Paloma’s current weight is 18lbs and their estimated DOB is April 2021. They are last chance for life dogs out of Texas, so not much is known about their past. While in foster care with us they have been clean and quiet in their crates and working on basic obedience and leash skills. They have done well with all dogs they have met here, and are joyful, playful pups who adore each other and do everything together. We are looking for a home with children over the age of 8, or an adult only home for these cuties. Most dogs require a fenced yard. We seek fully fenced yards with a physical, visible fence. Typically, the fence must be connected to the house/ a door in the home, and the dog safe fenced area must exclude driveway and car access. Shock/electronic fences will not be approved for most dogs. Choco learns to trust his people, though he is not always so sure of new people. Choco is smart and loves cookies, chewy bones, and other toys and treats. He came to us as a nearly feral dog, and although he has come incredibly far with us, he is not perfect. He is not a snuggly type dog, but likes to share space with you. HE WAS FOUND WITH TWO PUPPIES UNDER A HIGHWAY BRIDGE. UNFORTUNATELY, ONE OF THEM TESTED POSITIVE FOR DISTEMPER AND, BECAUSE THE DISEASE WAS ALREADY VERY ADVANCED, HE DIED A FEW DAYS AFTER STARTING HIS TREATMENT. ELMER AND THE OTHER PUPPY, TITAN, WERE PLACED IN QUARANTINE AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE. HOWEVER, ONE DAY AFTER THE END OF QUARANTINE, TITAN SHOWED DISTEMPOR SYMPTOMS AND, LIKE THE FIRST PUPPY, DIED DESPITE RECEIVING TREATMENT. THIS WAS HOW ELMER BECAME THE ONLY SURVIVOR OF THIS RESCUE. TODAY ELMER IS COMPLETELY HEALTHY AND WITHOUT ANY KIND OF SEQUEL AND IS LOOKING FOR A LOVING FAMILY THAT WILL CONSENT HIM. ELMER IS A FAITHFUL COMPANION WHO LOVES TO BE HUGGED AND Cuddled. My name is Jason aka Noah, as in the father of all mankind:) I have been through alot in my life, I started out in a horrible hoarding situation with my sisters, brothers, uncles and mother. I knew in my heart of hearts that there is a much better world out there. And there is!! I was saved with about 88 dogs and pups, the ladies who drive out to save all of us are absolute saints.... So, back to my origin story, I had an unbelievable hernia out my back end that made my life hell...so the ladies git me to the rescue and 3 SURGERIES later, I am living a normal life 😀 I am a sweet boy, but having come from the situation i did, i am not a cuddle bug. FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Jasper! He is a 10-month-old, 18 lb Dachshund/Corgi mix who came to us as a stray. This sweet, lovable boy is so excited to find his forever home! He is currently living in a foster home. His foster describes him as sweet as pie, energetic, smart and quickly learning commands like sit, stay, go to your bed, lay down, touch, come, and “gentle” when taking treats. Jasper plays with his 65lbs foster brother very confidently, and while he can be a bit of a resource guarder with toys, he is quite easy to correct. He makes a lot of eye contact when addressed and is very eager to please. He loves fluffy, large dog beds, toys, fetch, and tug of war, just as much as he loves snuggling his foster brother. He happily naps in his fosters lap while she works at her desk between bouts of playing/chewing on toys (he really is a chewer). He is making wonderful progress with potty training and crate training. While he is not fully potty trained, he is learning quickly. He is enthusiastically working on his house manners and is such a happy dog. He walks well on a leash but can be shy when meeting new people on walks and will react by barking - on high alert when they approach on walks. He would do best in a quiet neighborhood outside of the city. Jasper is ready to put down roots in a loving home where he can continue to grow and thrive.
