being quirky, Prancer doesn't have any known limitations or ongoing medical needs. From the foster: (updated 3/19) If you love NASCAR, then Prancer is your girl. Prancer only makes left turns, due to either her right eye blindness or hole in her brain, but that doesn’t stop her from normal dog activities like running and playing. Prancer is a lady who appreciates stopping to smell the roses, and everything else, so walks may take little longer. Prancer is making great progress on potty training and has gone 4 days with no accidents. Her potty signs might be a little less clear than other dogs, but with regular bathroom breaks, and a yard, she is consistently going outside. She has decided going on a walk is not for her. Prancer may seem a little reserved at adoption events, but quickly will be running left circles all over your house before curling up for a long nap with you. She won’t bark at other people, dogs or outside critters, but might sing a song for you while you are out of the house. Prancer is 8 months old and still exudes playful puppy energy. She will no doubt make you laugh until your cheeks hurt and bring so much joy into your life. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
Pryncess may have a name fit for a throne, but she’s actually a very modest and quiet girl. She is a shy-but-sweet soul who prefers to observe from the sidelines until she knows she’s safe. Once she trusts you, however, she reveals her true colors—a devoted, tender-hearted companion who will follow you with quiet loyalty. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2674221##
