I do require a fenced yard to keep me safe as I do not walk on a harness and leash and I do not know any recall. I am full of energy and love to run chase and play. I am a very fast door dasher! I do not understand the dangers of cars and roads. I am 9 months old, my adoption fee is $600 plus sales tax $27= $627   My adoption fee helps with my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, 3 DHPPL, Bordetella, neuter, dental if needed and microchipping.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 9:26 am

I came into rescue with my brothers Chappy and Romeo, and for my whole life I lived side by side with Chappy. Because of that, I’m still trying to figure out this big new world without him. My foster mom thinks I could adjust as long as I have another dog sibling… but my biggest dream would be getting adopted together with Chappy. A guy can hope, right? I’m a very timid boy at first, but once I realize you’re safe and kind, I’ll stick to you like a fuzzy little shadow. When I trust you, I really trust you. Here are a few things about me:• Potty trained• Can sleep in a kennel or x-pen at night, but if I had my way I’d be snuggled under the covers with my person• Very good listener (I proved it!)• Leash walking is brand new to me, and I will need a secure harness because I can slip out of a collar• A little shy, but very loving once I warm upOne time I slipped out of my collar and gave my foster mom a bit of a scare… but I showed her what a good boy I am by coming right back when she called. She says that proves I’ve got a pretty great heart. What I’m really looking for is a patient home that understands shy pups and will give me time to blossom. Another friendly dog would help me feel safe and show me how wonderful life as a pet can be.And if that home happened to include my brother Chappy too… well, that would be the happiest ending ever. If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal companion who will love you with his whole heart, Moose might just be your guy. https://www.dakotadachshundrescue.org/info/adoption My name is Moose, I am 5 yrs young, my adoption fee is $350 plus sales tx $15.75=$365.75   My adoption fee help with my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, neuter, dental  and microchipping.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 16, 2026, 12:14 pm

My name is Chappy, and I’m a handsome dachshund gentleman looking for my forever home. My dream scenario would be getting adopted with my brother Moose, because we’ve been together our whole lives and we make a pretty great team. Having a dog sibling to run and play with is one of my favorite things!I’m a good listener (my foster mom says so!), and I love a good snuggle when it’s time to relax. When my people are sleeping or away, I do just fine hanging out in my kennel or x-pen. I’ve even had free rein of the house and proved myself to be a very trustworthy boy. No chewing, no trouble, just good manners. I’m still figuring out this whole leash thing, but I’m trying my best and getting better every day. I do need a harness for walks because, like my brother, I’m a bit of a dachshund escape artist with regular collars. I do require a fenced yard to keep me safe. One of my favorite hobbies is perching on the back of the couch and watching the world go by through the window. It’s the perfect spot for neighborhood patrol duty. The important facts about me:  Potty trained Loves other dogs Snuggle professional Trustworthy in the house Certified Very Good Boy (according to my foster mom) If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal little companion… or even better, a dynamic duo with Moose and me… I might just be your guy. https://www.dakotadachshundrescue.org/info/adoption My name is Chappy, I am 5 yrs young, my adoption fee is $350 plus sales tax $15.75 =$365.75   My adoption fee help with my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, neuter, dental  and microchipping.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 16, 2026, 12:14 pm

Fill out the form by clicking on the picture of the computer screen with our logo on it.Timmy update January 6th 2026: He is now 1 yr 7 months old. He has gotten much stronger but still has some issues. He typically needs a little help getting in the door. He does bark when he needs to potty but doesn't always get outside in time. If he barks I carry him outside and he does his job. Timmy is quite the snuggler on the couch. He cannot get on and off the couch by himself. He sleeps in an expen at night with another dachshund. We continually try to get more weight on him, it has been a long slow process as his tummy was shrunk down very small before he came to us, he was basically starving to death Timmy update Friday August 15th. Timmy came to us when he was 11 months old, he was the size of a 4 month old.Timmy has neurologic issues. We have done extensive bloodwork including bile acid challenge and xrays.Timmy does not walk normally, his body moves sideways when his head is trying to go forward.Sometimes he has issues standing. If we try to lay him on his left side he flounders, we have to put him in his bed on his right side.He is still very thin, we feed him small kibble mixed with canned so he can swallow it easily otherwise he chokes, we also offer mashed Fresh Pet and try to feed him multiple times throughout the day to try to get some weight on him. Timmy will need a very special home that can continue to work with him. His feedings take about 30 minutes with him sitting next to you and coaxing him. Are you that special person that can continue with Timmy's cares with lots of love and patience? Timmy update 5/5/2025 Timmy is doing well, he is up to 6.2 pounds! He is a bit stronger. We will get him neutered once he is to a safe weight.Timmy is a sweet boy. Unfortunately he has some neurologic issues we are trying to figure out. He is in for a bile acid challenge today to see if perhaps a liver shunt. Timmy needs some special angels to sponsor him while Dr Paul figures out what his issues are. Please keep Timmy in your prayers     My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, neuter, dental if needed and microchipping.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 9:26 am
