Story
Tickles came to us when the person he`d spent his entire life with lost their home, and could not find anywhere to live, especially with multiple pets. Tickles arrived with two other dogs, and was adopted into a loving home with littermate Hotdog. Unfortunately, as sometimes happens with littermates who have been together their entire lives, these two have decided that 14 years with their sibling is plenty long enough! So they are back with us, hanging out in separate condos this time, and we are looking for homes for them individually. Tickles is a friendly and cheerful dog, and quite active in our fenced-in yards, despite his age. Keeping him active is important for his on-going need to get to a healthier weight. In the past, Tickles lived with other dogs, cats, children, and even farm animals, but maybe he`s now wishing to spend his golden years getting all the attention for himself. We can talk about whether other animals in the home would be a match for him. When you adopt an elder pet, you are truly doing it for them, to focus on their needs: medical, physical, and emotional. The love and devotion you get back may be a brief time, but it`s absolutely priceless. If you are looking for a real character to add to your life, who will give you plenty of laughs and love, Tickles could be just what you are looking for! Could you be the next loving home in his journey? The adoption fee for Tickles is $100, and if his new person would like to take a Good Manners training course, that will be available at our discounted fee of $100. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email info@centralvermonthumane.org, to schedule a time to talk to an adoption counselor about Tickles, and to determine if you should meet him.
