Story
Sugar is a delicate little Chihuahua-Dachshund mix with a heart as soft as her name. She’s naturally shy and timid, but with patience and love, she’ll slowly come out of her shell and show you just how sweet she truly is. Once she trusts you, she’ll be your quiet little shadow, always ready to curl up in your lap and soak up all the warmth and affection she can. She currently lives in a home with a family, older kids, and a small dog sibling, so she’d do well in a home with other gentle pups. But she’d also thrive as the beloved companion of someone who understands her need for a calm and loving environment. If you’re looking for a tender-hearted pup who just needs a little time to feel safe, Sugar is ready to find a forever home where she can be loved at her own pace! Story
Meet Toby Toblerone Weinerwobble! This gorgeous boy is about 2 years old, only 12 pounds, and we think he may be a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix, but with rescue, it's always a guess! Watch Toby's video here: Yes, it's a silly name, but this Toby is one distinguished gentleman. He may be low to the ground, but this sweet boy rates sky high on the lovability scale! We adore his expressive eyes - we think it's the eyebrows that he uses to full effect - and this boy can get extra treats from us by tilting his head just so. (Who can resist an inquisitive head tilt? Not us!) And we simply cannot get over his lowrider status - his short legs are adorable. Sweet Toby can be shy at first in new places with new people, but don't let that fool you. He is quite the social butterfly and likes to meet new people, ever curious about what is going on....just...over...there. Toby will investigate his surroundings and choose the best place to sit (your lap), or if he must, a soft and fluffy dog bed. Toby loves to be outdoors and does well on a leash, but we can tell he would just love a nice backyard to run free. (Bonus: his legs are short, so the yard doesn't have to be that big, lol.) We love Toby’s happy and joyful attitude and know you will too! Application link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/67b6064903f12854b607826d Questions? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. **Canela The Dachshund Mix** Canela, once an abandoned dog, is now safe, happy, and seeking her forever home! Rompin Paws Rescue is looking for dedicated individuals who understand that adopting a dog is a lifelong commitment.   Despite having cloudy eyes, Canela enjoys life to the fullest. She loves running after her dog friends, chasing toys, and jumping into laps. We are seeking an opening with an ophthalmologist to have her eyes examined professionally. Her initial veterinarian states Canela has glaucoma.   Canela has a wonderful personality. She enjoys being held, cuddled, and interacting with people and other small-breed dogs. She would thrive in a home with those who work from home, retirees, or anyone with ample time to spend with her. She can fit into various living situations and be adaptable to both apartments and houses with yards. Rompin Paws Rescue seeks adopters who can provide Canela with engaging activities to keep her stimulated. She is ready to bring joy and companionship to her forever family. Canela does not want to be an only dog. She has been described as a social butterfly and is the most outgoing of foster dogs being cared for by volunteers who own a doggie daycare. Canela prefers to be out in the yard with the day dog,s socializing and playing for hours.   If you believe you could be the right match for Canela, visit our website to apply for adoption. The process is simple, and we will review your application within 24 business hours. Canela’s adoption fee is $495.00.
