Story
Hi! The shelter staff are calling me Nathan. I was surrendered to the shelter after my former owner moved and could no longer keep me. I am a little shy at first, so I will need someone who is willing to be patient with me. Once I feel safe though, I am a very sweet boy. If you are interested in meeting me, come visit the Miami County Animal Shelter.

Story
Hello world! I would like to introduce you all to the wonderful Mad Moxxi! Mad Moxxi is a 3-month-old, 7lbs, Dachshund Mix who is ready to steal your heart! Moxxi is a super sweet girl. She is a master class cuddle bug and she loves to be held like a human baby. When her siblings are running around playing, she can be found following her foster parents around the house, or snuggled in their laps. Moxxi is a lover and she is ready to love you! Moxxi's favorite toy is her Puppy Heartbeat Soother Toy. She does well in a crate as long as she has her heartbeat toy! As you have likely guessed, Moxxi loves people and animals of all sizes. She enjoys hanging out with dogs, cats, kids, and adults. Moxxi has yet to meet a person she didn't like! Moxxi is a friendly and gentle soul who would love a house full of people who love her as much as she loves them. As you can likely guess, Moxxi and her siblings are not potty-trained, but they are really smart and will likely catch on quickly. They have responded well to pee-pads, and with the proper attention, they will be potty-trained in no time. If you are looking for a chill, friendly, and sweet puppy, then look no further! Moxxi would love to be your friend. Consider applying for Moxxi today! Moxxi is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $400.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Are you looking for an adventurous hound dog with a cute face and a sweet demeanor? If so, look no further- meet Handsome Jack! Handsome Jack is a 3-month-old, 8lbs, Dachshund Mix who loves to play and discover new things. Jack is the playful one of his group. He loves to chase and initiate play fights with his siblings. He will play with just about anything, but does like smaller tennis balls or balls that match his size. Jack is also the most curious puppy, for better or for worst. This means that Jack is the bravest of his siblings, and will try treats or toys first before giving the 'all clear' to his sisters. On the other hand, when he is about to go somewhere he shouldn't, or get into something he shouldn't, he has responded really well to being called out and redirected. He is a great listener (specifically for a young puppy)! While he may not be the most affectionate puppy in his litter, Jack still loves to give out free kisses to humans and animals he likes. Jack gets along with cats, dogs, kids, and adults. Jack does well in a crate, but it doesn't mean he is perfect. Jack has ripped up pee pads and puppy blankets. He may just be too smart and inquisitive for his own good! Jack will need a lot of stimulation, but like most puppies, after a bit of running around and exploring, he will want to nap in your lap for hours. As you can likely guess, Jack and his siblings are not potty-trained, but they are really smart and will likely catch on quickly. They have responded well to pee-pads, and with the proper attention, they will be potty-trained in no time. If you want a playful puppy with big floppy ears, then consider applying for Jack today! Jack is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. His adoption fee is $400.00. Story
We adopted Eddie as a puppy in September of 2023. He is a fun, loving, and active dog (for a Bassett). He will be 2 this August and we are looking for someone to adopt him that we will be able to give him more of their time. Unfortunately, Eddie gets bored when he is home without us and will get into things he shouldn’t, so he must be kenneled when we are not home. My husband and I have super busy schedules now and we hate that he doesn’t have the proper time and engagement that he should. He loves to be outside, he does fairly well on hikes, and he loves to play with other dogs. We have a baby and he does great with our 6 month old. Eddie is such a good and loving dog who deserves a family and a home that will provide him with the attention he needs. He can be stubborn but he is a great cuddler.
