Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sophia is a 7 year old, super cute mixture of what we guess is dachshund mixed with something that gives her a little taller legs, so maybe a mini Australian shepherd? She's beautiful but she is quite shy. She will need some time to warm up to you.and she will need a safe space to go when she's feeling overwhelmed. A crate or space under a piece of furniture will do, she isn't too picky! Sophia also has a very typical small dog issue, she needs to lose some weight. She's on a diet plan that's working, but still has some room for improvement. We are working on house training, and using the dog door with some success, but she will need some additional training.  Sophia currently lives with other small dogs and would do okay with another small, calm dog. Big dogs and children can be quite intimidating to her. She doesn't need much physical contact with people, but she loves your presence. She will follow you around the house and would prefer to at least be in the same room. Once she decides you're not so scary, she will hang out on the couch with you and enjoy getting pets and snuggles. Sophia is very sweet, but very timid. She will need someone with a lot of patience and that will allow her the space and time needed for big adjustments. If you are looking for a low maintenance dog and have a quiet home, Sophia must just be the dog for you! Sophia's adoption fee is $250 and includes her spay, microchip, current vaccinations and prevention, plus a free basic obedience class at Cedar Run #2 in Hiawatha. Last Hope requires all animals to be kept as indoor only pets and that adopters have a history of keeping pets altered and current on vaccinations and preventatives. Our adoption process includes a background check, vet history check, and a home visit. If you would like to meet Sophia please submit an adoption application for consideration through our website, www.adopthope.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 6:20 pm

Story
Mister Hansel The handsomest, bobansomest boy! As sweet as pie, too! At only about 4 months old, this guy is the loviest, doviest dude! He quickly greets everyone, and anything with all the kisses he can muster, with such a wagging tail his butt wiggles! Hansel's favorite activity is definitely anything to do with treats, people, or other dogs similar to his size. He's a social boy the second there are other pups around, and it is the cutest thing. All Hansel really ever wants is to be held, 100% of the time. Cuddles from humans are his all-time favorite thing, and he will repeatedly try to leap into laps like it’s light work to get there. Often he rolls around with the other dogs, then comes in for all the love, and puppy nap time. He is a true doll, whether he's romping the lobby, sleeping in the corner, or hanging out in his crate, he's a happy boy! We know he will do amazingly in just about any loving and fulfilling home.
