She's currently with our rescue partner in Louisiana and can travel to NJ if we find her a foster or adopter. For approved adopters, we offer a foster-to adopt trial- giving you and Eden a chance to make sure it's the perfect match before making it official. Meet Eden- the absolute cutest little wiggle butt you'll ever meet! At just 3 years old this 37lb Dachshund/Heeler mix (with an irresistibly corgi-esque wiggle) is the perfect size for cuddles and fun. Eden dog and kid friendly, making her an ideal buddy for families and fellow pups alike. Eden's playful spirit and gentle nature shine every day. She has such a sweet personality. Eden is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. She just started her heartworm treatment and is available to come to NJ once completed in March. If we have a foster or adopter who would like to take her sooner, we can continue her treatment in NJ which will entail her taking to our vet for treatment and keeping her calm throughout her treatment. Her adoption fee is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. Mickey is currently with one of our sister rescues in Louisiana and will be making his way to NJ on 1/10. Meet sweet Mickey a.k.a. Mr. Mick! Mickey is a 24 pound sweetheart who LOVES attention. He loves nothing more than to snuggle next to you or in your lap. He is a perfect office dog who lays on the couch while we work. His favorite toys are a rubber donut that bounces and he gets to chase it (he LOVES to play chase with other dogs as well) and a nylabone toy for him to chew on. This awesome little boy has a playful personality and a knack for finding socks and soft blankets - he thinks they make great chew toys! With a little guidance and plenty of chew toys he will happily redirect his energy. Mickey is house and kennel trained. Mickey loves to play with other dogs and is good with older children (his enthusiasm can sometimes be a bit much for very small children). Mickey is very food motivated and is easy to train/correct. He came from a hoarding situation where he did not get much one-on-one attention, petting, or handling, so new experiences can be scary for him at first. When picked up, he may tremble, and sudden movements can make him uneasy, but with patience and kindness, his true personality shines through. Abhi does best with a soft-spoken, calm person who understands that trust takes time. Once he feels safe, he is incredibly sweet. If you place him on the couch or bed while you are nearby, he will happily stay close, and when he warms up, he will roll over to show his belly for gentle rubs. Slow movements and a peaceful environment help him feel comfortable and secure. He is still working on house training and has had a few accidents, so he will need a patient adopter or foster willing to help him learn. Outside, Abhi will potty, but he is nervous and may try to find places to hide, so a doggy playpen or secure area is recommended until he gains confidence. Abhi has met other dogs and a cat. He may initially react if another dog gets too much in his space, but he settles quickly and does well with calm, respectful dogs. He would thrive in a home with a mellow canine companion or as an only dog, and older, considerate children who understand giving him space. Abhi is truly a sweet little guy who just needs time, love, and reassurance to blossom. With patience, he will reward you with quiet companionship and a heart full of gratitude. He is currently with our partner rescue in Louisiana and will be landing in a NJ foster home on 1/10. Prancer came to our partner rescue with his brother and has bene learning that the world isn't such a scary place after all. He can be a little timid at first, but once he decides you're his person, he'll stick by your side like a shadow. His happy place? Right next to you (or more accurately on your if you'll let him) Prancer isn't the outdoorsy type- a quick potty break and he's ready to head back inside for couch cuddles. He's a calm, low energy boy who would rather curl up than chase a ball. He's made amazing strides in his foster home. Kennel time used to be tough for him but he sleeps through the night next to his foster siblings kennel. If you're looking for a gentle, loyal companion, Prancer's your guy! She does like to eat. LOL. She is a good girl, we are working on her skin, as she seems to have skin allergies, whether it was from fleas or environment. Older calm girl, but still has some spunk. loves to go outside, loves treats and chew toys, may be a little hard of hearing, but can hear. Good girl and low maintenance.
