Foster Needed for Persimmon! Meet Persimmon, a sweet and very social young male Dachshund in need of a foster or foster-to-adopt home! Persimmon is a friendly little guy who loves people and other dogs. Despite having a back leg issue that needs to be evaluated, he has no issues getting around and is full of energy and love. However, Persimmon does not like to be left alone and would do best with a foster who can spend lots of time with him. His back leg issue is that he can walk but at times his legs are a bit wobbly. He has seen an orthopedic vet and has been medicated. We would love to get him into a foster home while we determine if he needs further care. He will also require a neuter and dental procedure, and all veterinary appointments will take place in South Jersey. We're looking for a foster who can commit to bringing him to these appointments. Foster Requirements: Must be able to transport Persimmon to vet appointments in South Jersey. Provide a loving and caring home while we work on his medical needs. A patient and gentle approach as Persimmon undergoes evaluation and treatment. Preferably someone who can be with Persimmon for much of the day, as he thrives on companionship. Benson is a 13-year-old Dachshund mix who is looking for a new home. His owner became ill and was in the hospital, leaving Benson home alone. One of her coworkers would feed Benson every couple days. When his owner went to a hospice facility, another coworker took Benson to see her one last time. We decided to take Benson into our rescue because he had nowhere to go. Benson is good with cats and dogs. He enjoys playing with the other dogs in his foster home and gets along with the cats. He's been around young and older kids and enjoyed cuddling with them. He has learned to use the doggie door at his foster home, but occasionally marks inside (we think this is because the person checking on him wasn't letting him out. He was just dumped food and filled the water bowl). He would make a great family dog and do well in a multi-dog home or as an only dog. Benson will be microchipped, neutered and brought up to date on his vaccines before heading to his new home. Located in South Jersey. We made the difficult decision to re-home our sweet girl, Penny. We do not want to put her in a shelter, instead we are hoping to find a loving family interested in adopting. We would like to meet in person to ensure that Penny is a good fit for you and properly cared for. About Penny: Penny is 5 years old, shorthaired, and 18 pounds. A home without small children is a must. She is good with other dogs and cats, especially ones that are her size. I suspect she would do amazing with another dachshund to keep her company. Chloe is an amazing little pup who is about 5 years old and weighs 9 lbs. Chloe is a chiweenie mix, she has a long body and small head. She is not getting any bigger. This little girl is so sweet and just full of love. At first, she is a little timid and can be a bit scared. After a few days, she will start coming around and she is the funniest, cuddliest tiny baby you’ll meet. Chloe LOVES other dogs and would thrive with another dog in the house as she does lack confidence. She has been living with 3 other dogs and 2 cats in the home. She loves to cuddle with her fur-siblings if you’re not available to cuddle. She fears younger children as they can be loud and move fast. Children are okay if they’re calmer and understand patience with Chloe. Chloe LOVES her food and is very food and treat motivated. Chloe is pad/house trained and she is crate trained. She knows to jump on the couch or bed to cuddle, watch TV and sleep. At night she will put herself under your blankets as she gets cold quite easily. Her favorite spot to sleep above all else is in your neck. She will climb to the top of the couch or to your pillows and just curl up in the crook of your neck and fall asleep. She is not a big fan of leashes but can learn to walk on one. An ideal home for Chloe would be one with gentle children and somebody with patience (in the beginning) to allow Chloe time to decompress and come out of her shell. When she learns to trust you, she gets the zoomies and is one of the best dogs you’ll ever have. She is very loyal and loves her humans endlessly. Chloe is spayed, current on vaccinations, microchipped, heart worm negative, current on preventions and will have a health certificate from a veterinarian giving her a clean bill of health.
