Story
ABOUT ME... Hello, I am Sissy. I am a 9-year-old Dachshund mix. I came into rescue in September with my 4-year-old babies after my owner was hospitalized. We were left for days without going outside or being fed. We were scared and hungry until the nice people picked us up and took us to the vet for medical attention. I had a giant mammary tumor removal and a dental where I lost lots of teeths! I AM GREAT WITH... I love other dogs, I have great potty habits, I love my comfortable bed and I love to cuddle. I am very treat motivated. They are my favorite. Also, I will not run off, I like to stay close to my human. I can be in a crate, my foster mom has me in a playpen with a comfortable bed for the best naps. I love laying on the blankets, not sure what a toy is right now. I have not been around cats or children, but my foster mom thinks I will be fine with anyone. I AM STILL WORKING ON... I am super passive and love naps and cuddling. I cannot think of anything I am working on, but if I do, I will let you know. I AM NOT GOOD WITH... I do not know very many tricks. I would rather take a nap or eat a treat than do tricks, they do not seem fun to me. **All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM. Booster shots are included in the adoption fee and will be performed at our clinic, or the adopter can use their own vet at their expense. Adopters must reside within 2 hours of Columbus, OH. No transportation assistance is available.**

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
ABOUT ME... My name is Peanut. My owner went into the hospital long-term, leaving my mother, sister, and me to find new homes. We had been left alone for several days with no food or water, not able to go outside to potty, and terribly infested with fleas. I am a four-year-old, dachshund, pomeranian, and lab mix.. COPAW rescued us and placed me with a great foster mom. I AM GREAT WITH... I am great at sleeping. I would sleep all day if you let me. I love to cuddle with my human. That is my favorite thing to do. I love everyone, men, women, and older kids. The kids must be gentle, I do not like roughhouse, but I do like other dogs and cats. In case you are wondering, I am housebroken. If my foster mom is getting dressed, I will politely use the pee paid she laid down for me. I am so happy I have the pad, so I do not have accidents in the house. My foster mom says I am a great walker on the leash. I love to go for walks with my foster mom. I AM STILL WORKING ON... I do not like the crate at all. I try to eat the metal bars so I can escape. Being left alone makes me anxious, I cry while my foster mom is at work. I get so upset I have broken two gates and broke out of the kennel twice. I am simply scared my foster mom in not coming back and I do not want to be left along again. I am trying hard to do better. Once I am in my forever home and I learn the routine, my fear of being left alone should improve. I AM NOT GOOD WITH... I do not like to share my food. I will become food aggressive. My foster mom said it is probably because I went a long time without food while my previous owner was in the hospital, and I was extremely hungry. Right now, I want to fight the other dogs for my food. I am working on this. I think once I realize I will be fed everyday I will not mind sharing my food. My foster mom says all around I am the best boy ever, just do not ever leave my side. **All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Mini and Coco Puff! (Perfect Pairs: Doxy and Min-Pin!) This sweet, small, senior pair grew up together. When their owner passed away, they were dropped off at a shelter, leaving their whole lives upended and confused. Mini is a female dachshund mix and Coco Puff is a male min pin mix. Both of these dogs are pretty perfect. They are house-trained, laid back, and really just want a home to live out the rest of their lives. Mini is a little shy at first but she warms up quickly. Both dogs are quiet and very relaxed. They do well with other dogs and even with the resident kitty. They have not been kid-tested since being with DASH, but they have not shown any concerning signs of behavior. If you are ready to have affectionate and easy-going companionship, these two could not be more perfect for you. Double your fun! The adoption fee listed is for this perfect pair.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 17, 2024, 12:54 pm

Story
Daisy and Donut are 2 yrs old. The perfect age as they are all grown out of the puppy stages. They are both housebroken and just the sweetest lovable dogs. They are current on all vaccinations and preventatives and have been spayed and neutered. Daisy is a little more high energy but not excessive. She is wonderful especially if she has a chewy bone or toy. Not destructive, she just likes something to chew on. Donut is lower energy but still loves to chase a ball and play with his sibling. They both know sit and will shake when asked as well. Leash and kennel trained and will sleep in their kennel 8-9 hours with no problems. They are great dogs and their family does not want to give them up but they have had a coupled unexpected deaths in the family and unforeseen circumstances that make it unfair for these two as far as time and space. Their current family would love for them to go together and the adoption fees can be adjusted accordingly if we can find a spot together for them both. We will consider single applications if we can’t find a home together. Once adopted Daisy and Donut will will travel via private transport (transport cost is $165.00) to a location closest to you. If you would like to make this family of two part of your life and home please follow the link below to our application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9
