Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Jethro is an adorable pup who is looking for a home. Jethro is with our partner rescue in Louisiana. He is eligible for foster or a foster-to-adopt trial with an approved adopter.  Elly Mae, Jed and Jethro were surrendered to a high kill shelter in Louisiana during the middle of a parvo outbreak. They were semi feral and terrified of meeting people. Their Louisiana foster family has put a lot of time and effort into these pups to get them socialized and more used to meeting new people. They are still timid pups but foster mom says they are the sweetest pups too. They are good with other dogs, cats and older kids too. Jethro is described as the shyest one but also the goofiest. Jethro is fixed, up to date on vaccines and tested negative  for heartworm. His adoption fee is $550.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. How to Adopt Me! Story
This dog is part of our shelter outreach program where we take dogs from overcrowded shelters in hopes of finding them a forever home here! We generally do not have much background info on them and cannot guarantee they are housebroken.  They are all up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped.  Pearl's Holiday Wish Meet Pearl, our adorable 6-year-old (18lbs) Dachshund! This sweet girl came to the shelter with her best buddy Lou Ann, and while they'd love a home together, they don't have to be adopted as a pair. Pearl is dog-friendly, has average exercise needs, and is simply looking for a loving home where she can snuggle up and feel safe. As we approach the holidays, all Pearl wants is a cozy spot by the fireplace and a family to call her own. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate companion, Pearl might just be the perfect fit for your home. Breed experience is a plus! Could you be the one to make Pearl’s holiday season extra special? Come meet her today! &#226&#156&#168*Per JSAC policy, puppies and kittens under 6 months will not be adopted to families with children under the age of 6 years.January 25, 2025, 7:00 pm

Story
ADOPTED*** Toast – Female – DOB 3/13/2023 (1 year 8 months) Doug’s Sister - Black/Tan Dachshund chi mix ADOPTED*** Russell – Male – 13.8 lbs – DOB 5/18/2022 (2 years 6 months) – Black/Tan Dachshund chi mix Doug – Male – 10.1 lbs – DOB 3/13/2023 (1 year 8 months) – Brindle Dachshund/Chi mix ADOPTED*** Daisy – Puppy - Female – 5 lbs – Under 5 months of age - Brown Dachshund/Chi Mix About Dougie, the last available dachshund – He is a CUDDLER to the max and wants to be in your lap or laying next to you whenever he possibly can. He will be your shadow and follow you everywhere. Doug loves to give kisses and his biggest goal in life is to make his family/person happy. He is quite outgoing once he comes out of his shell (which doesn’t take long). His foster says if he could, he would be glued or handcuffed to you so you can always be next to you. He would be wonderful for somebody that is home more often than not and wants a very needy, cuddly small dog. Doug loves other dogs and would prefer a home with another dog or dogs in it, but it is not required. He can be a bit shy – if you come at him too quickly or scare him by picking him up too fast, he will/can pee a little bit. The foster calls it a “nervous pee-er” – Poor Dougie. While he has been raised with children, we believe a home that is a little more on the calm side is best. Doug is not very interested in toys but does occasionally when he is super excited get the zoomies and runs all over the place and acts like he’s a flying dog jumping on and off furniture in the middle of the zoomies. All 4 doggies have been raised in the same household but unfortunately the owners can no longer care for them properly (they have other doggies). They have been very loved and cared for their whole lives. They are all mostly house trained and they’re all very happy, well-socialized dogs. They have been raised with children and would do wonderful with them. As you can see in the video the fosters young daughter is laying on the floor and all 4 come running to lick her all over. These 4 have been raised with other dogs and cats and have no issues with either! If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application at www.pawsitive-impact-animal-rescue.org
