Story
From his Foster: Archie is a rust-colored, short-haired terrier mix, medium sized and about 22 pounds. He’s had a rough start in the first year of his life, but in spite of that, he wants nothing more than to be with people that can demonstrate love and kindness and show him what it means to be safe. He seems to be housebroken and gets along well with other dogs. It doesn’t seem he started life with people that spent much time with him or taught him basic commands. But he learns quickly and wants to please. He loves being outside on walks, has no problems with a leash and walks well with his person considering it’s all a new experience. When he’s not out walking, his next favorite activity is curling up in the lap of his person for pets and a nice nap. Archie would do best in a home with a patient owner that has the time to bring out the best in him. A fenced yard would be ideal, but if not, an owner that’d be committed to walking him 3-4 times per day would do Archie wonders. Other dogs would be a big help in showing him the ropes and teaching him how to be the most confident dog he can be. Archie is a kind, loving and super-sweet boy that has a ton of potential. He’s just waiting for that special person to help him realize it.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Tipsy! Tipsy is a loving fun little girl. She loves to cuddle, she loves kisses. She loves playing with her foster siblings and even the 3 cats. Tipsy is a bit timid at first and takes a bit to warm up, but once she knows you she is happy to greet you and play. She can be territorial when other dogs or cats are around. She will need to be in a home without small children. Tipsy will do anything for treats or food. She trots like a horse. When she does bark which isn't much it is more of a yodel. Sometimes she barks normally which I think is her doxie side coming out. She is crate trained, and sleeps at night in the crate, she is not enthused about it, but does go in. She will whine a little and then settles down. This sweet girl follows her foster mom everywhere. She has learned to use steps and we are working on the doggie door. She seems a little afraid of it. She is good about going out, but you have to send her out every few hours as she doesn't tell you when she needs to go. She is pretty good at trying to hit the pee pads as well. If someone is eating she wants in on the action. Tipsy is ready for her forever home.*Note Tipsy is part of our Foster to Adopt program. Apply now if you are interested in testing how she woul d acclimate in your home* Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 22, 2025, 5:04 pm

RCHS does not conduct DNA tests on dogs who enter our facility therefore we are unable to guarantee breed or breed mix. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.
