Story
I got Benny from a facebook page trying to rehome him around 1 year ago. He is around 4 years old. We need him to go to a home preferably with a backyard and no other dogs, he has energy and an apartment lifestyle isnt for him. He gets anxious around new people and animals and its got him constantly on edge. He is a very sweet boy and needs time to get used to you and trust you. We can tell he has probably been abused in a past home also. He is good around kids who respect him and arent anxious around him. Younger kids or kids with anxiety are not a good mix with him. He does good home alone as long as no food is to where he can get it. He isn’t destructive and only chews his own toys. He is good with my rabbit and cat but we had to slowly get him used to them.

Story
This debonair guy is Concho! Concho is an approximately 14-month old male Dachshund mix who weighs around 15 lbs. He was rescued from a local casino where he had severely injured his left front leg to the point it had to be amputated. But Concho knows no limitations! He runs and plays with his foster siblings with no issues! He is such a sweet boy and is loving this living in a house thing! Concho can be a little shy and hesitant at first but give him time and his incredible personality will come through! Concho does require another playful dog in the home and a secure fenced back yard. HOME CHECK REQUIRED! Concho is house-trained to a doggy door, is crated when left alone, and is progressing with his leash-training. A harness is the best choice for him. Concho is neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $225. To adopt Concho go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application.

Story
Gilbert is a great companion and pet. He is a rescue who came from an abusive home. Because of this, he is slightly reactive. He needs time to warm up to people and doesn't like strangers touching him. Once he warms up though after a few days, he is the most friendly, loyal, and cute pet. He loves spending time outside - walks are his favorite - and enjoys chewing on bones and treats. Small kids present a threat to Gilbert, until he's fully warmed up. The sudden movement of children can cause him to be guarded and reactive. A good trainer and a patient owner can manage his triggers well. Ideally I'd love to see him in a home that will be attentive to his needs with plenty of time for walks. Gilbert is 10 years old and is about 18 pounds. His adoption will come with plenty of food, crate, extra bed, multiple leashes and harnesses, shampoo, and cleaners.
