Winky is a sweet and cuddly girl. She is blind, but that doesn't slow her down, and she likes exploring new things. Winky came in with two friends and does well with other dogs but can be nippy if they try to jump on her so a less playful pack would be more her speed.If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest.All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks. Our Adoption fees for all animals cover required vetting: which includes, Rabies, Distemper Vaccine Series, Bordetella, Deworming, Heartworm Test as age appropriate, Spay or Neuter and Microchip and registration. Adoption Fees are Non Negotialble. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Hello, my name is Lola! I am a sweet boxer/ dachshund mix. I am approx. 3 years old and weigh about 25-30 lbs. I am very good with kids of all ages and has never met a stranger. I like other non- reactive dogs. I have not met a cat at this time. However, my rescue can cat test upon request! I am also housebroken but cannot be left out of my crate when no one is home because I will chew anything and everything in sight. I am currently eating Purina one but I also love boiled chicken, peas, or sweet potatoes. I do pull on my leash when walked, but, we are working on that. I cant wait to find my forever home! If you have a fenced in yard, that would be awesome because I need a lot of play time! I also love to play with toys! My rescue has made sure that I am UTD, microchipped, on a flea and tick and heartworm pill and spayed. Please reach out if you are interested. Thank you! This animal is being fostered in the South but transport to a location near you is included in your adoption fee. We use Rescue Riders Pet Transport, (www.rescueridersllc.net), the most animal-friendly transport on the road.

Alexander came to us underweight, covered in fleas, and fighting off kennel cough—but through all of that, he’s stayed nothing but sweet. He has recieved the TLC he needs and is ready to find his forever home in Minnesota! He’s the kind of dog who chooses people over everything. Food? Optional. Your affection? Mandatory. He starts off a little shy, but give him five seconds and he’s your biggest fan. He loves attention—like, really loves it. He’ll stand up on his hind legs and walk toward you like a tiny circus performer just to get your focus. He does have spurts of high energy and demands all eyes on him during those moments, but he eventually settles in and chills out. Potty training is a work in progress. He does well with a belly band and hasn’t had accidents in his crate, but if you don’t take him out immediately after he wakes up, he’ll greet you with such enthusiastic wiggles that… well, sometimes he pees a little. Same deal when he meets new people. He’s just that excited. He’d love having another pet to play with so he’s not expecting 24/7 attention from his humans. As for cats, his Texas foster hasn’t had a chance to see how he’d do. He did cry the first night in the crate, but since then he’s settled in just fine. Alexander would thrive in a home that can handle his mix of affection, energy bursts, and puppy-level enthusiasm. If you're looking for a velcro dog who makes you feel like the most important person in the world, he’s your guy. Alexander is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 5/3/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. Riley is a sweet girl! She is a 10 year old, 20 pound chihuahua mix. She came to Charming Pet Rescue after her human passed away. She arrived at the rescue with her two sisters, one brother and two cats.After losing her human, Riley is still getting used to her new environment. Riley is just now allowing for you to pet her. Riley will need time for you to gain her trust but she is making progress every day. Riley enjoys naps on the couch and rolling around outside in the grass. She is working on losing a few pounds. While her foster sisters and brother run around, she enjoys walking a few laps in the backyard following her foster mom.Riley is house trained and sleeps in her crate. She gets along well with the three dogs in the foster home. FosterPenny is a sweet and gentle lady. She is a ten year old, 15 pound dachshund mix. She came to Charming Pet Rescue after her human passed away. She arrived at the rescue with her two sisters, one brother, and two cats. She was quickly picked up by one of our foster families with her brother, Jack. Penny is still mourning the loss of her owner. She is gentle but is still not comfortable enough to come to her foster family when called. However, when the family sits on the couch to watch TV, she quickly jumps up and likes to sit next to you and her brother, Jack. She does allow you to pet her and rub her ears once she is comfortable next to you. She will also come to you if you offer her a treat and will eat it out of your hand. Penny will need time for you to gain her trust but she is making progress every day. Penny is house trained and has gone outside, but due to the stress of a new environment, she has had a few accidents in the home, usually on the pee pads. Penny sleeps well in her crate and gets along well with her brother and the two other dogs in the foster house. Penny has a cataract in her right eye but she seems to deal with it in stride and has no problem doing doggie things.
