Meet Toby, the delightful Dachshund mix! At just 22 lbs and around 1-2 years old, this affectionate goofball loves to munch on tasty treats and share silly moments. With a passion for long walks and a friendly demeanor, he gets along fabulously with his furry friends. Toby is ready to fill your life with love and laughter! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. Adopt Rupert 💗 Dachshund mix, born 12/12/23, neutered male, 18lbs Welcome back Rupert! Rupert was adopted as a young puppy, and returned a few weeks ago, due to guarding the “mom” in the home from the other human family members. With structure, and boundaries in his foster home, he is doing so much better. Rupert has all of the puppy energy, and very eager to please. He loves to fetch ball but will also entertain himself by throwing his toys up into the air, then pouncing on them. Rupert LOVES his person; he will walk to the ends of the earth for his special human. As with most dogs who attach to one person, he loves to be wherever they are. Rupert enjoys car rides, walks well on a leash, and knows “sit”. In a new home Rupert will be a little hesitant to trust for the first couple of days but once he realizes everything is okay, he does just fine. He’s doing well with housetraining and only has had an accident if he is left unattended for an extended period of time. Rupert has great house manors and isn’t destructive. He is crated at night and while his foster is at work during the day without any issues or accidents. This sweet 2 year old girl has velvety fur and amber eyes to melt your heart! She is a return to OBHR as her first home was not a good fit for her. She is also the mother of the litter of pups we had in last year including next year's cover model Poppy!  Ethel is doing great in her foster home and LOVES to play with the other dogs. She is high energy and will do best in a home with another young playful dog. She will need an active family. She pretty much ignores the cats. She is house trained and will use the dog door. She will need a bit more training to keep her from being a bit human possessive. She does LOVE to snuggle so will just need a bit of boundary work. She will need a home with a fenced in yard and we would prefer kids over 10 due to her energy level! She is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati area.
