Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Romeo, oh such a suitable name for this goofy, loving dog. Romeo is a 9 year young Dachshund mix. He is great with other dogs and very sociable with humans. Very food motivated and he can hear the cheese wrapper from any distance. Romeo is looking for a permanent home, preferably one without stairs. The coordination in his rear legs is not perfect, but on flat ground he is as fast as the other dogs and he love to run and play wrestle. Romeo is not an early riser, he likes to sleep in on a soft bed close to the warm air vent.  Romeo is incontinent. Romeo has limited bladder control. He leaks urine when his bladder is full. He walks as he pees and is unaware of this, he could wear doggie diapers but he would need to be trained to keep them on. Romeo will not be able to become 100% housebroken due to his neurological problem.** If Romeo is let out often he keeps clean inside most of the time.** Romeo loves his human with ALL his heart . He has lots of needs but lots of love to give. This guy is definitely worth the work. If you think you're that special person who can help Romeo and give him a forever home fill out an application. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
Meet this special pup, Renata 🐾💛 Renata came from a hoarding situation and is still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. Because of her past, she can be quite anxious and easily overwhelmed by new sights, sounds, and sudden movements. She’s a sensitive girl who needs time, patience, and understanding as she learns to feel secure. Renata would do best in a calm, adult-only home with another confident dog to help guide her and show her the ropes. Having a canine companion gives her comfort and helps her build confidence in unfamiliar situations. She’ll need continued support with all the basics—potty training, leash skills, household manners—but her biggest focus will be on building trust and confidence. Her ideal adopter will allow her to move at her own pace, giving her the space she needs to come out of her shell without pressure. While Renata may never be a bold, “go everywhere” kind of dog, she has so much love to give. With time, consistency, and gentle encouragement, she will form a deep, meaningful bond with her person. If you have a quiet home, a kind heart, and the patience to let Renata blossom in her own time, you’ll gain a deeply loyal and special companion 💛 - Around 3 years old - Currently under 40lbs - Good with cats and dogs - Prefers no kids as loud noises and fast movement startle her - Adoption fee: $175 To inquire about this dog, please email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com. Include information about your family and pets, what you are looking for in a canine companion, how you plan to exercise and train this dog, and why this specific dog seems like a good fit for your family. Those who provide the previous information will be considered first for this canine. Please do NOT call our center. This will help us match you and the animal the best we can. We usually respond via email within 24-48 hours; please check your spam folder if you don't hear from us. Dog adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies vaccine (if age-appropriate), distemper/parvo combination vaccine, leptospirosis vaccine (if age-appropriate), bordetella vaccine, deworming, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea preventative, a dental cleaning (if necessary), and a microchip. Future vaccines, tests, and treatments will be the responsibility of the adopter.

Story
Buddy is a 12-year-old dog with a gentle, affectionate nature who loves nothing more than curling up beside his person for a cozy snuggle. He has spent many years being a loyal companion and still has plenty of love to give. Buddy can be a bit sensitive in certain situations and has nipped a person in the home before, so he would do best in a calm, predictable environment without children. With the right home that understands his boundaries and gives him patience and reassurance, Buddy will thrive and return that care with warmth, companionship, and plenty of cuddles.
