Charlotte and Biscuit are a bonded pair of Dachshunds. Charlotte is 12 years old and Biscuit is 10 years old. They were surrendered to Rico as their owner with advanced Alzheimer could no longer care for them. Both dogs were in bad shape. Rico has placed them in a foster home where they are getting the care they need to treat their skin issues, matted hair, ear infections and provide them with dental care. Both dogs are obese and need to lose weight. Despite their past, Biscuit and Charlotte are soaking up the love in their foster home. They are snuggling on the couch, playing with toys and getting along with other dogs and even kids. If you see this senior pair in your future, please apply at ricopetrecovery.org to meet them. The adoption fee for Charlotte is $200.

Meet Elton Elton came to us after he and his brothers were living in a car, Their little faces were injured from competing for meals and Elton was clearly the one who lost that battle. Fast forward to today and Eltons story looks very different Elton and his brothers are now safe in our foster system and thriving. Hes gaining weight, learning how to be an indoor dog, and soaking up all the love. Elton is fully vetted, adores attention, and quietly sleeps through the night in his crate. Hes also working hard on his house training and making great progress.This sweet boy is still learning what it means to feel secure, and hes looking for a patient, loving forever family to help him continue growing into the confident house dog we know he can be.You can apply to meet Elton at ricopetrecovery.org. MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com Layla is a 3-year-old, 35-pound Dachshund mix and truly an absolute dream. This adorable little lady is dog-, cat-, and kid-friendly, fully housebroken, and crate trained. she really checks all the boxes! Layla is playful and gentle, happily zooming around the house and dropping a toy in your lap when she’s ready for a game of fetch. She loves snuggling just as much as she loves playing, and her sweet spirit fills every room she’s in. She is currently heartworm positive and undergoing treatment, fully paid for by the rescue, and is expected to make a complete recovery with no lasting effects. Layla will have restricted activity during her treatment that will need to be strictly followed. Even on restricted activity, Layla remains her joyful, loving self — just a little extra cuddly as she heals. Continuing routine heartworm tests and monthly prevention will be important for her future health.Layla would love nothing more than to spend the holidays with a family who will cherish her as much as she’ll adore them. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first thing to do is submit an application for approval. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the rescue location as it is a privately run boarding, training & grooming facility. Individual meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. Age: 3 years Adoption fee: $400
