Hi everybody, my name is Lady Jane. I came all the way from Alabama to Minnesota in the middle of a freezing January. At first, I didn’t understand why everything had changed. I thought maybe it was temporary—that I’d be going back home soon. But little by little, I realized this was something new… a second chance at life. And even though it started out unfamiliar and cold, I’ve learned to love it here—yes, even the snow. I’m a gentle, easygoing girl who finds joy in the simple things. I love lounging in a cozy spot, but I also enjoy going on walks, especially when I can follow bunny trails or quietly watch birds in the bushes. My foster family says I’m especially cute when I do that. I’m not much of a barker—I’ll just give a soft little “hi” now and then to let you know I’m nearby. More than anything, I just want to be close to someone… to belong. From her foster: Lady Jane came from a home where she lived with her daughter and another dog, and it’s clear she’s always known love. She absolutely thrives on affection—belly rubs, gentle attention, and simply being near her people. Her floppy ears and soulful brown eyes will stop you in your tracks—and her sweet, calm nature will stay with you long after. She’s house-trained, incredibly polite, and praise-motivated. She communicates so gently—a tiny whine or a soft paw when she needs to go outside or when her water dish needs a refill. She takes a little extra time with long stairs and isn’t able to jump onto couches or people, but she doesn’t mind at all. She’s happiest just being near you, wherever you are. Lady Jane truly is the easiest kind of companion—sweet, patient, and full of quiet love. And that sad look in her photos? It doesn’t tell the whole story. Because Lady Jane hasn’t given up. She’s just been waiting—patiently, gently—for someone to see her… and finally choose her. April 9, 2026, 8:23 pm
