This little pretty chocolate dappled girl is called Mazie and goodness what a cracker jack she is. Don’t for minute let those green eyes and chocolate marbled coat fool you to think she is gentle or easy. She is the CEO of dogs and will run the show at your house if given the chance. Mazie is 30 pounds and 9 months old. She is a breed mix of Dachshund and Basset Hound we are told. Her pics make her look big but she is a “tiny but mighty” little girl. Mazie is not a fan of any other female dogs in her life or around her. We don’t know where that came from but the dislike is there so we say…don’t ignore the warning. She is great with big male dogs, not good with other small dogs or cats, but loves people deeply and wants to be around them. She needs a fenced yard because she is a runner as most Dachshunds can be and she needs to be able to run and play and get her energy out daily. Older children would be better for her and she is crate trained, 90% housebroken and she adores going for walks; a very good girl on a leash we can say. She is beautiful but a “tad” bit complicated, which is why we have outlined the Likes and Dislikes of this girl to a TEE! The owner of Arlo, Lainey and 4 other akc registered doxies was living in a rental home with 4 children and the landlord said the dogs had to go. Her mom took them while she was supposed to find another place to live but that did not happen. Her mom had 3 dogs of her own and was overwhelmed so she asked for help. All the dogs are sweet but we took Arlo and Lainey. These two are quite bonded so we are going to try to place them together. They are both spay/neutered, UTD on vaccines and HW negative, They will also be microchipped. In their original home, they were left on a self feeder and I am afraid Arlo overindulged but Lainey was able to keep her figure. They are both so so sweet and cute! They both Love cuddles and kisses! They both seem to be reliably housetrained. Arlo is a red pie bald and Lainey is a black and tan wirehaired doxie. Lainey was born on 9/10/2021 so she is 3 years old, Arlo is 4. Milo is a very special pure bred Dachshund who is turning 4 years of age in January 2025. He is weighing in on the heavy side at 28 pounds due to this Previous owner having major health issues and could not take him out for the exercise he needed. He is walking now and on a fair and practical diet to trim him down about 8 pounds. Milo is a handsome light blonde boy that is in our care after owner asked us to take him and find a great home. He is adjusting to the new life with his foster mom and another dog in the foster home and also a cat. He is finding his rhythm in the new lifestyle and is housebroken when on a schedule and walks nicely and quietly on the leash in the neighborhood. This boy is so loving and just wants to snuggle when inside with you and sniff all the outside worldly smells when on a walk. He loves his sweaters and his darling winter coat and he craves your attention and a recliner to sit in with you. He is healthy and getting happier as the world of going for walks has started anew for him. He is hanging out with a Lab/pit mix male and they are enjoying each other’s company. The cat is not so happy but tolerant about Milo being there and he is trying to be respectful. If you love the Dachshund breed then you will love our pleasantly plump Milo, who is soon to be a little muscle man instead, once he drops a few pounds, he will be a treat to have at the end of your leash and a companion maybe sleeping on the pillow next to you. He is game for the next “Big Adventure” in life as long as it is active.
