Story
Toby is a 9 week old purebread shorthair dachsund. We bought him from a breeder a few days ago, but need to rehome him on advice from our allergist, as we have an intense dog allergy in the family that we were unaware of. We are so sad to have to rehome him and want him to go to a family that truly needs him. Toby is mostly potty trained on fake grass, though he still needs to be brought outside regularly as he is still learning to signal that he has to go. He has his shots and a clean bill of health. He is playful and friendly, but also loves to curl up next to you to nap. We hope that he can go to a great home that will love him as much as we do. We have lots of dog supplies that can go with him, including: treats, a few small toys, a play pen, harness, leash, two small sweaters, and a doggy bed.

Story
Meet Penny: The Little Dynamo with a Big Heart! Penny is a delightful six-year-old dachshund mix with a personality as perky as her cute curly tail! Weighing in at just 16 lbs, she’s the world’s tiniest German Shepherd look-alike, and she’s ready to steal your heart. Penny’s journey hasn’t been easy; she was found running loose in a field, likely abandoned by a previous owner. But her spirit remained unbroken, and when she arrived at the shelter, she was a bit down in the kennel. Thankfully, her luck took a turn for the better when she was spotted by her foster mom! Penny is a sweet soul who lights up the room whenever she sees her people or their friends. Her excitement is contagious—she jumps and cries with joy, letting everyone know she’s ready for love and attention. She has a special fondness for her furry friends, especially those her size. Although she was initially cautious around her foster mom’s large golden retriever, she quickly learned that he was a friend. This clever little girl knows how to sit, jump, and spin, making playtime a blast! She loves to cozy up in your lap or curl up in her favorite dog bed after a fun-filled day. Mellow and affectionate, Penny is mostly potty trained and kennel trained, making her an easy addition to any home.. Penny has a penchant for tasty dog bones and snuggling, and she’s ready to find her forever home where she can share her love and joy. Penny has been spayed, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt). Ralphie is great and really loyal! He is just very high energy for my wife and I right now. He also needs plenty of training. He has a very hard time meeting new people and dogs. He gets scared and nips or bites if approached directly or too fast. Once he is familiar with someone he is very sweet and kind. Well trained for bathroom and knows plenty of tricks! Needs a family with time and knowledge on training a fearful or reactive dog!

Story
Meet Naya! She is currently 14 weeks old, about 8 lbs, and we think she may be a Dachshund/ lab mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. Watch Naya’s video here: https://youtu.be/9dzYL8_mDjw?feature=shared Naya is playful and fun-loving, especially when she’s romping around with her sister, but she also adores the company of people. Naya will happily crawl into your lap for snuggles and sweet moments of affection. She’s had experience living with other dogs and would fit right in with a family that already has furry companions. But if you’re looking for a loyal new bestie, Naya is ready to be your one and only. This sweet girl is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly, and she’s ready to bring joy to her forever home! Naya is still young so she will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Naya's new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and hikes or show off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. One of our Adoption Coordinators can help to find the closest transport pick up location to you! The adoption fee is $1,000.00 and includes all vetting as recommended by our doctor: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine (if old enough), multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2 months of heartworm preventative, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! *WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW or the NE at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 6 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $74 surcharge for transport. Story
Sugar is a delicate little Chihuahua-Dachshund mix with a heart as soft as her name. She’s naturally shy and timid, but with patience and love, she’ll slowly come out of her shell and show you just how sweet she truly is. Once she trusts you, she’ll be your quiet little shadow, always ready to curl up in your lap and soak up all the warmth and affection she can. She currently lives in a home with a family, older kids, and a small dog sibling, so she’d do well in a home with other gentle pups. But she’d also thrive as the beloved companion of someone who understands her need for a calm and loving environment. If you’re looking for a tender-hearted pup who just needs a little time to feel safe, Sugar is ready to find a forever home where she can be loved at her own pace! Email Katiak@threelittlepittiesrescue.org We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey! You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!  The adoption fee is $900 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!  We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.  Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!
