Story
Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617**Due to his daughter, Puppy, needing spayed, their adoption will not be finalized until on or after: 6-6-26***ROSCOE & PUPPY ARE A BONDED PAIR***Could he do well with kids? Yes, on a kid-by-kid basis.Could he do well with other dogs? Yes, on a dog-by-dog basis.Has this dog lived with cats? Yes. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Roscoe is an older boy who still has plenty of energy. He came in with his daughter, Puppy, and we are looking to place them together. Roscoe handled well during our interaction and sought continued contact. He would even bark demandingly if he felt our engagement was too short. When I was petting Puppy, he often positioned himself between us to get attention. When separated from Puppy, Roscoe initially did well, but he began to exhibit clear anxiety if she was away for an extended time.Outdoors, he was more focused on his environment but walked well on a leash with minimal pulling. He did not show signs of knowing any cues but demonstrated good recovery around sudden noises and startling movements. While he didn’t engage in playtime, he enjoyed meeting new people. He appeared hesitant about meeting a new dog; although he was curious, he was reluctant to approach.---For more resources to help with any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDT

She showed signs of anxiety when separated from him but enjoyed interacting with me. Puppy walked well on a leash, often staying close, and was eager to explore during playtime, though she didn`t engage with toys. While she startled easily and had some difficulty recovering, she generally overcame her fears. She was friendly with people but hesitant around new dogs, giving appropriate corrections when overwhelmed.---For more resources to help with any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDT
