STRAY HOLD UNTIL 01/27/2025 A photo with a stray hold banner is public and posted in a desire to reunite a pet with its rightful owner. Our stray hold is lifted after 14 days. The animals are not available to be met or considered for adoption until the whole stray hold time is honored. An "off stray hold" date will be posted for all animals on a stray hold and at that time can be considered for adoption. We appreciate your patience and understanding on our procedures and protocols. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. The Lovejoy Foundation, Inc. does not adopt beyond a 30 mile radius from our headquarters in Inglewood. Rodney is a beautiful albino Doberman. This poor guy was owner-surrendered and was so terrified in the shelter that he wouldn’t eat for days. The stress took a serious toll on him, and he ended up with kennel cough. But thanks to the amazing foster who stepped up, Rodney is finally safe and starting to feel the love he deserves.

Despite being a large dog (~55lbs) Moose has proven to be a gentle giant with not a mean bone in his body. The shelter estimated he’s around 2yo, and while we’ve been working on his leash manners, he’s already made wonderful progress. His goofy nature means he sometimes likes to grab his leash during walks to play a little tug-of-war. He’s also learning to sit and is getting better at not jumping, though he still has his playful moments. Moose is affectionate and has a habit of gently mouthing hands when he wants attention. One of Moose’s favorite things in the world is taking long naps, and he’s a champion sleeper, enjoying a full night of rest without causing any trouble. Moose is not bothered by the mailman or people walking by our windows. He’s also fully potty trained! It breaks our hearts that we are unable to keep this wonderful boy. Moose would benefit from a home with space for exercise and playtime. A family or individual who can provide attention and structure.

She's outgoing and friendly with everyone she meets, making her a fantastic addition to any family. This happy-go-lucky pup enjoys a good ear scratch and loves to play. With moderate energy levels, Star enjoys going for walks and exploring the world. She's already learned to sit and take treats gently, and she enjoys the company of other dogs. And, she even passed her initial cat testing. This playful and social butterfly is ready to find her forever home and shower her new family with love and affection. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
