Thankfully, an angel discovered me and found me the help I needed. Before I knew it, I was on my way to Minnesota, where I was welcomed into a warm foster home. Just a few days later, I delivered five beautiful, healthy puppies surrounded by love and care. It was the sweetest fresh start a girl could ask for!My puppies are growing up and heading off to their forever homes, and now I’m told it’s my turn to find a family of my very own. Here are the important details: I’m housetrained, not much of a barker (unless there’s a reason), and I can be trusted to relax at home without needing a kennel. I’m gentle, affectionate, and always happy to accept a treat or two.I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but that just means I take my friendships seriously. Once I know I’m safe, my loyal and loving personality really shines. I bond deeply with my people and promise to give back so much love.I may be a “shortie,” but I’m more athletic than I look and enjoy a good romp! Leashes aren’t my favorite invention yet, but I’m willing to cooperate when it means spending time with my people. I’m a great car rider — just give me a cozy spot and I’ll curl up for a nap. The spay is covered by the rescue and will be done through our vets. "A THREE HOUR TOUR!!" This was the plan... and we thought it was a good one!! I mean we went through a tour company and EVERYTHING!!! However, here we are!! The fun and FABULOUS crew, we were literally living under the sidewalk outside an elementary school!! We would come out and eat from the LUNCH LADY :) and greet the kids! But they didn't want us to stay there, too close to a road AND we are PUPPIES!! So we are with our wonderful foster mums (Moonpie waited for the nice rescue teacher to get out of work before she showed her face!!) and we are READY for ACTION!! ***CUT**** We are somewhat nervous when we first meet you, however, our cute and ADVENTUROUS side comes out pretty quickly! Welcome Mutz to CCPAL Rescue. Mutz is a 3-year-old Daug (Dachshund /Pug). He weighs about 12 pounds and is full grown and a nice weight. This dog came from the hoarder or overabundance of dog situation. He has an adorable underbit and has really blossomed at the Rescue. He is a quieter dog and has learned to like to be held. He is definitely a lap companion. He is playful with other dogs and has the sturdy body of the Pug. He would love to be a companion for a person that is retired, partially retired or maybe someone with a household that wants a dog with a lower energy to join in. He would be ok with a smaller condo size yard. He is learning leash manners and getting used to commotion of the Rescue. He hasn’t experienced a lot of different things so he isn’t sure yet but he is really really nice. He is not a big shedding dog. He is fine with nail trims and baths and will make some lucky family a great companion. I would say anyone moderately active would be fine for this dog. He bonds deeply and he warms up with affection nicely. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is getting vaccinations, neutered and he will be ready for his forever home soon. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. He has the opportunity to catch a ride on a transport coming to MN on April 15, if we have a foster home for him He is a little bit special needs as he has some fears of some people from being mistreated. He maybe snappy, out of intimidation and fear. We don't know exactly what that will look like until we get him here. Will he immediately calm down after receiving love and stability? Will he always need to be slightly managed when new people come around? We’re not sure! We have seen so many miracles in rescue with dogs who have had abusive or neglectful pasts and who learn to overcome their issues once in a stable, secure environment. We are looking for a committed, soft place for Junior to land - someone who is savvy to this kind of issue, and/or willing to work with him. A home with another dog would be a huge bonus as that can help dogs with fear issues, feel more secure. If you don't have another dog, we can still talk!
