Story
Animal Profile:  Bart has been with us for about a week now and he’s settling in nicely. He has a very sweet temperament and just wants to be near his humans and snuggle. He sleeps in his crate for 9 hours at night without a peep, gets along with our resident pup and curls up on a chair next to me for hours when I’m working from home. He doesn’t seem to have had much proper training so we are working on basic commands like sit and stay, but leash training is going well. He’s going to make a wonderful little 10 lb companion for someone . Adoption Info: Bart's adoption fee is $550 which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, negative heartworm test, vet visit and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Bart was a stray intake to the public San Bernardino City Shelter and red listed for space. He was pulled by our rescue partner, ARF, and transported to Seattle via Wiggle Butts arriving Sunday 3/30. He will be available for adoption once evaluated in foster care in the greater Seattle area.   April 7, 2025, 9:39 pm

Story
Hello! My name is Lucky. I was surrendered to RASKC when my previous owner could no longer care for me, now I`m looking for a new home! I`m a spunky little guy with a lot of sass and personality. My previous owner did not have me for long so couldn`t say much about my history. Here in the shelter I`ve been a bit nervous of new people but winning my trust is easy, especially if you`ll take for me a walk! I am most likely to succeed in a teen/adult home where my boundaries can be easily understood and respected. It`s unknown how I feel about other dogs, I haven`t had a chance to meet any here at RASKC. Any potential housemates should meet me here in the shelter first so the staff can help us get off on the right paw. I weigh 26lbs and am considered a small to medium dog. I have very short legs, so I don`t take up much space! I am a spirited dog with a fun-loving personality! I am still working on my manners, so I would do best with a family who is willing to work with me and help me become the best dog I can be!

Story
Bucky is a 19 yr old Daschund. He’s a good boy. Apparently, he doesn’t like to have his ears stepped on and needs a new home. (This is little kids who aren’t shown the proper way to deal with living, breathing animals). Please come forward now if you can give this old guy his last remaining time on earth free of the harassment of young children. He needs a savior right now. If you’re interested in Bucky, please fill out an application at sccpets, com and, if approved, we’ll put you in touch with the ownerIf you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application.April 3, 2025, 1:56 am

Story
Animal Profile: May is an adorable dachshund mix who is estimated to be about 3 years old and weighs around 12lbs. We suspect she had puppies not too long before ending up at a high kill shelter in San Bernardino, CA. She arrived in Seattle on March 16th and is getting settled into foster care.  Foster Update: Meet May! She is a sweet, gentle soul that is starting to come out of her shell in foster care. May wants you to know that she is a total cuddle bug and lap dog, though she is a little shy and nervous around new people at first, so she just asks that you're patient and give her some time to warm up. May is crate trained and potty trained, and she knows some basic tricks like "paw" and "sit". She is still timid in the outside world and gets nervous passing other dogs or people on walks. With more confidence and time to come out of her shell, we could see May really enjoying her time outdoors. May would do best in a more quiet/laid back household where she can continue to come out of her shell. She would love a forever family that is committed to helping her build up her confidence and get more comfortable in the outside world. May would do best in an adult-only household, and could be fine as the only dog or with another canine companion.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia at San Bernardino in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on March 16th. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.April 2, 2025, 11:42 pm

Story
ChuyAnimal Profile: Chewy is an estimated 12-18 month old, ~15-20lb chihuahua/dachshund mix (best guess) who was found as a stray in San Bernardino and completed his stray hold with our rescue partner ARF. He has been assessed to be friendly and social with people and dogs. He loves to run and play with people and is absolutely adorable; we are smitten! We will share more information as we get to know him in foster care.  Foster Updates: Meet Chewy! He is your perfectly sized friend, just under 20lbs and ready for all your cuddles and adventures! Chewy was pretty nervous when he first arrived with us, and needed a few days to acclimate and realize he was in safe hands. After a few days of decompressing, he was ready to show off his cuddly side and love for cozy dog beds. Chewy is a great companion in his foster home. He bonds quick with his people and loves to hangout by your side and accompany you on house tasks or keeping you company if you work from home. He is still a bit nervous in the outside world and can be intimidated by other dogs or new people. He does best with a slow introduction when meeting someone new, and he is curious about other dogs but does best with a confident handler on the other end of the leash. Chewy is learning some great leash manners in his foster home and getting more comfortable day by day. Chewy would do best in an adult-only forever  home. He wouldn't mind being a solo dog, but would also benefit from another calm, confident dog in his pack.  Adoption Information: Adoption fee is $550 which includes neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, recent vet visit and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Ruffles was a stray intake in San Bernradino, rescued in collaboration with our rescue partner ARF, and arriving to Seattle area foster care on 3/2/25. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.April 3, 2025, 6:52 pm
