MEET SHEBA #2!!! Sheba is a sweet girls that was saved from the euthanasia list due to kennel deterioration and has been living in a foster home since then. She is ready to find her forever family. Sheba is very loyal and committed to her people and interested in everything they are doing at all times! She is incredibly smart and food motivated. She already knows sit and wait and is eager to learn more. She is currently working on her leash skills.  Sheba is house trained and crate trained. She loves playing in water and fetch. She has been good with both large and small dogs, as well as cats. She is good with kids, but she might be best with kids 10 years old and older due to her large size and love of playing. She loves everyone she meets and is just a big, goofy love bug! Sheba would thrive in an active home either with another dog to play with or as an only dog with an active family committed to ensuring she gets regular exercise. Meet Sheba today! Hi, I`m Sky!I`m a gentle pup looking for my furever home! I can be a little timid at first, but once I get to know you I`ll show you how sweet and loving I am! I truly believe I`m just a giant lap dog. A great way for us to bond would be taking walks together, and working on training to help me learn all the things I`ll need to know in my new home. Training me will be a breeze since I already have some in-home experience! Make sure to bring in any potential doggy siblings to meet me to ensure a great fit! If you think I am the one for you, come meet me today! No appointment necessary!Meet me at AAWL`s Main Shelter!25 N. 40th StPhoenix AZ 85034602-273-6852Adoption Hours:Monday - ClosedTuesday - Friday & Sunday - 11:30am - 6:00pmSaturday - 10:30am - 6:00pm.AAWL requires that all adopted dogs leave with a leash and collar and all cats leave in a carrier.

Story
Rafiki is a special 4 year old Doberman. She has Megaesophagus, which means food has difficulty getting from her mouth to her stomach. Rafi will need to eat upright for the rest of her life, ideally in a Bailey chair. She is able to drink normally without the chair. For treats, she uses a Lickety Stik. She will require equally as special parents, dedicated to her feeding needs. This sweetheart has a ton of puppy energy, and plays just like a normal Doberman. She will need activity and structure like any youngster. Gentle and playful, Rafiki does well with other large and medium dogs. She also loves youngsters and is eligible for adoption to families with children. Rafiki loves to camp, hike, and adventure with her foster family. She attends local vet schools to teach them about her special needs, and is a local celebrity. Rafiki has even attended a camp for special needs children. Photos by #dhdrron of #dhdrRafiki (use the hashtags to see more Instagram photos!) Rafiki is available for adoption, to the right family, anywhere in the US. You can learn more about  Megaesophagus (sometimes called Mega-e or ME) here: https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/megaesophagus We are currently investigating an innovative surgery that may allow Rafiki to eat outside of a chair. DHDR will be providing a custom Bailey chair to Rafiki’s adopter. If you are just the right fit for Rafi or want to talk about her further, email Contact@azdoberescue.org.
